It can be quite the fun journey depending on how far you want to go down the fandom. Most come for the music, the rest stay because they love the girls outside the music 😊
Enjoy BLACKPINK music & knowing the background of the members it quite interesting but you dont have necessary to engage with the fandom if you dont want to.
They're actually the biggest girl group right now, not just in Kpop. They are the 2nd most subscribed artist EVER. 61M subs. The only artist above them is Justin Bieber at 63M. 3 of their music videos EACH have over a Billion views. They are the most viewed artist in 2020 (5 Billion views just this year). Over 2 billion streams in Spotify alone. They are also the first Kpop group to perform at Coachella. BTS and BLACKPINK are untouchable at this point and Im so proud to be a fan of both groups.
@@ken-6373 I'm sure they'll do great if they do get to perform. They're already very loved in the US. ❤️ As a fan of multiple groups especially BLACKPINK and BTS these fandom wars don't even make sense and it makes me question if these people are truly "fans". Kinda ironic that our faves preach of positivity, loving oneself, others, and being confident, yet these people are not honoring that.
@@riizelover7 jeaolusy for What? Your comment is so stupid, it's not about me, it's about three other girls who are perfectly capable as Lisa but the only one who stands up is her because toxic fandom. That's facts. She's not better than anyone but the fans treats her like a goddess and that stupid behave hurts the other girls. Since EVER.
@@riizelover7 u don't have arguments like all the Lisa's fans. Perfect. I'm showing my jealousy? That's showing your ignorace and emptiness. No surprise.
Baby blink?! They all speak multiple languages. As amazing as they are, it's their individual personalities that make you fall in love. Lisa has her own RU-vid channel called lilifilmofficial where she posts her viral dances.
JENNIE is the girly that came in spitting straight FIRE on the bedazzled tank. She is fuego! Flames! Crazy rapper with great flow and delivery and also a super strong vocalist! She's known as the ACE of Blackpink because she does both roles so well (amongst other things as well).
Gurlll fact! I've been a kpopfan for 14 years.. yes oldie here lol. YG makes music that's catchy, easy to sing along and stuck in your head for days, months years!! Lol.
Honestly, just be free to say your theories and perspective. I don't get why people come for her just because she said her perspective. Anyone should be free to theorize about what's going on. That's what makes it more enjoyable. Lol, she's gonna need this skill when she reacts to Songs like BST.
Sometimes she thinks too hard about it, but that's fine. I enjoy hearing her theories. Thanks for reacting to all these songs, I love watching every reaction.
Jennie started her utube channel last week. Set world record million subscribers in less than 7hrs. She did it on her birthday 🎂 a present for the world.
First one is Jennie: Jennie is main rapper and lead vocalist Second is Lisa: Lisa is main dancer, lead rapper and sub vocalist Third is Rose:main vocalist and lead dancer Fourth is Jisso: jisoo is main visual and lead vocalist My bias are all 💜💜 I am OT4😂 If you want to know them I suggest (a crack guide to blackpink 2020) by Kil mixes And thank you for the reaction 🙂
Seriously one of the best reactions I’ve seen in a while. I loved your edits. They were hilarious. More than that though, your excitement and enthusiasm for the video and the Pinks was awesome. Very entertaining to watch and believe you’re well on your way to becoming a blink. Don’t take comments too seriously. Kpoppers can be passionate 😉. I truly hope you continue on the Blackpink journey. You won’t regret it, promise. I suggest 2-3 more m/vs then a guide like Crack Guide to Blackpink 2020. Looking forward to more reactions. Thx!
Wow thank you for your comment! Means a lot! And yeah I’m trying to push through the hate comments and just do me and pay attention to the people who are loving and encouraging!!! 💜
I loved your reaction to The Revolution of Blackpink. So fun and made me so happy to see you excited and shocked learning about them💛 It's always nice seeing New people join the Blinks fandom😘

Oh honey you are falling into the K-Pop hole where the music is fire, the choreo is top notch and the MVs are a treat for the eyes...welcome! haha Other groups/songs I would suggest (just to start haha) Ateez - Inception and Thanxx Straykids - Gods Menu and Easy Seventeen - Don't Wanna Cry and Home Run Mamamoo - Aya and Hip TXT (they are kinda like BTS' little brothers) - Runaway and Puma
Great reaction. Jennie is the Main Rapper, lead vocal and center of the group. She's fire, an ACE indeed. For me one of the most versatile and talented members👑🔥. Love Blackpink🖤💖
Please try “Ateez”, it’s another kpop group and they’re amazing artists! songs: - Hala Hala - Say My Name - Promise - Wave - Wonderland - Answer - Fever - Thanxx - Inception - To The Beat they produce and write their own songs and give a lot to their fans, for example their band name was literally picked by fans! they’re pretty underrated and i’d love if you gave them a try! :)
Yasss they are queens! there are so many good K-pop groups out there, I’m happy you are diving into some different ones as well. “Kill This Love” from Black Pink is one you should check out as well 😊 Every year there’s a new group debuting so you have a lot to catch up to! As an ARMY but also as a K-pop fan in general I appreciate you reacts and I’m looking forward for the next group or song that you might watch ❤️ love from 🇧🇷
6:13 that's the queen of Kpop and rap queen JENNIE 🔥She is the main rapper , lead vocalist and centre of the group And there is another rapper who rapped first who said fact check her name is Lisa and She is the lead rapper of the group Main >>> Lead
BLACKPINK choreo will never be like BTS choreo, if that's what you were expecting. Male choreography is always different as body strength plays into the movements. Female K-Pop choreo has more subtlety, it's more feminine but also slightly sexy. They do have more difficult choreos but most of them are made so that a fan can learn it. One of my favorites is *DON'T KNOW WHAT TO DO DANCE PRACTICE* (there's no M/V for it), which is beautiful to watch.
Thanks for the information! The dance was still good to me! A lot of people mentioned to check out their dance practices to see more from them so I’ll definitely do that!
@@caitlinbensonn Yes, the HOW YOU LIKE THAT DANCE PERFORMANCE is good, they also had a short predebut teaser dance practice to B*TCH BETTER HAVE MY MONEY that's dope: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-3fg8pyLKvXE.html
YES! Omg, I need to see Cailtin react to God's Menu. I mean, all Stray Kids songs are fantastic, but that one I feel like will have her brain on the floor in the best way, haha.
Fellow BLINK-here; just found the channel: "Just reached over a thousand subscribers ---" flashback comment you made; congrats to 213K (here in 2022!).
So glad you're also reacting to Blackpink! They are what really got me into Korean music. After seeing them in concert and being obsessed with them I then found BTS and have never left the rabbit hole. Another great reaction!
They typically only outdo their own world records. It’s just absurd the views they get. But they deserve it. They work so hard. Their live stuff is amazing. They kill it live. Kill. It. Every. Damn. Time. Coachella set Tokyo dome live set (they have Korean lyrics but in Japan Jennie mixes English and Japanese raps and Lisa raps strictly in English) They used a live band and sing and rap live while dancing. In their live sets you can hear the fans singing at points meaning the mic is live. Their main singer Rose has a stunning angelic voice. Let it be is her solo stage on their world tours and it’s just stunning. Her and a piano. Lisa is known for her dancing. Probably the best female dancer in music period right now. Her swalla solo stage at their concerts is amazing. Her Lili films 1-4 are her dancing and amazing. Jennie released her song solo with YG and it’s amazing. She wrote the song and styled her outfits for the MV. 22 outfits. All perfection. And Jisoo is about to star in a Korean tv show in 2021. She’s filming now. In kpop if the member is popular enough they get solo stuff as well. All BP members will have or have had solo work. Lisa has the Lili films. Jennie has the song solo. YG has announced that Rose and Lisa will release their solo music after their concert at the end of this month. Jisoo will release hers after the tv show. And Jennie already has released hers. Also their dance practices are amazing.
VIDEO EXPLANATION: I'm writing this because I dont see any on the comments. Though the choreo wasnt showcased much here, i believe the girls made more room for the more meaningful scenes to shine. This song is basically talking about their freedom as artists, career wise and society wise where they are heavily criticized constantly. In the beginning, you'll see Lisa with the burst of powder in the shape of wings which represents freedom and is also represented with the bird resting on her hand later on in the MV. It was a cockatoo which also means change and self love. She was followed by Jennie who was seated as a queen in a chess game. It shows that she's now willing to make her own choices and win the game she's playing at her own terms. This idea was strengthened by the scene where Lisa appears with a Katana which also symbolizes strength and fight. Third to appear is Rosé, who if you didnt notice has 2 personas. One in black looking up to another Rosé who is in a gown. The latter is the Rosé everyone knows and sees while the one looking up to her is the real Rosé. It shows that the glamorous version of herself is just a facade and underneath it is just an ordinary simple girl. She's not always queen like and pampered. At some point you will see her sitted in a chandelier mirroring that of a bird cage, it symbolizes that sometimes it can feel restricting to have people always looking at you like youre an idol with no feelings. Still she swings til she's broken free of that cage. For Jisoo, the scene with the mural was most significant. Notice that the people around her admired the picture where she looked beautiful- it was the Jisoo society wanted.. always perfect, prim and proper. They liked her and loved her for it. However, the moment she falls down and makes a mistake, people prey at her and criticize her forgetting that she's just a human being. Hence the holding of the phones like guns most probably referring to criticisms they receive on social media. Still she stands up against those criticisms and brush them off. In the end, they show their power and celebrate saying that they arent always what they seem and they can and will stand up for themselves. They will come back at haters by proving themselves hence the mimicking of the gunshots 'ddu du ddu' as koreans say them.
As a 3 year old blink (blackpink fan) and you are so right when this song dropped they were on a year hiatus so they came back with this song and a mini album called square up manyyyy fans were ready to see what they had prepared and it was a turning point in this career . They were famous since day 1 because their members Jennie (rapper and lead singer), Jisoo (lead singer), (Lisa lead rapper and main dancer) and Rose (like the wine, main singer),they are very unique rn they are KILLING IT. I know this reaction is from dec 2020 but they are internally known along with BTS. This song got many views for two reasons fans and Kpop fans were expecting it it had 2 rap verses from the two rappers, good distribution, aesthetic MV and it has a savage message, when Jason falls the cameras are on her as guns which is a good messages for public figures because a bad picture can ruin them but the song is about hitting them with the best they got fall down 9 times and get up 10. Also many international fans came to know of them and it is a catchy song as you said ! Catchy choruses and moves usually do good for the general population.
hi Caitlin, I'm from Indonesia, and I just wanted to tell you that your videos make me really happy, and whenever I'm sad or down, I always rewatch your videos because your videos really cheered me up, so thank you for accompanying me Caitlin! I love youu!❤ Sorry for my bad english😅
I really reccomend checking out Stray Kids! They have one of the best rap lines out there, and they produce their own songs (talent) . their beats are very unique and insane. God's Menu, Back Door and Miroh are a good place to start 😁 enjoying your reactions!
I love your reactions I would love to see your 'Spring day-BTS' reaction There is a really good story behind that song And spring day is still trending in korean music charts even if its been more than 4 years since release. Warning- You might end up crying (like I did ) if you understand the whole story [Read the comments after watching the mv to understand more about it]
A little warning You gonna hear and see so many hate comments about bp their company their music their dancing their mvs their lyrics But i wanna tell you that aside from their music their personalities are the second big reason why we love them so much and their relationship with each other To know more about them i recommend you to wath Blackpink journey and friendship
The rapper girl, I wont exaggerate, but still still she's a very good rapper, she can rap 8 syllables per second, and her flow is natural, not over the top.
I'm a little late, I'm so glad RU-vid recommended your video! This channel is fire! Also you should check out their Coachella Ddu Ddu Du performance, it'll tell you everything why they became known in the world and in US. Their MVs are great, but their live performance is next to no one!
Jennie is rapping first and third, Lisa in there spitting bars too, then sweet pretty rose is on the pedestal and then there Jisoo's elegant self hanging out in the fire rain..
When she said “They introduced me to it with the BlackPink” Me: uhmm oof BlackPink in your area queen like SAMEEEEEEEEEEEE They always say BlackPink in your area or BlackPink and that gets me going
TBH just go to their official YT page and go through all the M/Vs one by one they are all good and you won't be disappointment in any of them. Plus there really aren't that many so 💁. If you're hooked by then, then you can start diving into their live performances, covers, and dance practices. If you want some quick guides to get acquaint with the girls I suggest: A Beginner's Guide to Blackpink! (who is who?) ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-Gs6ITJlq3FQ.html for the most basic of intros of the members and the group an (un)helpful guide to blackpink (2019 version) ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-xDytxsf66nQ.html to get an idea of the personalities and some Blink inside jokes. A bit outdated now but still a good primer and the most newbie friendly IMHO. Hope you have fun falling down the rabbit hole.
Thank You!! So far the best reaction video of BlackPink🖤 💗 I Just started my BlackPink journey a few months ago and As a 35 yr old from St. Louis, I can tell you Kpop is not a thing around here (at least not in my age demographic )lol , so I like to watch reaction videos and seeing people getting just as excited as I am about this group lol! I hope there's more reactions like this!
Love the reaction. You have lots of good options to choose for your next reaction, as Blackpink only have good M/V's. Their 2 debut songs were "Boombayah" (over 1B views) and "Whistle" (one of my faves, and the only M/V where they have used green screen). "How You Like That" was a big hit from this year, 700M hits in 6 months. And their latest official M/V is "Lovesick Girls". People often say that the choreo is less difficult for female groups in K-pop. In the case of Blackpink, I think you need to see their dance practice videos and/or live performances to really appreciate how good their dancing is, especially as far as synchronization. One thing to keep in mind is that they sing live for their performances, and with only 4 of them they have to have choreo which allows them enough breath to sing. "Forever Young" and "Don't Know What To Do" are great dance practice videos without any official M/V for the songs. There are also 4 very short dance performance videos by Lisa (the one with the bangs and the "fat checks") called LiLi Films. She is widely considered to be one of the best dancers in K-pop. I hope you enjoy your journey into becoming a Blink!
I suspect you will really like "Pretty Savage", which has a few performance videos and lyric videos, but no M/V. However, I'd watch a few of the others first.
Actually the song have kind of deep meaning Start with lisa 1 A burst of pink smoke gives Lisa wings, which represent flight and freedom. This strongly connects her and the pink cockatoo that appears later on 2 As queen, Jennie is in a position to defend the black king while putting the white king in check. She easily takes out the white king, winning the game 3 In the scene, Lisa is surrounded by an eclectic collection of objects, including a shelf full of books. One of these books is Escape from Camp 14: One Man’s Remarkable Odyssey from North Korea to Freedom in the West. This book tells the true life story of a man who escapes from a North Korean prison camp. This adds to the video’s themes of perseverance and freedom. 4 Two Rosés star in this scene. The Rosé in black looks up at the Rosé in white, who is on display like a beautiful statue. The white Rosé has, quite literally, been put on a pedestal and represents the version of herself that the public sees. This Rosé is covered in crystals and has been crowned like a queen. She looks too perfect to be real. The Rosé in black represents Rosé’s true self. She moves through the scene like a shadow, dressed in a much simpler outfit. This Rosé is not crowned because, underneath all the glamor, she is just an ordinary human being 5 In this scene, we see two Jisoos. One is an unchanging, infallible image. The other is a living, breathing, real person. Fans take admiring photos of her image, but as soon as she makes a mistake, the “fans” turn their phone on her like guns. This symbolizing how photos and social media can be used to build someone up as easily as they can tear someone down. It also shows how one little mistake can damage an idol’s image and turn admirers against them.
