I honestly really needed to hear that last thing. I have so much anxiety over just bad things happening in general and am so avoidant of so many things its weirdly relieving to be reminded its part of life and worrying wont make bad things not happen.

I just lost my cat while on a trip and I’m devastated but I watched this and it made me feel so much better so thank you Ilissa.

You've got a good fella there, glad he was there for you. People who don't have pets can't possibly understand the connection. One of my cats is in kidney failure now & will be put down on Monday. It's sad for me, but he's in a bad way and I can't watch him suffer like this. He was a rescue and I figure he's had a better life with me than without me. So, I can certainly sympathize with anyone facing that kind of trauma.

I know this video is 3 years old and no one is gonna read this anyway but I relate so much to the situation with ur cat! My dog died when I was at a weekend trip with my friends and when my parents called me and told me they would go to the vet today my stomach literally turned cuz I couldn’t handle the thought of me not getting to say goodbye to him. Luckily my family and friends made it possible that I could travel back in time and see him one last time so imagining how you must have felt is horrible!

I'm so sorry for your loss. I myself lost my cat. I understand the feeling you have, it's (probably cus that was my feeling) a mix of saddness, anger, guilt and shame, all at once and that is very VERY overwhelming. But, i hope that cat heaven exists and cheeto watches you from above and is happy. Again, so so sorry for your loss

I love how little drawings of Cheeto- or just other orange cats- were littered everywhere during the video. (Examples: 4:01, 4:23 5:31) This just seemed to show that even when illy was trying to relax, her loving cat always seemed to be on her mind. That's just heart-warming.

I’m sorry for Cheeto, I know what it means to lose a pet that is really close to you, once I had a dog, his name was Rex, he died last summer, it was really hot so he just couldn’t hold it, he died. The worst is that I wasn’t even there for him, beacause I was in another town for the summer, and then a few weeks later, my grandma died, she had been suffering from cancer for months, I wasn’t there for her either. I hope they are in a better place. I know it’s hard illysa, but you don’t have to worry, Cheeto will always be there for you even if you don’t see her. My deepest condolences -Alessandro

my cat recently got diagnosed with pretty aggressive breast cancer and this video really spoke to me I know Kima won't last forever and she's doing okay right now, but things could always turn for the wordt thank you for making these videos illy

My cat also died in december of 2018 (Dec 1st) I miss her a lot but at least she had a happy life and i believe your cat also had a really happy life with you

Wow that's exactly how my trip was in japan It was twenty years ago it may be thirty But living in japan was great and I learned the language quite quickly

I honestly cried when I heard about the kitty because not so long ago: My cat that I’ve had since I was two was put down for a kidney failure which he was also suffering silently. We decided to get him treatment, he stayed in his bed all day in so much pain. The next Monday he got really bad and was sent to the vet to spend some days there, I didn’t say goodbye to him because I didn’t know they were sending him there cause I was in school. I was like ok, no no deal he will be fine. Fast forward Thursday I was with my two of my bffs on swimming training. We finished and the very next day I had a exam AND a very very important presentation. I got in my moms car ready to go home when my dad called.... He asked how I was doing, I didn’t knew what he was talking about so he asked if mom had already told me about Salem (that was his name because he was a gorgeous black cat with yellow eyes) I started getting tears in my eyes and asked what he was talking about, turns out my cat had been put down that morning. My mom got on the car (she was talking to another mom) and saw me pouring my eyes out. She immediately knew what was going on. She immediately said that she was sorry for not telling me because 1. I had a exam and a presentation the next day and she didn’t want to distract me and 2. My bffs were supposed to come with me to “Valle de bravo” to my house there to spend the halloween weekend together and she didn’t want me to be miserable on a event that I had been planing for months. Of course we all cried for a wile in the parking lot and finally went home. The next day was Thursday 31 of October 2019 ( because I’m from mexico my school there celebrated on the 1 of November on Friday, day of the death) and I still HAD to go to school because this presentation and exam were worth almost half of my final grade. My very best friend saw that I was very sad in the hallway and asked what happened. I told her we should rather talk in the bathroom. There I just couldn’t hold it I again started pouring my eyes out and told her what happened. She hugged me and told me it would be alright. We went to class and by the end of second period my friend had told all of our friend group what had happened. They all came rushing to hug me and most of the school noticed so suddenly all the classmates and teachers were comforting me. It was honestly very nice of them and not really overwhelming. The next day my friends came to Valle we had a blast and mourned my kitty cats death. This cat was my best friend I’ve had him since I was two and always dreamed to take him to college but in the end I think I can finally let go of him. Salem the black cat died on Wednesday October 30 2019 a day before halloween and two days before day of the death. I can really say he was a good cat and my bff. ( before I started writing this it was all bright and sunny and I’ve just noticed that now the sky is pouring water, it’s like Salem is telling me he is alright )

I’ve had to watch too if my sweet puppers pass on and it’s so sad but sometimes it’s the best option for them. But you never forget the great times you had with them. Life is valuable because it ends so we have to cherish it. :)

When i was younger i was at the theater having the time of my life practicing for a play. When practice was over i was in my grandfathers car and he looked over to me and said, we had to put jack (my old cat) down today I felt powerless and quite frankly shook to my core. I was enjoying myself while my family had to make one of the hardest decisions of their lives and i couldn’t even say goodbye to him. I understand how you felt and i know how it feels to lose a pet that has been with you for most of your life.

I was vending at an important convention when I found out one of my best friends had died in an accident. I still sold that weekend, I still went to the water park, and watched anime with friends, but you know I also cried in that dealers room right there at my table and then in a moment in front of the staff. It means a lot to me to hear that you felt it and you felt it hard but it didn't ruin your trip. I somehow carried some guilt for that, but knew I shouldn't have. Thank you.
