I explore one of my favourite campsites so far since moving to Western Australia. If you'd to support me to help get out & make more of these videos click this link. patreon.com/Camping_Downunder
@Davi.b I'm not sharing the name on here sorry. People can explore & find it for themselves. It's half an hour from where I live in Busselton Western Australia
This place is Crap. Great if you love ticks massed mosquitoes, flys and Tiger snakes. Had a large bushfire go thru a couple of summers ago, difficult to get out in time. Give it a miss. 🤮
Ahhh mate, I took all that wood there, and left there so when I went back with my grumpy missus and kids we'd all be warm at night. We got there and all my wood was burnt, kids hated me cos they were cold, missus left me for my best mate cos she said I was lying about the wood. Thanks though, now I got some peace and quiet. Take care, cheers.
Mate it's so beautiful over here 😍 half of the chair in the video is the same chair that went in the fire 🤣 I had 2 of these chairs at home so I swapped bits around so I had 1 good chair
True keep ya favourite campsites a big secret and that place is a gem 💯👌 my gem was hog wash sand bar in SA back when i was 10years old school holidays caravaning with my grandparents , only way in was a goat track back then and we usually had the place for ourselves for a couple off weeks in school holidays now they put a road in and folks have found the place its always packed out now always over populated 🥺 that is a fabulous burger mate next best thing to a barbecue 👍
Welcome to WA Paul. Glad you made it. It looked touch and go there for a while out on the Nullarbor. That's a great spot. I have only day tripped there a couple of times. I look forward to your future adventures.
I use to backpack around the world, travelling on my own. Now I have a permanent job & my daughter lives with my ex wife, so finances mean I'm reduced to holiday trips , living out of my car , travelling into Europe for a few weeks a year. i love it. I also love your videos. I cant wait to get back to my beloved down under one day, and take a look at 'The west Island' 😜 !
What a lovely spot. Very cheap as well imo. We just paid 50 bucks a night per site in the Stringybark campground in Deep Creek but you can have 2 vehicles on the site and there's hot showers, washing up area and flushing toilets which makes life so much easier when camping. Providing the firewood is such a great idea imo. We carry firewood most of the time when we camp which is a complete pia and people will gather it even if it's not allowed. Providing it at the site even if they charged a few bucks a day for it would bring in some income and make gathering it from the bush unnecessary.
@@Campingdownunder Yeah Forestry Victoria did a similar thing at Big Billy Bore campground. Built excellent free facilities so that people, and the usual grubs, wouldn't free camp and trash the surrounding park.
@frankchris_camping4x4 planning a video in a few weeks with roos adventures. We'll be going out on his boat, lightweight camping and not taking any food with us. We only eat what we catch. So we'll most likely starve & come home a few kilos lighter 🤣
Yep you got it right mate 🤣 there were 2 things in the video that gave it away. People that spend that much effort going through the video to work it out deserve to camp there lol
Thank you 🙏 I was actually at this spot just yesterday. So many beautiful place's here 😍 I can't wait to finish my 4wd so I can get back out there filming more videos like this 😀
nice mate, Thats a good spot and i bet it be pretty packed in Summer as people want to camp and swim as well. I hope someone out there that has a place or house is willing to open up for ya mate, pretty sure if word gets around someone will help.
sounds like a plan.. ive followed lots of youtubers who started small but doing really well now. You have the right ideas. keep it up.@@Campingdownunder
It's good to see you enjoying the South West. I'm a Perth local and even though I've never seen that camp site before, I appreciate you not sharing it You're really making me want to move to the south West as well, I would love to live 30 minutes away from somewhere that beautiful
I enjoyed the communist lockdowns a couple of years ago, people from Perth and "other" places were barred entry to the South West We were transported back to the 1980's. Happy days.
I could have also blacked out my windows of my car as I was driving past the sign but really how far do you go? If anyone goes to that much effort to find it then they deserve to camp there. I had already pre filmed those clips having the intention of sharing the site location. I'd already spent 12 hours editing the video not to mention the day filming & usually with a return of around $10 per video from RU-vid it comes to a point where how much is your time really worth. This was my first time blanking something out in a video & it already took me several hours just to work out how to blank out the areas in the video that I included lol
@@Campingdownunder I personally wouldn’t have a clue how to do any of the you tube stuff and appreciate the effort to view your content, just thought I would mention it to you in case it was an oversight. Happy camping and welcome to WA 😎
@mikemale3034 if people are that desperate to find it then they deserve to camp there. I just didn't want to make it obvious. I had already pre recorded those scenes before deciding not to share the location
Hey mate, Just finished watching your CampKing RTT review. Im in the process of setting up a tourer. Are you still happy with it? Any updates on the pros and cons? Keep up the good content 🍻
I've actually just spent the last 2 months straight living out of it every night and honestly nothing has changed. It's still incredible. The only thing I regret not doing earlier was getting an anti condensation mat for under my mattress as my mattress never got a chance to dry out each day. But the mat fixed that issue. Haven't had any issues with water ingress or build quality. I'll never get rid of this rooftop tent 👍
This is my fav spot in Busso! It not far to kayak, but relaxing... The wood can be damp at times so if you light at the top and burn down, it dries out the wood and you get a better cleaner burn! 👍🏼
Exactly right 👍 that's a tricky one 🤣 I need to book it in for an inspection and see how much I'm up for to pass the inspection. It's never had an inspection before so I'm dreading it & I also can't afford it at the moment lol
I am an older female, WA solo camper. I have had some negative experiences with bogans and meth heads in our national parks. What's your experience with this type of behaviour?
Luckily I haven't ran into any yet. But quite often you'll wake up to idiots hooning around at 3am which is concerning when your on your own. You feel a lot safer when there's other families camped at the campgrounds with you. I'm currently at Boranup Campground and get the entire place to myself
@@Campingdownunder....I would relish having a whole place on my own! Sounds awesome. I one joined a forum and gave away one of my favourite spots, now can't get in there, always booked out, so I understand the secrecy.
I don't mind paying as long as the Campground is maintained. But the cost has to be reasonable. Plus it's nice being able to book a site knowing when you drive all the way there you are guaranteed the site 😀
@@Campingdownunder if the wife and I want to take the kids for a couple of days bush, we should be able to camp out bush off grid without a ranger moving us on
@rebeccarogers5798 yes I agree. It's hard where I live. We have so many homeless people here because housing is so expensive but the council also won't allow anyone to camp within half an hour of the city. There only option is paid camping which can be very expensive. Years ago you used to be able to camp anywhere for free. But now it's hard to find any free camping spots
@@Campingdownunder same here all the way up the coast to port Hedland. So many parking spots you can camp on. It's all about money, not about our family experiences
