Alex, as someone who was self-employed for over 15 years, let me tell you this. The concept is great. Be your own boss. Do what you want to do. Sounds great, right? Yeah, but none of that is true. You aren't your own boss. You now have any bosses as you do customers, because the customer is your boss. All the paperwork, the insurance, the bills, the invoicing, the collections on deadbeat customers, the breakdowns, that is all now your responsibility as an entrepreneur. All things that your Uncle has to deal with now. Or, you can just show up at the yard, and just collect a paycheck. The choice is yours to make. But don't let anyone tell you that being self-employed is some sort of easy patch filled with sunshine and rainbows. Sometimes the juice isn't worth the squeeze.
Learning that with my landscape business. The money is great, but youre ALWAYS working. Never truly off. Even on vacation youre thinking of work related things. Plus holding onto good employees is hard enough nowadays.
you can factor your loads and get back-office help. the issue with the "be your own boss" mantra is that people don't realize that it doesn't mean working less. it means working harder, but the good thing is that it is your business and your money, not someone else's.
@@phisiks Well you let me know where to find them. I start at 20$ an hour and if you work well and last more than a month, youll be at 25$ an hour and make it a few months ill pay 30$+ an hour plus bonuses but so far, i havent found that.
California does not make it easy for a trucking company. I plan to buy a truck next year myself. Insurance is a killer. Don't let California take your dream. Stay strong and fight back. Keep on trucking brother, drive safe!
If you're going to purchase a truck to form your own company, it'd be best to do it other than California cause a, the regulations are horrendous and b, the taxes for an entrepreneur is through the roof c, it's less expensive in my home state in Florida and in the long run you'll have more money in your pocket and be more successful in the long run
I’ve found it better to be an owner operator bro. Bought my truck when I turned 21, I’m 23 now and have two trucks and a brand new trailer. And those trucks gave me the opportunity to buy a house and get my wife a nice new car. I definitely would not be in the position I’m in if I didn’t pull the trigger on buying my own truck. Only thing I would do is get out of California 🤷🏾♂️😂 just keep pushing driver, do what your gut tells you
I want some wings and pizza 0:16 , also 0:36 idc what ur doing man go ahead and take ur time man. So you can do what you wanna do. Plus, Ill still see your past videos.
I don’t know how anyone can make a good living in California, everything is super expensive there and so many strict unnecessary laws there , I have friends that are truck drivers in the Midwest and they say it’s not so strict there and the pay is very good , California is just a nightmare state to live in all around.
I am not an owner operator, but I can give you why the costs are so expensive, it is your Governor and your Legislators that are passing all of the burdensome regulations and laws that force you to have expenses that drive up the costs to operate your own truck. The solution is if you are able to go and vote in California go and cast your ballot and remove all politicians in your State Legislature and your Governor who have been in office for a number of years and clean house as it appears they have forgotten you and other small businesses.
Speaking of being a owner op. It's crazy the hoops and taxes and fees we have to pay just to drive trucks and buy fuel. With the new eld laws, it's going to be hard making the few pennies that we are making right now. Everyday is like walking on eggs shells. Persue with dreams but do it with caution in California.
Alex, I would ask your uncle and other truckers on guidance about buying and owning your own truck. However, if nothing, not even California's strict policies, are going to stop you, I'd get your own truck when you're in the right place financially and fully prepared to handle the responsibility. Just take it one step at a time; know that even your uncle didn't build his company in a day. Keep up the trucking videos, Alex! VAMANOS!!! Edit: I know you probably don't want to, but i would move out of California because no one wants super strict policies.
Hey Alex , I say you should always follow your dreams however being an ex o/o in California and seeing the rules and regulations Cali is imposing will make that dream quite a challenge. My suggestion is to move to a state that isn’t so crazy on there policies and rules , like Texas or Nevada to name a few. Good luck
easy broooo mudate de cali eso es una vida de gastos Texas esta bueno para truck driver yo no soy trokero pero aqui se mueve en Ohio tengo panas y les va bien
You have a successful RU-vid channel, so I've no idea how that affects you financially. It wasn't that long ago that owning a single truck, even a couple of trucks, was a really tough way to make any decent, consistent money. I'm at that point in my life where financial risks feel risky, LOL. Having said that it looks like you have a pretty good arrangement working for family with steady, fairly close to home routes. Just me, but I would keep doing what you're doing.
I would have been mad if you dropped those wings 😂 and I’m from California, been an owner op as well. Follow your heart. You would regret not trying something that you always wanted to do. Defy the odds, where you can. You never know where the road leads unless you try it. God Bless!
GET OUT OF CALI!!!! Worst state in the country for truckers. Stay away from this emissions junk. It’ll bankrupt you, 100%. If you want a long nose get a 379 with a 12.7 Detroit series 60. If it has a Cummins x15,ISX, paccar Mx-13, DD15 it’s a money pit and stay away. You want to start a trucking business get out of California. Or buy older equipment and park outside of Cali. Not worth it one bit in my opinion.
He's such a little cutie. 😋 No wonder he gets chased by lot lizards, sex crazed other drivers and lunatics. 😬 Lol. 🤭 Just look at his sweet cute face. 😍 I would be one of those pursuing him too. Love this guy. Definitely got my attention from the first minute I saw him and his videos. 🤩 Wish you nothing but the best boy. 😚
What WiFi/hotspot you use in your truck? I’m trying to watch and play some games but don’t know any good WiFi with good enough speed. Thanks in advance if you answer!
@@alexnino_ you "work" for your uncle. you're an entertainer, not a trucker. Hollywood rich kid never struggled before in his life. Silver spoon fed. Kim Kardashian type cooking Wagyu steaks during "work" trying to relate to the rest of us poors.
Im an owner and it really matters how you look at things just know instead of the money coming to you. you will need to chase it un like a driver you have money coming regardless of break downs or slow work now as an owner there is peak times of the year and slow times out of the year and also really depends on what you want to haul as also cuz its not just buying a truck its also buy a trailer for that truck and after that you need to find an insurance company that will give you a policy for the cargo you will haul and in cali that is expensive for new companies getting started insurance companies do not go based off your driving experience once your an owner they got based off the MC number or USDOT number and since it will be new to thier eyes your a newby if wanting to buy a reefer they you need to be within that year limit of the egine on the reefer man my honest opinion is yes right now is the time to buy cuz trucks are cheap but be ready to struggle the first 6 months maybe even into a year then the numbers will start to add and also just note in cali we have to upgrade our trucks every 5-8 years cuz of emissions laws unless you go electric but that is way to expensive and after that getting started you need to build business credit witch is hard took me 10 years to build that and lets say you do go abouts being an owner make sure you get a LLC not a sole proprietor and just note all truck drivers pay taxes since the day i became an owner ive never seen a tax return in years always having to pay 10k and up in taxes and dont even get me started with getting ready for tax season its a nightmare adding all totals and filling in all your deductions man its really up to you of you are up for the challenge but honestly there is times i love it and time that i want to rip my hair off my head cuz of the stress thats why i stopped doing content on youtube as an owner i dont have time for editing or even slowing down to get the good shot of the video taking the time to set up a camera its more of go go go situation all the time as an owner why not buy a truck run it under your uncles authority and have him pay your full amount that he gets for that truck and 1099 your at the end of the year youll still need to create a LLC but wont have to struggle with the insurance and looking for loads
Ever since I started watching this guy, he inspired me to wake up early every day. I used to wake up very late but ever since I’ve started watching him, I have started waking up early. He inspired me so much that he reminds me that every day is an adventure.
you can do owner operator because i have a t680 kenworth with a paccar mx 13 engine and we do in dump trailer and we have our own truck not trailer but company driver is quite good too because if you get in a accident then you will not have to pay for the damages but that goes along with owner operator but with attorneys or lawyers so either way is fine alex, HAVE A MERRY CHRISTMAS
alex buy a truck in Nevada but have a p.o box there you can buy your own authority right now for like 500 I'm no O/O but that's what someone once said to me I'm on ELD rn and let's just say i never run out of hours ;)
Thanks for putting the PS5 on that flat surface. It will really extend the life and is safer for you too. If you want to start your own company, moving out of CA might benefit you. CA is a nice place, but really expensive to live and operate in.
Bro move to a different state and start your company. Thats what I would recommend. As an owner op. Cali is just not the place for growth with all the rules and regulations. I’m sorry but either find something different or move.
Dont do it. Unless u have your own mechanic and $50,000 in the bank at all times. I did it for 5 years and back to company driver. If u do move to vegas.
It’s a piece of shit being an owner op in California! You have to work twice as hard and pay taxes for having your own permits, insurance and trucking company. California is a piece of shit when it comes to trucking now they are changing the laws and making it harder for truckers.
Buying a truck and contracting yourself and equipment out isn’t a bad idea to get started. Don’t have to jump in head first but can get some extra cash for your own truck. I don’t know what the contacting rules are in the states but in Canada I know lots of people that do that. Can always rent out your truck and still work for your uncle too
Not trying to be political, but that's the name of the game in a state such as California. Florida and Texas have some of the least regulations when it comes to business enterprise and capital ventures... something that would be of benefit to one looking to start their own trucking firm.
from personal experience if you have the work coming in consistently if you know the business why not. worst comes to worst you sell the truck and thats that but being an o/o is tough but yet so rewarding dont let the law pull you back from your dreams!
Have you ever thought working for a company that has a lease program or lease to own? Were you get the benefits of working for a bigger company but the freedom of running your own truck I can’t complain being a lease operator for the company im at
Alex ikk I’m jus a kid butt like I would say wait until u have money for a business and a truck bc that’s how much money idk how much u make but make sure u have enough money and also do u only truck in ur state or diffrent states
Been an owner operator dispatcher for 5 years bro and I'm over it the rates are shit. The laws they are implementing are making it impossible to have a good life in This state in the owner operator industry.
