4:00 and 4:18 My heart explodes with joy. And gratitude to you too that you recognize our small gestures💖❤️ 10:57 Condo tour please!! 😍😄 Your background skyrises view is… wow!
Always! I think it’s important to treat everyone with kindness and respect. Of course if they start disrespecting you, then it’s a whole different story. 555
You can try many department store in Thailand such as 1. Macro, I cheer for raw materials, fresh vegetable, fruits, needful consumer products. 2. Big-C, it very competitor with Lotus 3. Hi-end class, Siam Paragon, Central World, Icon Siam
I’m Thai and I just watched your video today and I like it so much because I live in San Diego almost 21 years. I have not come to my house town over 2 years now. Thank for your good job!!!
There are many supermarkets that offer delivery ( Lotus, BigC, Makro) or you can order by grab market. Lately, I'm always ordering online since carrying staff is a pain.
I’ve always preferred to go out and do my own shopping. Especially now that I’m in a new country, I definitely want to go look at the stores and see what’s available. I understand a lot of people like the convenience of delivery.
I also like to explore supermarkets/stores in different areas so this video really appealed to me. Your channel is really picking up!! That is terrific!! Good for you!!
Yeah Deni, I am the same way. I love going to supermarkets and stores in different countries. I find it’s very fascinating and a good insight into what kind of things people enjoy in that area. People are loving my videos so far, I am very grateful for the support! More to come.
Nice video! Since I've only gone to Bangkok for vacation I have never stepped into a super market there, it's huge and looks like they have most anything you would need.
Honestly, even when I go on vacation I still enjoy going to supermarkets just to see what kind of products are there. The store definitely had everything I would need. Except socks my size. Lol
Very interesting VDO that you presented and comment. Thank you very much for great VDO presentation to World. Welcome all visitors to Thailand and this year Thailand has many interesting events ex. APEC, The match Bangkok Century between Liverpool (my favorite team) vs Manchester United, Motogp,…. Now Thailand and Thai peoples are ready all visitors to visit Amazing Thailand!!.
I definitely bought a few things that I shouldn’t have bought. Lol. I still don’t have a permanent home here, but I’m hoping to settle down within the next few months.
I actually made a shopping list before I went. I had it on my phone. I actually picked up everything I was looking for. The only thing I couldn’t find was socks in my size.
Love that your channel is picking up Serg! We found you while planning our move from SF to Austin in the same timeframe as you. Been followers ever since. Keep up the great work!
The cheapest shopping mall in Thailand is makro. It is a large wholesale mall. And if you want more comfort Every shopping mall will have an app for ordering products to be delivered to your home. Or will it be Grab, lineman. You just select the products you want and wait at home. Prices and promotions are the same as if you went out and bought them yourself. The fare is cheaper than the bts, taxi fare you take to the mall. And in Thailand, there will be a lot shop that sells everything for 20 baht. If you go to the shop everything 20, you can buy any household items for only 20 baht. such as hand towels, towels, hand tools, whole packs of toilet paper, paper towels At the shop, everything is 20 baht. We have them all. And a trick to get on the BTS so that you don't land on the wrong side Let you look at the destination you are going to what color line is. and then let you see the last station of that color line The signpost will be the name of the last station of that color line. For example, you are at Asoke station and you will go to Phra Khanong. You have to go to the BTS side that says Kheha(เคหะ) because the last station on that line is Kheha(เคหะ) station.😁😁🙏🙏
Hey thank you very much for those tips. I’m literally standing in front of a Makro store right now as I’m reading your comments! 555 I know that you can order all the things online sheep, but I want to explore some of the city. I will eventually find all of the cheaper things that you mention. Thank you very much for all the information and for watching!
It’s funny I was reading a comment from somebody else about Makro when I was standing right in front of that store. I went inside to take a look. I definitely don’t need to buy in bulk like that. Even in the US Costco was just good for water and toilet paper for me
i've just find your channel. it's interesting and i'll watch your next clip in Thailand. wish you have a nice trip. enjoy travelling ang enjoy foods. 👍😁 ... maybe i sometimes recommend you weird food or place. 😄
Hey DD. I do miss some aspects of California (spent 40 years in SF Bay Area). I’ll be doing a live stream today at 6 PM your time on my RU-vid channel. If you have any questions, come join and I’ll be happy to answer them.
I stayed in an Air BNB right across the street from MBK for part of my 2 weeks in Thailand 2019. Loved the awesome shopping there. Just had to get use to not being able to buy liquor at certain times of the day. Ha. Great video!!
I've been watching you since boarding from America to hand out chocolates. To the airline staff..welcome..the goods in Thailand are very cheap.. The price may differ slightly, of course, plus the quality is good because ASEAN. use all Thai products no need to worry. Please stay in Thailand for a long time from Chiang Mai.
Yeah this wasn’t really a grocery shopping video, but I wanted to share with people a shopping trip. I’m amazed how many people have watched this video already. Thank you for your support!
I am new to your program. Did you move there alone ? Are you retired ? What is your source of income ? Will you show us your home ? Cost to rent or own a home ? What is a common way to past the time ?
I moved here two months ago. I am retired. The cost to rent or own a home here is like anywhere else, it can be very cheap or it can be very expensive. Your questions are just too general to be answered. If you have anything specific you would like to ask please go ahead.
You at On Nut Lotus, next time try Big C from BTS turn right from BTS station and you will be seeing the traffic lights turning right and you will see Big C supermarkets and across the road from Big C there is On Nut local markets.
Yep! I actually walked into the big C when I filmed my “first day in Bangkok and “video. I’m really trying to live a minimalist lifestyle, so I’m avoiding buying things. I actually return several things from the shopping trip as I realized I didn’t need them.
You did it again. Another tasty morsel of Thailand! Just hang in there! Before you know it you'll soon be a pro traveller, get on the right platforms and time your VTS rides just right. As you said in past video's: "Can't be afraid of making mistake. That's how we learn!" By the way that helmet was perfect for you. You reminded me of a Toy Story 4 character. Your shopping excursions was almost comical. Actually, down right hilarious! Just like shopping to furnish your new dorm room dude! Now go back and spurge on that decorative pillow for your couch to make it feel like home ... you know you want to!🐱
Hi Serg, I feel like I walk along and shop with you. What's a coincidence to see that cool guy on the TV 555. Hope you understand what 555 in Thai means ^^
I definitely forgot to get the second part of some of the buy one get one free though. Oh well, it was still a fun experience. thank you for your support.
You are so lucky to be there. I am looking forward to seeing how Thai culture starts to influence you. I am deeply invested in Thai culture but yet after many years of taking long trips there, I still haven't figured out how to live there. I have done this type of shopping trip to by things for the airbnb/condo so many times in Thailand.... it can get ridiculous when you're there long term but still transient.
Yes I’m really curious how things will look for me in the years to come. Everything I own fits into two suitcases, so I’m trying to keep my possessions to a minimum.
Dude.. I will LEGIT burn water. Seriously, my cooking skills are horrific. If it wasn’t for friends who owned restaurants in the US, or the girlfriends who have cooked for me over the years, I would be eating instant noodles every day. Lol
Yeah, I definitely could’ve gone to a discount store. I just don’t know where they are and that’s why I went to the supermarket. Some of the things were cheaper, some of them were not. I’m the same way, I love going to stores and looking at base of goods in other countries.
I’m actually visiting in the US right now and am really surprised at how much more things cost. I was visiting the US last year and the increase from then to now is incredible.
Oh I didn’t get a chance to do that. Honestly this was just shopping for basic necessities and not for food. I might do a more general supermarket video down the road.
@@LifewithSerg If you have a chance as well to good to the food court on top of The Emporium the food is really good and cheap with a nice view. I was going there almost daily
i don't understand english But your video clip looks fun and enjoyable. Makes me look forward to watching your new clips every day. In the future I hope there will be Thai subtitles or you can speak Thai better.
จะพยายามหาวิธีทำซับไทยให้ค่ะ ฉันต้องเรียนภาษาไทยด้วย ขอบคุณมากสำหรับการสนับสนุนของคุณ! I will try and find a way to make Thai subtitles. I also need to learn Thai. Thank you very much for your support!
Looks like you were in the area that I have a condo at On Nut. There is also a free bus that goes to IKEA if you ever need, get off the BTS at Udom Suk, take exit 5 and the bus comes pretty often.
So here’s a funny story. I went to make myself a drink with ice cubes at my condo the other day. That’s when I realized that I had used tap water so I stopped myself short. That’s also when I realize that the night before I had used the same tap water ice cubes. I managed to live. Lol… but yes, I’m using bottled water to make ice now.
Good morning. Just started watching you bro. I have been here for nearly 4 years now. You will get use to Lotus soon. The paper towels were what you taught was toilet paper, and at 7.24 you were looking for paper towels, this is the toilet paper section. I am sure you figured this out after🤣🤣🤣 Subscribed too.
I actually bought some paper towels instead of toilet paper and realize it when I get home. 555 yes everything is a bit of a learning curve, but I think that’s part of the fun. Thank you so much for your support.
Always get the jumbo pack of batteries! 😉 Lotus is great. Wait till you go to a Macro! Glad you learned the 1 and 1 shopping tags. That was great you saw yourself on TV. Did you arrange that?😂😉😂
Yeah I wasn’t really sure if anyone be interested in a shopping video like this, apparently people are! Got another one coming out in a couple of days.
There are another branch of Lotus supermarket at Fortune Town building , Pharam 9 MRT station, 2 MRT station from MRT Sukhumvitt or BTS Asok. I think that the nearest Lotus supermarket from your place.
Great video serg.. these are sometimes the things you don’t realise you have to buy and don’t budget for .. Thai people are amazing so helpful Keep these vids coming
Pete is a great interviewer! Welcome to the team. Chris has done an amazing job growing his channel. I’m not sure what lies in store for me, but I will just continue making content about topics that I enjoy. I should have another video out in about five hours.
Yes, we are getting close! I just need to put out more videos, but I only want to make videos that I truly enjoy doing. I want to make good content for people. Thank you for your support
I have recently been thinking about moving to Thailand - although I am as of yet undecided. I will have to do some more research first. But either way, I will finally be going back for at least a month next week so we’ll see how I feel about being back in the Asian heat and humidity after being in Europe for the last two years, haha. Anyway, I don’t know if it actually works because I’ve never tried it in Thailand, but I have in other countries like Japan pre-covid. If you download Google Translate to your phone, you can use the camera to translate text for you - I’m sure it will make shopping much easier. Like I said; I don’t know if it actually works for Thai, but I would be surprised if it didn’t. Just out of curiosity and of course you don’t have to answer because it’s none of my business, but what kind of visa do you have? I know I have heard of people living in Thailand on a tourist visa and just going in and out of the country to renew it, but I guess I’m just wondering if that actually works long term or not. I had a friend who used to do that in Taiwan a couple of years back and he never had a problem. Meanwhile immigration in Japan would get annoyed with me every time I showed up (I used to go every year pre-covid). I actually had an immigration officer pull me aside once and tell me “Your visa temporary, but YOU! YOU NOT TEMPORARY!!”, haha. He let me go on my way without issue afterwards, but still. It definitely made me a little bit more careful when dealing with immigration.
Yes google translate works perfectly here with Thai. Tourist visa will require you to leave the country after 90 days as that’s the max you can do. They are many different versus you could use, take a look at their website and see what best suits you.
ฉันเริ่มทำด้วยเหตุผลด้านสุขภาพ และฉันไม่อยากดื่มอีกต่อไป ฉันรู้สึกดีขึ้นมาก I started to do it for health reasons, and I just don’t have a desire to drink anymore. I feel so much better.
Oh there’s nothing I love more than a good home cooked meal. There’s definitely something special about enjoying a meal that someone you like prepared.
@@LifewithSerg You feel more stable & settled in life with a home cooked meal. Only if your on the go with a busy life & schedule you can settle for takaway ( as we say in Australia) but yes, if someone cooks for you it shows they care for you. Plus going to that effort makes you appreciate that person for looking after you. 👍
Nice to show what others are going to have to simply go through also. Did you consider other places before choosing BKK, and whatever area/station you felt was good? As that transpo system and easy shopping/food access def seems to be a huge factor.
I wasn’t Bangkok wants 10 years ago, so I just wanted to headquarter from here. I didn’t really consider any other places because I really fell in love with Thailand. The food and transportation here is excellent.
I really like going in supermarkets in different countries and seeing local products, etc. You know I really wanted to get one, but they were having problems with the equipment and the monitors with all the prices were down. I’m guessing it’s a bit more now.
Do you know I bought a bottle of that when I was making my “first day in Thailand” video. I thought it was pomelo juice though. I gotta start saying “no sugar”. There’s sugar in everything here.
ใช่ คนไทยมีความเป็นมิตรและยินดีเป็นอย่างยิ่ง ขอบคุณมากสำหรับการสนับสนุนของคุณ Yes, the Thai people have been extremely friendly and welcoming. Thank you so much for your support.
Hey Serg, your videos are awesome and appear to be relaxing to enjoy life in Thailand. I’m planning on a week on solo trip in Thailand. Could you make a video based on recommendation? Preferably, low budget trip.
Generally, products in Lotus mall are cheaper than products from other malls. Especially the consumer goods are much cheaper than the 7-11. (although the same owner.)😅
@@LifewithSerg Makro too, same owner. 😂 Yes, there is a department store for wholesale products. but it's really cheap. If you are someone who doesn't like to go to the mall often, I recommend it. But there is a caveat that complicates you a bit, because you only need to be a member of Makro to buy from there, and there are also very few options for credit cards...🤥
My Advices: 1. You will be doing shopping in many times. Better Apply for Lotus Membership card or Big C Membership Card. You will get some discount or cash back. 2. Please bring some plastic bags with you to go shipping. no more free plastic bags.
Yes, I’m aware that they will deliver. Honestly since I’m so new here, I really want to just get out and find things for myself. Even when I was living in America, I always liked going out and picking up my own things.
