Eco mode works better in City driving, because its constantly normalizing your Acceleration and RPMs. When you're on the FWY Eco mode just doesn't work as well, that's why when you drive mostly Highway miles, your Sport mode is going to get better gas mileage. However, Sport mode will lose against Eco mode when you do City driving.
I watched this just before my Bronco came in. I am happy to report that with 2000 miles I am averaging 19.5 mpg . Now all we need is fuel to go back to normal prices!
@@stevhn Yes, 2.7 SAS 4 door, it has now settled at 20.2 mpg with 18500 miles. It drops to about 18.5 in the winter. I lost about 1 mpg when I installed the roof rack.
Jorge, next time you take a trip dont use the display to tell you what your fuel economy was, do it the old fashion way by dividing miles by the gallons to refill it back up. It can be a difference and the old fashion way is the most accurate way.
Way better than my '87 Bronco. It used to get 9 to 10 mpg. Had to stop to fill up within 100 miles of 130 mile trip to Rockport Texas. 351 4v. 371 gears. My 2012 F150 4x4SC 3.5 EcoBoost gets around 12 -14 mpg. 19 on a long drive to Florida once. Somehow I doubt you can get that milage. Especially with mixed in city driving.
I have a Ford Bronco Sport - Outer Bank trim. It gets 34 mpg on the highway, which is 6mpg better than what Ford advertises, but it gets 21 mpg city, which is 4 mpg less than what Ford advertises for city mileage. Overall, it's a great car and looks good in the rapid red. It's filled with high tech features, a moonroof, a rock'n stereo and off-road modes that are sufficient for light duty off-roading.
The mileage was likely better on the return trip because there was no rain. Rain will cut down on your mileage as there is more resistance driving down the road when the roads are soaked.
@@Askjorgelopez gotcha! This was a great video to showcase this information. With the specs I priced out how much it would be to fill and it was way off. Real life conditions are hard to predict. Which is why this is great. Thanks!
The gas tank is a bit small (16 gallons). I have a small 2 door car that has 20 gallons. I think any Truck or SUV should have at least 22 gallons or more. And at this point it's 2022 they should also be able to make above 25 mpgs.
Thanks! It could be that they have parts constraints like tow package, 2.7, sas etc. Also, the factory has shut down multiple times through out last few months weeks at a time.
I'm sorry if you believe that thing on the dash you need to check your actual usage by filling it up and dividing by the mileage because those are notoriously inaccurate
They are there for a reason. That's what most everyone uses to see fuel economy. I don't think many folks take the time to manually calculate the efficiency. Thanks for your feedback, I love it! Have a blessed day!
Love the vids I have a question about price because here in Puerto Rico they are asking almost a 100k for a wildtrak in almost every dealer how is that possible for a truck that’s less than 60k?
They have wildtrak at MSRP price (46,980) no extra cost. Get one and ship it. Shipping from Florida to PR is $1,300. The 1st edition dosent even cost 100k
Did you calculate mileage from your actual gas purchase or did you rely on the Bronco? I have a 2020 Edge, is reads about 2 mpg optimistic so it would be nice to see measured mileage. I hope I did not miss that.
@@DUNEATV Out of spec motoring did a similar test and found the trip computer was only .1 mpg off of his calculations he did at the pump... Nice try though
That Wildtrak looks incredible in Antimatter Blue. I have a Velocity Blue Wildtrak on order and I was tempted to switch to Antimatter but sadly Ford ended that dream with the news yesterday that Antimatter Blue is no longer available in 2022.
there is no comparison. I think the B&0 from the Bronco make the sound "ok". the factory non B&o sound system is trash on the Bronco. The b&o unleashed is stupendous. with its 18 speakers. I am liking my sound system but might upgrade it later.
Hi Jorge! I was at the Bronco Nation today in Detroit! Saw the new colors and can't wait for my Outer Banks next year!! What size engine is in the Bronco you are driving in the video?
Howdy there! Its awesome you were at Bronco Nation checking things out. Glad you are getting OB, i like that model as well as my WT becuase of the painted accents around the vehicle. Mine is a 2.7 ecoboost. Thanks for watching!
Hi.. do you have a review of fuel economy compared with outer banks? Is there a big difference? Which of the two (Wildtrak vs Outer banks) is more comfortable to drive with? I will be using 80% for casual outings, not really on the off road, confused which to go with! What’s your suggestion?
How do the 35" tires feel on the highway? Any bump steer or does it wander around? How does highway driving compare to one with 33's? Also which way was the wind blowing? if from the south that's why your back home fuel economy was higher. Great video! Thanks
the 35s feel good. no vibration, steering wander or issues with them. I can't say about the 33s as I have not been able to drive one. All the incoming ones are presold so I would hate to take a customer's vehicle on the road. I am sure someone will let me drive theirs and report back. and yes, I think you are right about the wind on the way back home! Thanks for watching!
I have a Rav4 (defiantly not bragging) and in town ECO gets better MPG than Sport BUT it gets 2 more MPG 30 in sport mode on the highway. IM betting the bronco is the same.
Hey Jorge, love your Bronco, but what is goin on with the recall on your hardtop? Has it been leaking at all or is the only concern that the inner lining is falling apart/disintegrating?
Thanks! There is no functionality issues with it. I have taken it off a few times with 0 issues. Ford will be replacing it because its supposed to discolor later. Supposedly.
Thanks for the fun video! Sometimes, the fuel efficiency number on the computer is realistic vs actually punching it into a calculator and sometimes, well, it's not. At least in my Bronco experience! Also, my Badlands is actually improving its fuel efficiency over time. I'm just shy of 1,000 miles and it seems to keep getting better. Except for yesterday. I spent all of yesterday in 4L with the sway bar disconnected for reasons. Reasons that are why I now know what part of the Bronco takes the most damage over rocks. :-)
So the Sasquatch lowers the mpg ? Just learning about the bronco definitely has caught my eye and looks like I’ll be new to Bronco Nation… I know very little about off roading 👍
Yes sasquatch should give you less mpg because of the heavier tires and more suspension upgrades adding to the weight of the vehicle. But hey, the fun you get out of this outweighs the lower fuel economy
@@Askjorgelopez a jeep guy friend of mine says if you’re going to go with big tires and lift just get Sasquatch but I don’t like the Sasquatch wheels and tires. I see the 4.27 gear is available minus the Sasquatch
Absolutely! The sas gives you a hybrid tire which is similar to a mud terrain tire. Those are noise to begin with plus they are large. a non sas will not have this type of tire which will result in a quieter ride.
Far from meaning anything the difference with one test. How were the winds each way? It was raining on the way down, lots of variables so one test means nothing. But glad it got better than the window sticker..
Greetings Jorge. I have a question, just today, my screen was marking 9.7 mph, as opposed to the 19/21 mph I normally get on my Bronco. I wish I could send a picture, but what do you think this might be? Thank you as always…
@@Askjorgelopez will need to take it to the dealer. I filled up the tank and everything was fine, until it hit 3/4 full, then the new weird mpg suddenly appeared. Which makes no sense. Maybe I need nothing but premium. I usually only stick with Chevron and rarely use 76. We’ll see. Thank you so much and happy weekend!!!
How many speed transmission? In sport mode, does it shift into the high gears? I have a 2015 F150 Ecoboost V6 6-speed. I'm sport mode, it won't shift into 6th... Is that normal?
You trusted the computer MPG vs doing the math compared to the miles driven vs the gallons added? What kind of review is this? Also, you used regular unleaded fuel? Why won't you put premium fuel in the tank to get better gas mileage when the bronco recommends 91 octane???
Its real world use. Most people will not be using the "math" version. Plus, most that have a Bronco will not care about fuel economy. This vehicle is not meant for that! this was just a fun experiment. Plus, I used what most people use for gas and that is regular. Recommended doesn't mean it is required.
