That's the thing. People are so quick to stereotype based on an extremely surface image, they rarely bother to investigate deeper, so they lock themselves out of something amazing and stay in their bubble. Those of us who did bother have been shouting from the rooftops for 10 years that these guys are legends in the making! The amount of talent and hard work is almost unbelievable... as Yoongi (aka Suga aka AGUST D) once said "I think if people can listen to our music without prejudice, they might enjoy it."

I love how RM, SUGA, and j-hope are three different flavors of rap that evolve within their own pocket.

I'm not sure how much you know about Min Yoongi aka Suga/AugstD....but as you liked his MV then the following info might be of interest to you. Suga/Agust D began writing music lyrics and working with MIDI at age 11 and held a part-time job composing and arranging music at a recording studio at age 16. Active under the name "Gloss" (wordplay on his name Yoongi, which means "to shine") as an underground rapper in his hometown Daegu, He originally entered Big Hit Entertainment as a producer at age 17 and became the second member to join BTS..... At BTS debut in 2013 he was 20 y.o.... he is one of BTSs main producers/songwriters/composers and has over 150 song copyrights.... he also produces for other artists and has won awards for his work.... he is one of the fastest rappers in South Korea. Suga (SHU-GA.... from Shooting Guard - the position he played in basketball) ...... AgustD = SUGA + DT (Daegu Town - his hometown) Spelt Backwards Between his commitments as a member of BTS, Suga/Agust D took advantage of time on the plane and in hotel rooms after concerts to continuously produce, write and compose music. In an interview for Grazia Korea, Suga/Agust D expressed a desire to release the music he wanted to do without having to consider popular appeal or music ranking. He intended to release his music for free in the form of a mixtape to avoid such considerations, commenting that an album "has a feeling of being trapped in some sort of framework" due to the need for company involvement in promotion and advertising. He has released 2 mixtapes - and last year released his first official album (of which he continues to maintain full creative control) Developing Agust D musically on the base of hip hop, much of Agust D's inspiration for the lyrics came from his own stories of dream, youth, and reality. In order to differentiate his work from that of his work as Suga, he developed the alter ego "Agust D". He is best known for his honest hardhitting lyrics. Suga was an underground rapper before joining BTS and so was RM the rapper you haven't checked out yet. You should react to his song "Agust D" and also The cyphers( pt.1-4) by the rap line

There is 3 rappers in BTS, RM, Suga/Agust D and J Hope. This rapline make me fall in love with rap at 55yo+, and holds a special place in my heart ! RM raps with his sharp intellect, he has this big commanding voice that demands respect. Even when he goes soft, he sounds like a father comforting his child. JHOPE dances and surfs on the beat, he brings a very upbeat energy to his rap with an almost rhythmic singing tone. Makes you happy just listening and looking at him. SUGA raps with the fire in his heart, he's flow and cadence are very poetic. There’s a rawness of emotion in his voice that even if you don’t understand what he’s saying, you can feel it. For many Army, RM represents the brain, J-hope the heart and Suga the soul of a song. That's why it's difficult to pick a favorite, each is a king in his own area, and together ? they are the BEST in the industry. RM, suga/agust d, jhope are some of the best rappers I've ever heard, they are all so different from each other but work so well together. This group would not be who they are if something happened to either of them, just like the vocal line, we need them all together to be bts! They are all important in their own ways. If you do RM next I absolutely love wildflower, probably one of the best songs I've ever heard, it's stunning. Or if you want to do a different one his song joke is great to, doesn't have any meaning really to it, just shows you the flows he can do, very unique and im here for it

Agust D - call him by that full name, - the rap name of Suga in BTS. All three rappers will have parts in BTS's songs. This is #1 of a trilogy, the next one is Haegeum, and then Amygdala. Together, they are an emotional journey Suga has been on.

Yoongi produced, wrote, plays the synth, composed, and performed it; however, he also storyboarded the MV and created the concept himself. I recommend continuing the Agust D trilogy storyline with Haegeum and Amygdala.

Since you seem to like rap, you should try the BTS rap line (RM, Suga, and JHope) songs - Cypher pt 1-4!!! They go hard on all the haters and the Korean Big 3 (music corporations) that tried to cancel BTS from their trainee days at BigHit, a no name music company, through their debut and early years. Even today, the "Big 3" are still hating on and trying to stop BTS, while all 7 are in the Korean military, which is mandatory!!!!!

You can call him suga (his name in BTS) or Yoongi (real name). I don't think ppl call him just D usually. Also the grp has 3 rappers. All three rappers of BTS are the epitome of perfection. It would be an insult to compare them to each other or anybody else. Their styles are completely different yet similar. They perfectly blend in group while keeping their own uniqueness in style. when someone asks to describe their writing styles i would usually say: RM writes songs with his 148 IQ brain J-Hope writes songs with heart and Suga writes songs with his soul. or As we ARMY's say😆: Suga will straight up tell you that you are trash RM will explain you in detail why you are trash J -hope will tell you it's ok to be a trash. that's it, the shortest and the best description of the rap line.

If you want to hear a real hip hop beat listen to Monster by RM. It is from his very first solo mixtape. He was so young when this was released but the flows sound just like a well seasoned rapper. It is so ironic that you need to go to Korea/Japan to hear people pay real homage and respect to hip hop! Once you go Korean you never go back.💜

Suga of BTS solo work is done under his alter ego Agust D. He has a trilogy set, 2 mixtapes and an album. Daechwita is from his second mixtape, D-2, and Haegeum is from his album, D-Day! Go to his first mixtape, Agust D and listen to the self-titled single Agust D. Agust D is backwards for Daegu Town SUGA; the town of Daegu is Suga's birthplace. He goes hard on those Korean underground hip-hop rappers that disrespected RM and him at a rap forum. One in particular called them crossdressing makeup wearing girls and sellouts for joining an idol group called BTS. So these haters and no talent rappers are who he disses. Lastly, you need to listen to Amygdala, which is his true story about his hardships, and explains the scar by his eye in Daechwita and Haegeum. Snooze featuring Ryuichi Sakamoto (Oscar winning composer/pianist and a mentor of Suga) and WooSung of The Rose (Korean rock band) is a great listen. I suggest the fanmade MV by elisssa as she put together a fabulous video! Sakamoto composed the piano music for Snooze and sadly passed away the winter before the D-Day album release and is seen in clips in this mv.

I think everyone told you BTS are the BEST. Jhope is a good rapper, but in BTS I would place him third. RM and Suga have years longer experience of rapping. Before I heard BTS I didn't like listening to rap, but I enjoy BTS's rap songs.
