Shulk: There's a voice inside, and it's getting louder. It's saying "make them pay" Reyn: You sure that's not me in there? First playthrough: Funny character moment Second Playthrough: AHHHHHHHH-
@@river_g MAJOR spoilers for the end of the game There’s an evil god sleeping inside of Shulk. This god is the one who created the Monado, which is why Shulk can use it.
dunban doesn’t have a broken arm. His muscles have been damaged. The cellular structure of his arm as a whole was probably damaged. Cause the Monado uses ether. It’s like constant electricity running through your arm.
@@Mario2980Sure but the point was that Sarah questioned why he wasn't wearing a cast. A cast wouldn't help here because it's nerve damage and not a broken bone
Don’t know if this was pointed out or otherwise observed during your play through, but a fact about the world I always love to point out: The sun is stationary in the sky. If you sit and watch the sunset, you’ll see that it simply “goes out” at night. As a result, along with simply the structure of the world, a lot of unique weather conditions exist on Bionis. First: Colony 9. Due to its position at the calf/ankle of Bionis, it never rains here, being sheltered by the thigh. Colony 6: This happens to be located on a very specific part of Bionis’ anatomy...add to that, it is built on top of an ether mine, and ether is confirmed to be the Bionis’ blood...so yeah, basically Colony 6’s economy relies on Bionis having a perpetual boner. For some less disturbing Colony 6 news, if you look down from the Splintered Path, you can actually see Colony 9. Makna Forest: located on the Bionis’ back, the sun is constantly shining on it, and the disk sweeping back from its head prevents much water from evaporating. This results in a very humid jungle environment. THE REMAINING AREAS I AM ABOUT TO MENTION WERE NOT SEEN IN THIS VIDEO. With that warning... Eryth Sea: at the head of the Bionis, this place also has the sun constantly shining on it, but water is able to evaporate, making the area quite tropical. The proximity to the sun also adds to the warmth. Valak Mountain: this area is covered in snow and ice, and is very cold for one simple reason: it lies in the Bionis’ shadow. The warmth of the sun never touches this area. TL;dr This game is super well thought out and is one of the things that makes it freaking amazing.
The "perpetual boner" thing reminds me of Zone of the Enders, where the pilot seat is in a pod that sticks out from between the legs of the mechs they pilot. A whole different take on a "cockpit."
Guess that means I have to say no homo before entering the mines. Right? Course, It's already too late for that since I'm already my 5th playthrough and passed that part XD
So happy to see people give Xenoblade another chance, a lot skipped it when it was on the Wii and 3DS because of its bad graphics, not knowing how much they were missing out. It's been my favorite game for a few years, since I played it on the 3DS and I'm so glad you enjoyed it!
I never played the original on the Wii, and played it all the way to the final boss on the 3ds, but never beat it. I don't think I did enough side quests. It's great that this got an updated port.
Ehh I mean the only reason people didn’t play it on the wii was because of lack of advertising. The graphics for the wii and 3ds were actually amazing for what the console/handheld could accomplish but yeah I’m glad more people are seeing this marvel of a game.
A woman of culture I see. This game was, and still is, my all-time favorite. Edit: I got this game sometime around.... the first release on Wii. And now, I got to experience this on updated graphics and music.
KennyMaximum yeah, I’m convinced that everyone is trying to pretend she doesn’t get put back into the party to not spoil the reveal....or they all either dropped the game an hour in or never played.
@@leojohnson5246 Yeah they made me buy both xc2 and xcde, and i hated them at first. They were hyped way too much. But playing them back a while later, I love them now.
Beholds shirtless dunban: WHAT Also: "it's probably because of that one guy, the traitor" ah yes hahaha No seriously this is my favorite game since 2015 when i played the 3d edition and never changed
The introduction to this game is so freaking godly, it shows that not always things will go as planned even with the power of seeing the future, but at the end you can change it to your will It's so good
idk anything about the community for this game now OR back when this came out, and i only played this for the first time when the definitive edition came out but is the general consensus in the playerbase that people were surprised by that? because it was like completely obvious i mean, same voice as the guy in the intro that turned on dunban, and they take the time to establish RIGHT before that the monado cant hurt people, then this mech that cant be damaged by the monado shows up, like what else could it have been?
you're here for THAT, aren't you? This is completely obvious when you rush the story, it might not be that obvious when you take your time, do ton of side content explore etc as you might struggle linking events and remembering every detail. Lot of people would forget metal face voice by the time he first speaks outside colony 6 if they don’t rush
@@oursinpacifique8269 as a first time player i caught on right before prison island after thinking it over, the evidence is there, the fact that he looks at dunban right before he leaves colony 9, he runs away every time they get an edge on him, his fighting style and the fact he tuants dunban about the monado at times.
ThekidMarl and yet it might flow over people head. Him looking at dunban at colony might appear as a simple « dramatic effect », it is a detail that many people miss, or players might think it is related to him being the hero of sword valley. Same for the taunts about the monado(before prison island). The fact that he runs aways has nothing to do with his identity? His fighting style, i suppose you are talking about his claws? Cause you can’t really recognize his fighting style yourself (still talking about before prison island). At prison island it becomes 100% clear who he is assuming you remember him (i have seen « wait who is this guy ? » at the « reveal » at valak mountain ). Still, you say you caught up before prison island? The actual reveal is precisely at prison island so it pretty much matched it. The more obvious hints would be his voice, the claws, and his behaviour with dunban but this particular thing is easily missable. Once you put it together and if you remember the guy, it becomes obvious. But not everyone does that :) what i like is that the game gives you OBVIOUS hints, but one might miss those hints 🤷♀️
@@oursinpacifique8269 Him running away every battle when it got tough is cowardly just like the begining when the battle got tough, and he just wanted the monado he ran off, they use similar wepons when i meant there fighting is similar.
5:23 - 5:28 This version is called “Definitive Edition” for a reason. The Wii Version didn’t look this gorgeous. The Switch Version does in fact look gorgeous.
Yeah, I kinda feel spoiled that this was my first experience with the game. The original still looks really good for the Wii, but I chuckled the first time I saw the original character models in a cutscene.
So great to see this game is finally getting the credit it deserves. It’s been one of my favorite games since I played it a few years ago and It’s amazing more people can enjoy this fantastic game thanks to the rerelease. Hope you had a great time playing this masterpiece!!!
EVERYBODY’S BLIND PLAYTHROUGHS AND LETS PLAYS OF THIS LEGENDARY GAME DESCRIBED BY A FEW WORDS. Chuggaaconroy: Truly the start of this wonderful story. Joseph Anderson: Ha ha ha, funny meme. Reyn time! NicoB: The inner workings of his mind are an enigmatic experience. NintendoCaprisun: Kept you waiting until I joined the bandwagon. Failboat: Who wants lööps. And possibly some questionable words JohneAwesome: Here’s how you beat this boss and what we’re doing in this episode ProtonJon: frick it, I’ll play this game anyway since Emile and Tim have played it already.
I'm curious what you thought about the game being localized by a completely British team. The original wasn't going to be released in North America, so Nintendo EU did the localization for Europe. I feel like it gives the game a different feel from most other 'jrpgs' out there.
Gale Slash! Electric Gutbuster! Whatever his topple art is named! letting those three rip at the beginning of fight and then seeing Shulk and Reyn go ham is always great
I just finished the game for the first time last week - it was such an emotional ride! Reliving the emotions through your video now is so great and intense :). Thanks for the videos and for the time you took to cut them together!
This is also my first time playing Xenoblade, I never played the original game on the Wii. I haven't even started chapter 8 yet because I been doing a lot of side quests and exploring around lol So far my favorite characters are Shulk, Melia and Riki :) But I also like the other characters as well but anyways great video :D
This game was already gorgeous when it came out 10 years ago, and I loved it so much. My jaw still hit the floor a couple of times when I played this version because everything was so much more beautiful. Also, the song "Riki, the legendary Hero" is played during the cutscene early on when Vangarre bullies his men. Oh, and Melia is voiced by Jenna Coleman.
I just started playing this myself a couple days ago! I bought the original game back during Operation: Rainfall, but never played more than a few minutes for some reason. My brother is a big fan of the series, though. When the third game came out, it was great seeing all the positive reception toward it, which made me want to finally dive into the series. Now I'm finally starting starting my 180+ hour playthrough of the series, with an already overwhelming backlog... oh boy... Also, at 9:26 My brother: Wow, they really did just spoil the whole game there. Me: O.o
I remember playing this masterpiece exactly 10 years ago, and i’m playing it again now on my Switch and i still have chills listening to the soundtracks
I only played Xenoblade for the first time this year. Loved every second of it. The collector's edition is one of the first that I've had that is really worth the money.
omg omg omg omg! This is the best Xenoblade blind playthrough react i ever saw. This is awesome! I ended up going to your twitch to rewatch all the streams. i especially love it when u kept quiet because your totally focus on the cutscene. i love how u respect the well paced cutscene by paying total attention. I watch plenty of other xenoblade stream, many streamers TRY to continuously say something, or interact with chat while watching xenoblades' epic bombardment of plot twist scene, but they end up missing a lot of things going on in the cutscene. i felt a sense of disconnection, as they miss these small little details during cutscene. with your streams @sarahkey , i felt a sense of rapport when watching ur stream. In the end, thats what viewers who like RPG want to see - another person's total immersive in the world that we like. keep the part 2 coming! looking forward to it
i remember when i played this game, since the moment Dunban enters the party i made him party leader XD (at some point i even taked out shulk, but yeah monado was a need at some points).
20:48 “Fiona” All jokes aside, it’s great seeing someone’s first experience with the game! I also needed to spend the first few minutes just looking at the title screen and taking everything in.
I loved this playthrough of yours. I played the original on the Wii, but it was nice seeing it fully realized in the Definitive Edition and to watch someone play it for the 1st time! It's such an epic, super thrilled you got as much out of it as I did the 1st time through!
I know this playthrough is 3 years old but I have a few facts about Xord. Xord, when he was human, has a daughter (Désirée) back in colony 9 and she even talks about how he died in the battle of Sword Valley a year ago, he was a black Smith and his business had the name Xord in it, so Xord is not his real name (unfortunately we do not actually find out his real name), and unfortunately 'Xord' was a prototype mechon unlike Metal Face. This means that there was not a human inside. They took out his brain and nervous system along with some organs out of 'Xord's' human body and put them inside the mechon. That is why Xord is so... out there. It's really sad
I'm in the middle of playing this aswell and I lost track because I took a break (cus of mental health probs x) ) so this part 1 is gonna be a really nice refresher. Loving your channel so far! Subscribed! And yeah the music is beyond amazing. I literally left the title screen on for over 2 hours one day 🤣.
I played Xenoblade Chronicles on the Wii and cried when I beat it. When it was revealed to be coming to Switch I cried again. This game is a classic. Love your reaction to Duncun (ign joke) Dunban is my second favorite character. The title screen is beautiful. This whole game is beautiful. Am I done with my novel comment? Yup! Subscribed haha!
@@SarahKey That game is a wild ride! I was gonna skip 2 and go to 3, but now there’s no way I could do that! Thanks again for posting this vid, even if it’s a fee years old!
Dunban is amazing! He's been my fav since I played the original Wii version! Love his new HD look, especially with the jungle outfit. His hair in a ponytail is so hot! Great reactions!
As someone who recently beat this game for the first time and now considers it to be one of my favorite rpgs of all time, I now love seeing people play it for the first time.
Always fun to see someone expedience Xenoblade Chronicles for their first time. I thank your chat for suggesting you to stay at the title screen. It's the best one I've experienced in a game.
21:45 Yea it's called having favourite games and not playing anything outside your comfort zone. The joys of childhood, getting dreams from games. The perks of adulthood, getting to buy any game you want and reliving them for the first time ^_^
If you liked Xenoblade you’ll probably also like the other xeno games (if you haven’t played them already). Xenoblade 2, xenogears and the xenosaga trilogy are all story heavy and they all have great casts of characters. Xenoblade x is also really good but the story was a lot weaker because there was a bigger focus on exploration.
I’m not going to lie, when I got the Definitive Edition on release, I just sat on the title screen for a few minutes and cried over the music. So freaking happy this game got a remaster.
I think that my favorite thing about xenoblade is the fact that the monado works against mechon not because it's a cool laser sword, and it can be equated to cutting butter with a 4 dimensional butter knife
Yaaaaas Melly's in this video! God, I really wish she could be a fighter in Super Smash Bros. cuz she's got the most interesting playstyle of any mage I've played
Yeah!! Please continue on! Subscribed! This is my fav of all time! By the way this game is best when played freely outside of the main story please do ALL the side quest. Cause you will end up doing it any after the first play through
