Had a Deluxe reverb 65 RI, with a loud drummer wasn’t quite getting there…I ended up trading it for a super Reverb, wow, it was perfect with the band, very Hendrix!! Awesome playing! However it is tough not to sound like SRV, but that’s not really a bad thing here in Texas!! 😀
Sweet man, I just got mine...love it so far, haven't been able to go past 3 yet. but got band rehearsal coming up, should be able to open it up a little. Sounds sooo sweet hearing it here, you playing through it. You got the blues bro.
I just bought one, I'm on a cloud with anticipation. Nice video, definitely helped me decide. I was originally going to get the tone master but I can't see paying so much wanted the real deal. Wish I had done it years ago, cost is much higher now, thank god for coupons")
Excellent playing. And, I prefer the recording technique over the compressed recordings we often hear from "professional" videos. Edit: my only hesitation from getting a reissue is that it will not match the '64 that I used to own. However, your recording makes me think it might get close.

Great result. Beautiful tone and tasty playing Lewis. King of Tone is a great match to the amp and your style. Does the baffle make a big difference in terms of user friendliness and not annoying people? Do you use it live and mike it? Nice playing sir. Enjoy. Interesting, nobody says anything about everyone playing a tele into a Deluxe reverb as having that Vince Gill, Brent Mason sound etc. You bring your own nuance to the SRV tones as does any blues player on a Strat into a Super. Everyone goes through other players to develop their own voice. People can also have the same gear and sound nothing like. Methinks you're in the best space.
Nice nice tone with the amp, loved it... but still not sure about the tweaking... so you replaced V2 to have more headroom? the amp is twice as loud now? But let me as you something: if i want that kind of sound at home levels, is it better to do your tweaks or keep it stock? Thanks...

One of the best blues amps ever in my opinion, but everything always sounds like SRV. Maybe deep down without knowing it, I'm trying to sound like stevie even when I'm playing BB or Clapton
Hi! can you explain better the 5751 tube in v2? i now that v2 is the first gain stage for the vibrato channel and i know that the gain factor of a 5751 is around 70% of a 12ax7. My question is: whats the tone difference and benefits of using a 5751 instead of a 12ax7? Thanks
Love my Super except it’s been in the road case for a good 7 years now. It has a problem. If you turn the reverb to three or higher, the amp cuts out and gets super distorted. Reverb below three is plenty for this amp but I’m now afraid it’ll take a dump on a job, if we ever get out to play again with these damned lock downs….oh, really smooth and natural playing but don’t get hooked on being a Stevie Ray or Hendrix Clone.
Hi Alex. Going through the same currently with my Super. My Deluxe reverb is 1db louder than this Super at every volume control up to 7. I have a 40 watt tweed that is blisteringly loud when compared. The Super also sounds somewhat veiled in comparison to the Deluxe.
@@AlexHamilton ?? you mentioned nothing about speakers. Though I'm certain more efficient speakers will improve the volume - that doesn't address the fact that my Super isn't as loud as my Deluxe. That's another issue - not the stock speakers. Thanks anyway

You mentioned 3.5 ... are those all knobs at 3.5? I have this amp and I love, but like you and your first one, I just can't get it where I want (i.e. like you have it pegged on this video)
