Wow. As a former WWII reenactor (and a Marine Corps veteran), I'm sad to say I developed a habit of nit-picking these WWII shorts. This one, however, was unbelievably well-done in every regard: the acting, the uniforms, and the script were all well above par. Frankly, the finest WWII short I've ever seen. Thank you.
dude do us all a favor try not to start your comments with "as a" just be a regular person and stop trying to throw your status around in peoples' faces
These suffolk infantry guys must have gone through hell France Holland Belgium and Germany. Admire and get moved by these WWII shorts after all War is brutal and bad as he'll. That Nazi lad shouldn't have run the MPs thought he was escaping. Hello from India. We lost 90,000 to 1 Lakh men fighting the Axis in Africa Sicily Italy and Burma. Lot of brave men died from the German British American and Canadian units both Airborne and infantry during and post operation Overlord D-Day 6th June France 1944.
that's complete bullshit, maybe you didn't actually watch the video he didn't die fighting for his country, he didn't even want to fight for his country...he died because he was forced to fight for the Nazis by the Nazis and because he was a dumb-shit enough to hop out of the truck over a photo of his wife

@@Aqua--Fyre General McArthur was prepared to stay with his men at Corrigedor. But he was ORDERED by the President and Commander In Chief, Franklin D. Roosevelt to leave his men and flee to Australia, where he did help lead US and allied forces against Japan in the southwest Pacific Theatwr of WW 2.
@@Aqua--Fyre That's NOT the history that I learned. But if you can provide the sources of your information then I will be more than glad to read it. I bet that Admiral Nimitz and the Central Pacific theater command would have absolutely loved you because they thought the same as you about invading the Phillipines. And the lives of many US Marines were wasted on the invasion and occupation of Peileilu to cover the backside of McArthur's Phillipine invasion. I am more than willing to keep an open mind, so please share more of your verifiable information with me.
@@Aqua--Fyre It looks like you know more about and have a much better informed view of McArthur's history and legacy than I ever will. I look forward to reading and researching your recommendations. It will take me awhile to read those books and look at other sources as well. But I must compliment you on knowing your history and I will probably end up telling you that I stand corrected. Thank you for sharing what you know with me. I love history and learning about the past and sometimes having to learn the real and historical truth after being fed the white washed propaganda passed on as historical fact.
I have no words. It's truly amazing. Guys can be proud of this film. In ten minutes you've managed to represent all the brutality of this war. Without a doubt, the best short ww2 film I've ever seen.
"uys can be proud of this film. In ten minutes you've managed to represent all the brutality of this war. " Just as in 1 minute you've managed to represent all of the idiocy of the human species.
@@godofgamers38 Entire British commonwealth, along with France, Poland and our other allies, is woefully underrated for their services in WW2. Its always the yanks that like to take the credit for themselves. Mind you, not the actual soldiers' fault, its just hollywood doesn't really care about the other allies
This is outstanding filmography, I applaud the actors for believable acting from start to finish. Well done all of you involved with this production and you should be proud of your achievements 🫡👌
They could be big movie roles that these actors played. Would be good to see a full feature based around this movie with the same actors and story line
Man sieht in der Ukraine, wie schnell Brüder aufeinander losgehen. Ich bin froh, dass wir Deutschen und Engländer aus der Geschichte gelernt haben. Greetings from Germany ❤
Thank you for creating and sharing this beautiful film. Wonderful acting, especially the British soldier at the end, his emotion. I think it was easier to drum up hate in one's heart as a defensive mechanism to get them through the horrors of having to kill their fellow men.
Suffolks of the 3rd infantry division (depicted here) are the liberators of my village when they crossed the Dutch - Belgian border. A few years ago in the village square a small monument was unveiled made out of a universal carrier track that was left at a farm in attendance of a veteran.
Balls! Tom Hanks and Spielberg don't care about the other allies. It's just the yanks they're interested in. After all, America won the war on its own!
Well done guys - if you do that for 7 more weekends you've got a feature - And your acting is excellent. Also - your movement - approaching the house, moving round it, use of weapons etc is spot. And the uniforms look the biz.
Always a pleasure to see Ben Squared Films delivering the goods !! Nice one here !!! By the way, I notice my status as a subscriber had lapsed - RU-vid does that shabby thing quite often.
Ironically, British kit was a lot quieter than German issue as most of it was canvas, whereas the Germans used leather webbing and metal buckles, plus a loud, clanky gas mask case. I wouldn’t have had my enamel cup knocking about though, better inside the pack.
Strangers, acquaintances, close friends. "A stranger, a friend you haven't met yet" An enemy, an individual who made one so angry that they could kill them or as in that, they set about trying to kill them and become, the enemy.
That was awesome! Well done! I am stationed in Ukraine at the moment. I wish there would be moments like that here, but this is unfortunately not possible! Great film!
Even though this was just a WW2 short(story), I feel sad about thar Wehrmacht Soldier - suffered in Eastern Front in which the Western Allies don't know how much bitter/death fighting they have endured..but still a very good short move this is
Brought tears to my eyes. Almost everyone would have seen himself/ herself in that German officer's shoes. Why did they kill him? I wish this war wouldn't have happened.
Note: timing of MP arrival relative to distance stated from location was unrealistic. Missed opportunity to build the story and they would need extremely fast vehicles to get there that quickly
dude that was heartbreaking. the poor guy. only thing that would have made it more powerful is if the tommy had put the photo in the conscripts outstretched hand, to be close to his wife one final time
There are some phantastic short films to be seen at youtube that make me forget about Hollywood bullshit. Maybe you should make contact with Para Light WorX, a German Film crew that produces films showing the German point of view - not only about WW II!
That happened on all sides that is the nasty business of war us men are men and we know the rules and risks of picking up rifled and becoming combatants
