My first time in Gurage to celebrate one of Ethiopia's biggest holiday - Meskel | የመስቀል በዓል በጉራጌ 

This holiday is a yearly religious holiday in the Ethiopian Orthodox Church, which commemorates the discovery of the True Cross in the fourth century and for the Gurage people, we should all know that festival is the most important annual event that lasts more than a week.
Experiencing a cultural immersion in a the Gurage villages is one of the highlights of my trips in Ethiopia- not to mention the journey up here, which affords some amazing views, fresh air and of course friends and family that make it hard to stop smiling for even one a day. Very thankful for the experience and I would advise each and everyone of you to find a friend or family and head over to their homes in the Gurage Region to eat some amazing food and most importantly make memories that last forever. I hope the upcoming Meskel holiday to be as bright and as amazing as this one has been.
