I second that a bold lip can look so beautiful with a bare face! I am very pale, and all I wear everyday is a matte red lip, no base makeup, no eye makeup. I'm a glasses wearer and have dark eyelashes, so the latter doesn't make a huge difference on me anyway, but I have persistent acne. For some reason the red lip makes my scarring and active breakouts fade to the background, despite them being as vivid as the lip
I generally wear a bold lip and nothing else for a casual everyday look, usually blue or green or black or gray but I'll wear any color that matches my outfit, and I love that look. With pandemic times though that is no longer a good idea because I end up with bold lipstick smeared all over my face and on the inside of my mask, so now my quick looks for getting out the door are eye looks only, which is different for me. Of course, I usually just don't wear makeup most days because I can't be bothered to fuss with eye makeup as it's for me the most time consuming part of a makeup routine, but I've really been wanting to get back into more everyday makeup lately. I really enjoyed seeing your version of a quick makeup look, and I think bare eyes with a bold lip can be so stunning.
Hannah, I am so grateful that I tried the Rose Inc concealer and WetnWild glass skin green primer that you recommend! The concealer is a PERFECT match for my neutral, pale skin and the green primer is exceptional. I hope you'll continue to do more self-sponsored reviews because that's how I learned of those mentioned products ❤
today, i was torn between the practicality of not putting on makeup and the fun of putting on a full face. so your video came at the right time! the eyes are a bit out of my comfort zone, but the look helps me to embrace my natural eye shape without lining them. needless to say, i WOULD like to see the eye-heavy look haha
I love the way you do your lipstick. I think the crisp overlined lip look makes people look older than they are. A blurry lip line will always look more fresh and youthful
I am loving this string of bare eye looks on your channel lately, because I am pretty much a no eye makeup girl even at my most done up! It’s my way of never feeling like I’m wearing too much makeup for my own personal preference! I’m also not much of a lip person because I have rather thin lips and a lot of redness in my complexion, but you always inspire me to try and find one lip color that really just works for me!
Yesss to massage-it-in base products for a five minute face! My favorite rub-it-in foundation is Mac’s Face and Body. The more I massage it into my face the more flawless and plump my skin looks, even with the product’s low coverage. I also recently bought the Futuredew from Glossier and have been mixing it half and half with the Mac foundation and the cover is just a whisper…but oh! It’s perfection. At that point all I need is a brow gel and a nice dippity dip of blush.
So I really don’t usually comment on people’s skin, but I thought maybe at the beginning of the video you already had primer on. I know the lights help, but I also know how long you’ve been trying to clear your skin. Your skin looks great and I’m so happy for you. 🖤
I love a good 5 minute face!!!!! To be honest, most days I'm only wearing eye makeup and brows these days. I have to wear a mask to work and my skin hates foundation or any face products under it. I really miss lipstick tho 😭😂
Also, I’ve been doing this same look, sans eye makeup, and it’s sooo comfortable. I never realized that mascara is a bit annoying to feel on your lashes. It’s just nice to be able to rub your eyes!
Congrats on 40k!! I‘m not an influencer myself but I would be very interested in a video on how you manage to grow organically and continously as a channel☺️
I would definitely love to see another variation on this - one focusing on the eyes or somehow going in a slightly different creative direction than this one. I do find it interesting that your go-to look is brows, concealer, blush and lipstick when both blush and lipstick rarely make it into my makeup routine!
I just began making a watch again play list for things like duping the vibes or videos in general that are fun for me to rewatch. I began on Lauren's channel and just went through your entire channel's history. I was looking for dupe the vibes videos and saw your earring collection video and decided I wanted to revisit your handbags. That was so far back that I just went back to the beginning of all time 😁
I am going to try the brush technique. I am ways fussing with the shape so I end up dabbing strong colors down. It might be the finish I'm always trying to achieve.
Your foundation routine reminds me of Wayne Goss’s original foundation brush…I have that, haven’t used it… but will definitely bring it back out and try this. I’ve been having a challenging time with my current dehydrated skin making my foundation look caked and dry - time to switch it up, with what’s already in my stash :-) Thank you so much for your content - I’m loving my current stash and not buying more because of the techniques you’ve taught with making the vibes, using my stash, etc. I also reorganized to showcase my items so that my makeup cabinet enables easy access to ALL my products. AND - I have a bin I’m putting items in that I find I’m negatively attracted to so that I can give them away.
2 biggest problems w my minimal base: pilling and/or lack of drying down. it hurts that the laws of physics are inherently against dewy products drying down and matte products being hydrating. **Kirk screaming Khan** PHYYYYYSSSSSIIIIICCCCSSSS
I have never seen someone use a brush to blot lipstick until recently. I know there are lip brushes but I watched Robert Welsh blot his lipstick with a larger powder brush or blush brush. Seeing you do this reminded me of it. I'll have to give it a try.
Is it just the thought of wearing a foundation that you don't like? Because basically you use concealer as a thinly applied foundation. It's just always been a thought when I watch your videos. Lol Because I know alot of people have an aversion to foundation for a multitude of reasons. I Love your videos and love the thought provoking and self evaluating nature of them. They have really helped me with my over spending/over consuming. Thank you.
Good point. With the right foundation is can look very natural, or you can also just use it like a concealer and only use it where you need it, with a small brush or fingers.
I think I've just never found a foundation that I like as much as the concealers that I like the most. I do use them sometimes (the Sephora Best Skin Ever is in rotation, and the Purito CC cream is arguably a foundation given its level of coverage!). When I use them, I use them exactly the same way I use concealer! It's all the same to me. But I really like the control that I get with a super-concentrated coverage product, I think that's why I tend to pick concealers most of the time.
Yay! A new Hannah video for me to enjoy with lunch :) Side note… after you decluttered the Em cosmetics true glosses, I pulled mine out because I have some similar feelings about them. I found that I prefer to apply a thin layer and sheer it out a lot so that it looks more like a stain. I find it much more preferable than applying it like a normal gloss and it blends into my lips more that way too
This look is giving lovely Dante Gabriel Rossetti vibes 🥀 Bare eyes and eyelashes can be really beautiful. I read someone describe bare eyelids once as delicate like a flower petal and it struck a chord with me.
I feel the same about lipstick that some people feel about eye makeup. Like to me, I have tremendous anxiety about ingesting it or making a mess when I eat or talk. So I almost never wear lip products, as beautiful as I think they are on other people. I also just like to feel prepared to makeout with anyone, not that I ever do 🤣🤣 bit I understand not wanting to fuss with eyes
Love the lip color and brush step. I'm starting to get more fine lines around my lips and have been looking for a way to apply lipstick more softly. Looks amazing on you!
I would love to see the eye version of this! I'm working in-person, so I can't really wear much (if any) makeup on the part of my face that gets covered up with a mask, because I don't like how the mask rubs it off (even when I use setting spray and a little bit of powder). So I've just been doing eye looks mostly, which has been really fun but takes a bit of time.
i’ve been using rum raisin for 3 years now bc for some reason that year i was hyperfixated on 90s beauty trends and thats the lipstick that came up a lot and i love doing the same thing, but i use a nude liner, i pat on rum raisin and blend it out with my finger or a kinda dense eyeshadow brush, and add a little bit of a darker revlon raisin lipstick in the center and down the middle of my bottom lip bc im heavily inspired by late 00s bjd faceup looks lol
I often think of you as like, the ultimate picture of aspirational perfection so I was so happy to see your gray hairs in those close up shots. Embracing my natural hair color has been a fraught part of my budget/minimalism journey and knowing that someone I admire has them too is making me feel better about it.
I really hate how foundation feels on my skin so I am going to have to try this way of applying coverage. I have been eyeing that concealer now because of you! :)
I know you did an updated hair routine video, but I would love to watch a day-by-day updated routine like you did originally! Also would love to see a close up of your lip blurring. It would be nice to see not blended out vs. what you like to wear. Thanks!
Oh, now I'm lost in memory; my late sister used Revlon's Rum Raisin, it was her fall staple. She had really pale skin too although she tanned easily, and black hair, and it looked great on her. On me, turns to rancid rust. Great shade, though.
My 5 minutes makeup is brushing brows with a clear gel and that's it. I used to put some mascara on, but later I'm too lazy for that, even then I actually apply colorful eyeshadow. And a clear lip balm, which is not considered a makeup, just everyday thing.
My five minute face: color corrector primer or a bit of the glossier foundation mixed in with my sunscreen (both have the same effect of slightly evening skin tone), concealer, powder, mascara or eyeliner I usually take a dirty eyeshadow brush and trace over my outer v just to give it a bit of definition. The dirty brush technique is kinda gross, but it's fine, I think if you are the only one using your brushes. I don't do blush unless I'm doing foundation because my face has enough redness as is and my lips are pretty pigmented and always looks like a bold lip. Anyway wearing a mask and drinking my morning coffee on the way to work always interfere with my lippie.
"works particularly well when you are wearing glasses" Pulls out the most flashy 'Hannah' pair ever lol I love that we have the same name but entirely different esthetics
Love your chanel, but I got a giggle watching real time brows.... I think that is why so many influencers speed through, but I choose a slightly lighter, ashy shade on my brows and Im a 60 seconds max girl. No shade though! Love this fresh look! New subscriber, second video and Im hooked!
it looks super pretty on you but I could never haha. Face makeup just comes off on my mask at work so I just do blush and don't bother covering all of my acne as worn off blush looks bad enough haha. Would love to see the eye version, my eyes is what I would do if I only had 5 minutes (plus eyebrows for balance)
I've never been able to do a 5 or even 10 minute face. It takes at least 10 minutes to do my brows lol. I have very sparse, uneven brows so my quick makeup is more like 15 to 20 minutes. If I need to be really quick I just do brows, powder foundation, blush and tinted lip balm.
Oh boy. I hate the look of (my) bare eyes so much , that even if I wear no makeup at all , which is rare, I still do a very quick pencil liner . I just feel so washed out without it. What I do on the 5 minute days, as someone who needs to feel a full face or I feel grungy, is a quick moisturizing primer, then poreless primer, then skip the foundation and just use a BB powder . It’s just enough to even out my complexion without fiddling with blending foundation, and then powdering. The other way I shave off the minutes is a 1 shadow look, either from the cool roen quad , or one of the duochromes from the bottom row of Lila. ♥️
