I haven't run an ultramarathon since April of 2019. And I missed it.
With long distance adventures looming on the horizon, I wanted to come back to the sport I've been involved in since 2009. But a meniscus tear has questioned my confidence in recent years to see if that was possible.
Enter PCTR and Montaña de Oro 50K - a race series and an event I'd run since the beginning, when things were more low-key and grassroots. It made sense to come back to this race (I had a previous DNF) to retrace my roots and get inspired to run again. Thanks to Greg Lanctot and all the amazing volunteers, photographers and fellow runners out there. It truly was great to be back!

Love it! "it's time to race again." I haven't been in an ultra since 2019 as well. Hopefully will get back soon. I fell into a trap of thinking I was in it for the reasons as well. However, my mantra has been don't be better than I am. I'm in ultras primarily for myself and that is ok! Keep sharing your videos. We all want to watch :)

Amazing video, Billy. Really happy to see you're back out there on the trails again. And that looks like a fantastic race indeed, some spectacular views. It's videos like yours that really keep me going running. I'm slowly getting back into it after a string of injuries, and will have to take it really slowly, day by day. The idea is that'll lead to me being able to cover similar distances somewhere down the road. Please keep on making videos and films as watching them is massive, massive motivation for me and probably countless others out there, too.

Great work Billy! Having torn my medial meniscus twice and lateral once it’s something you can come back from. Just need the right rehab and prehab moving forward. Good luck dude!
