Hey guys!
It's been a while since I've last uploaded a video, but the car is almost done!!
Throughout this video, I showcase my first time ever laying my hands on vinyl wrap. Better yet, I decided to learn how to wrap using a film that's known as "the hardest vinyl wrap" to wrap with. On top of that, I am wrapping over primer!
To answer some questions for y'all:
Question: Can you Wrap over primer?
Answer: Yes, yes you can! I removed the paint from the original surface, put on self etching primer, then filler primer, block sanded the car using 320-400 grit, then added automotive primer as the final layer, then sanded that up to 1500-2000 grit. It is VERY important that you clean the surface with alcohol and make sure it's dry before spraying primer, and to make sure you use a sanding block to sand so that you won't get any waves on larger panels.
Question: Was using Inozetek difficult?
Answer: Honestly, no. I haven't used any other brands of vinyl wrap before so I can't make a direct comparison. However, Inozetek's vinyl is known to be "pre-stretched" and low tack (using heat to activate the adhesive). It was actually very nice once you get the hang of it. After you cut the piece off, you take off the protective plastic sheet on top of the film, then try your best to lay it down without stretching or heating. You'd want to save that for the final touches or if you have no other choice. After the first one or two panels, it was quite easy to work with after I got the hang of it, but we'll see how the corners hold up over time!
I also ran out of material in the next episode as a pre-face LOL

Couldn’t have done it or even been remotely close to getting to where it’s at without my friends 🤣 forever grateful for every single one of them. Cheers 🍻

Its interesting the door and front fender are a slight different shade, considering you used the same roll. Kudos on all the effort and teamwork!

How are the glue lines? I’ve heard inozetek is more of a “one shot” wrap and anytime you lift it is less forgiving than other wraps.

It’s very low tack, which isn’t a bad thing imo. Lifting was actually pretty forgiving, you just need to heat it (to activate the adhesive, according to them) to really get it to stick. I don’t have any experience with other brands so I can’t make a direct comparison, but I can say that we lifted quite a good amount on many panels and had absolutely no issues, even on primer. I think it’s very important to prep the surface well so the base it clean and won’t lift up any contaminants when you do lift.
