omg so glad u reacted to this!! the selection u randomised is actually very good - all songs are super popular rn and are from popular producers. mitchie-m’s music is quite chaotic and colorful in general, which is part of the charm if u want smth quite out there. to clarify what an ‘utaite’ is, they’re (typically) faceless singers who cover (and sometimes produce) vocaloid songs! ado (who sang useewa) is actually considered an utaite! thanks again for checking it out, esp since the vocaloid scene only started regaining popularity recently, but its nowhere near the hype from late 2000s-early 2010s.
@pluumin243

if u do decide to check out any more, vocaloid has a darker side where producers such as wowaka, kikuo and maretu address social issues surrounding japanese culture and touches on mental health

YOOO I'M SO GLAD YOU COVERED VOCALOID! I definitely recommend checking out some of the classics, like "World is Mine" by supercell as it was one of the first songs to put vocaloids on the map. I'm a big fan of Hachi's work - "Matoryoshka", "Donut Hole" and "Panda Hero" are all really great. If you want a taste of some Western vocaloid producers then "Echo" by Crusher-P is always a personal favourite, if only for nostalgia. Neru's work is also worth checking out, his older stuff like "Lost One's Weeping" is great if you wanna see the J-rock inspirations in vocaloid music but his more recent stuff like "Law evading rock" and "whatever whatever whatever" are also really fun. Personally, I really like the more creepy side of vocaloid too and I'd check out Kikuo if you wanna dip your toes into that. Utsu-P has been messing around with vocaloid metal and it's really fun hearing Miku doing death growls Your editing is so solid, keep up the good work \o/

don't know if people have told you vocaloid utatei are vocaloid covers. Utatei literary means "to try and sing". And there are many famous vocaloid utateis which refer to the people who does cover the vocaloid songs, Mafumafu being one of them.

3:56 this truly is the prove of just knowing the surface level of vocaloid songs. "Kagome Kagome Kagome" was one of my first song from vocaloid, which made me think for 3 years that vocaloid is a horror genre. while "Love Me, Love Me, Love Me" by Kikou is pretty much my pre-teen life summed up. Child neglects~✨🥰 The Kagerou Project from Jin is a whole ass series.

Not quite sure if this is vocaloid but Mafu mafu is part of a group of Utaites that do collabs with each other, I'd highly recommend looking up the groups song RPG, it's a great adrenaline rush and captures the feeling of spending hours gaming with friends. The group is basically the 4 utaites character names combined : soramafuurasaka. If ur gonna do vocaloid, there's a really good (but kinda dark n edgy) one called "Echo" it got popular with remixers awhile ago.

Hi there!! First of all amazing video, so glad you got to enjoy vocaloid so much. I am sure you know alot of this already but heres some things i wanted to share! - Producers are the life blood of the vocaloid community. I would suggest looking into some of them to see whose style you vibe with. Many of them branched out to even mainstream music. Heck Kenshi Yonezu, who is one of the biggest singers in Japan started off as a producer. Some other ones I would suggest are DECO*27 (who you already checked out!), Neru, Wowoka, 40mp, Kuousa-P, Mothy (particularly their story of evil story), Ryo (their song black rock shooter even has an anime), Jin (their Kageru Project series also has an anime) and last but not least Honeyworks Utaite are human cover singers of vocaloid songs, many of them started of like that and moved to becoming professionals as well. Some prefer Utaite over vocaloid versions since its a person singing Sorry for all the info dumping! Hope this helps out even a bit

Well, not everything gets uploaded to youtube either, so niconico is definitely the best resource but it can be a litte clunky to use. Wow! This was really cool to see your reactions to this song! If you're looking for some suggestions, I do in fact have some. My personal favorite vocaloid producer is PinnochioP because his songs can just be so relatable, sad, depressing, etc. One of my favorite songs of his is I'm Glad You're Evil Too. Seriously, that song feels like a whole emotional rollercoaster within a song. Definite recommend. Vocaloid also isn't exclusively Japanese. There's also some Vocaloid english producers, some of my personal favorites being Kira, Crusher-P, and GHOST. Kira's song Monster being his most popular song. Crusher-P's Echo is definitely one of the most well known Vocaloid songs out there. And GHOST's Endless Battery Burns is a personal favourite of mine, and what makes that song especially interesting is that the lyrics are computer generated, though it's fairly recent compared to my other suggestions. As for some nostalgic vocaloid songs from back in the day. There's 'Popipo', 'Ievan Polkka', and 'World is Mine'. There's also a personal favorite nostalgia song of mine, 'Triple Baka', which actually also makes use of two UTAUloids along with Miku as the one Vocaloid in the song.

There's so many good Vocaloid songs out there, you could listen to new songs nonstop for weeks, and still not get close to how many are out there. Some of my personal favorites are Reincarnation Apple by PinocchioP, Hyper Reality Show by Utsu-P, The Lost One's Weeping by Neru (There's also a god-tier cover by another vocaloid artist named Tanjiro Taidana using the Utauloid Kasane Teto that's worth checking out), KING by Kanaria, Sand Planet by Hachi, and literally any song made by Wowaka. I still feel like this is not giving you nearly enough, but I'll hold myself back at this point. You're just entering the Vocaloid rabbit hole at the moment, so I'm not going to overwhelm you, but if you're up for it, there's another, just as deep rabbit hole when it comes to Japanese music called Hololive. Just throwing that out there for future consideration.

First ever vocaloid song I listened to was Echo by Crusher P and its in english. As far as recommendations go, I’d suggest Unknown Mother Goose by Wowaka, Anonymous M or Devil Janai Mon by Pinocchio P, and / / // / / by x0o0x_. The last song I mentioned technically doesn’t have a name and the artist doesn’t either so I’m just using the names from spotify. I’d also suggest looking into Kisarahi Station which is what the song is based after.

Hint: The Reol song you listened to has her and Giga singing together, not vocaloids. There's another video, same design and everything, just different color scheme with the song with Miku and Luka singing. Also, Bring It On was a collab with Reol and Giga. You hit the same pair twice. But they made bangers, so I don't blame you one bit. They've since gone their separate ways and Giga is still cranking out bangers while Reol is pursuing her singing/pop star career.

BRING IT ON IS SO GOOD HDHSHSJSHAHWJ (8/10?? Smh). One of my favorite things about vocaloid is how the tuning the artist chooses changes how the voice sounds, so you get some really robotic sounds and other sound really natural. My favorite bunch of songs are from the Kagerou project by Jin, they even got an anime + manga out of it and the story makes me go bersek i love it, but my ultimate favorite vocaloid song is Soitogeta Android He (twinklePOP with miku) i found a 2012 lyrics with translation to my language (bc the og is on Nico Nico only i guess ) and this song is so sad so beautiful i want what they had.

Ohedo Julia Night is my favorite Mitchie M song, I don't get how people don't like it. It's really addictive and upbeat. The MV is just a nice bonus. I often just randomly sing the line "Oheda Julia-night" out and even though I don't know Japanese, I will just keep singing. (I guess the reason is that Miku and Kaito's voice will say different things at the same time but they are so distinct it still sounds good)

I recommend listening to Kikuo (Songs are bangers but usually really dark, I reccomend Aishite aishite aishite [english title "Love me, Love me, Love me"], Hole Dwelling, Corpse Dance, and Cats Dinning Table) Also Ghost and Pals! They do english vocaloid songs (I recommend Chattering Lack of Common Sense, Honey I'm Home, Aura [which using synthV, similar to vocaloid but different program], Appetite of a People Pleaser, and Those Who Carried on) they have a very particular style thats very nice! Maretu also has a particular style but darker stories like Kikuo (I reccomend Mind Brand, SIU, Coin Locker Baby, and Born Before, the coin locker baby song is based ona true story be warned) Kairiki bear is also another good vocaloid artist honestly all of them are good (but for reccs you may like Bug, Anatasama, Mental Chainsaw, Failure Girl [maretu mix], Venom, and Neroism. Maybe even a bit of Lemming ming kemu remix) i too am very bad at picking so im just naming popular ones + ones i like of them you're gonna be on a longggg journey
