the philippines is relatively safe because they are some of the nicest and friendliest people in the world, but yes, i still would not recommend for a lady to ever travel anywhere alone.

My first time flying from the US to the Philippines went from Baltimore to Detroit to Nagano, Japan and then to Manila which only took 22 1/2 hours of travel time which was the longest traveling that I ever was on by myself.

Layne Fable What a coincidence, I stayed at the Garden Orchid (hotel) in Zamboanga. One night a slight noise and movement at the foot of the bed woke me up. I could see a dark shadow stand up and run toward the bathroom, then I heard a scurrying and shuffling and people climbing back into the crawl space entrance in bathroom ceiling. I woke my girlfriend and told her someone’s in the room, and she picked up the phone, which dials the front desk automatically. The operator told her, don’t worry, It’s Just the Ghosts. No, it turns out it was a robbing crew who had been in every room on the top floor that night. Lucky I didn’t get kidnapped or get my neck slit. There was a hand smudge on the wall directly above my head, which means a lookout was watching me sleep.
