Great tips thanks. I got some ideas for the Velcro on the mic adapter. I also like your drive for the SD cards. Also, thanks for your riding gear vid also. Very best regards. Callum

Thank you flr this video. I found it quite interesting. I am thinking about buying a Gopro. At this time it would be a Gorpro Hero 9. At my age all this stuff is not so easy to understand. A kid with the age of ten would probably have no problems with it and quicly get on its way with it. But it is a lot of stuff you have to bring. And i have to minimise every time before i start of. I don't want to get topheavy cause it spoils your ride. A tent and decent gear is almost to heavy on itself. And adding all this stuff it means i have to leave some things at home. And i can't hardly do that anymore. I need my socks and underpants every day fresh. I have read that there are also chinmounts. May i ask why you prefer this kind of mounting ? And with the phones of today you could use it to transfer your footage to that phone. Or even a much lighter 1.8 ssd drive that has the size of a pack of cigarettes. That external hd of yours is quite heavy and bulky. Also these new android phones from Samsung have an option called Dex. With the usb C connector and OTG you have the ability to attach a small portable screen to your phone. Most of them have two or more usb A connectors on the side. Giving you a much better view of your footage in the evening. And the possibility to connect several devices and transport your footage to a storage device. Also the Samsung phones are strong enough to do some editing. Just my thoughts. If i would buy a Gopro i need to go to the most possible light road in order to purchase the minimalistic side of it all. Actually your footage and the quality of it made me rethink of buying a Gopro. It has some extra worth to keep some fond memories of the rides you make. Or showing it to someoneelse i think. But on the other hand. If your not using it for YT how many times would one actually look at his own footage ? Once or twice? And to what purpuse ? But i can see the fun in editing and creating a nice video. But it requiers a lot of studying at the front of a computer. And also when shooting in 2.7 K or above you need a very fast computer with an expensive videocard i think. Or otherwise your computer needs the whole night to render some short footage. So if i added it up it will be an expensive investment i think. For now i will go to sleep and tomorrow i will watch some of your other video's. Probably your Moermansk footage.💪 But i dig it why you do record your travels.👍

Lots of questions here. You have done your research, so I can't really add a lot more to it. There's always new hardware that are cheaper, faster, smaller, but it also matters a lot the routine and workflow you get used to. For whom am I doing this? At the end of the day, myself. It sounds like a cliche, I know. I am not really looking at my videos once they are published, but I enjoy the comments, I enjoy replying to them. That way I get to "know" people around the world. I guess that is what makes me do it. If I didn't I'd never had this chat with you. Thanks for commenting and thanks for watching 😊

Great video. Thanks much. Could you outline the names and models of the equipment that you use. Btw, I am going to be riding to Norway next August and am very much looking forward to it. My coach at my gym is Swedish and will be helping me learn a few Norwegian words for my trip. I have enjoyed all of your videos. I live in Vancouver BC.

I had successfully hidden that information in the description ;-) 2 x GoPro6 Black 2 x DJI Osmo Pocket 2 x Røde SmartLav+ mics (one for the helmet, one for the DJI) 2 x TRRS to TRS adapter (4-ring 3.5 audio jack to 3-ring) 1 x 2TB DJI LaCie copilot hard drive 4 x 128GB micro sd (fast enough for 4K) I also have a DJI Mavic 2 Pro drone Went on a RV holiday in BC out of Vancouver 10 years ago. It was one of the best family holidays ever. Thanks for watching 😊

Backroad Motorcycle Adventures Thank you so much for replying. Glad you enjoyed BC. Nice that we can share good times in our respective countries (or neighbouring countries) I’m looking forward to 2 1/2 weeks in Norway.

James Suttie Yeah, Norway is great. I’m dreaming of flying the bike to Toronto (or wherever AirCanada has its east cargo hub) and ride my bike across US and CA do the west coast, including BC. I have a sister in AB. I like riding in remote areas. Maybe in a few years - who knows... :-)

Cheers Jesper, really clear and concise video. You have a really flexible and travel friendly system. Often wondered if you had to bring a laptop.

@@BackroadMotorcycleAdventures question, how long would you get from a 128gb card in a Go pro 6?
@BackroadMotorcycleAdventures
@BackroadMotorcycleAdventures 4 года назад
Nordkapp It says 4 hours in the GoPro display with an empty 128GB card. I usually don’t record that much in one day, though. Not unless I forgot to turn it off :-)

Very informative,thank you. But I have a question,which E1 size did you get and what is your head circumference?.I am about to buy one,a size M,my head is 57m,but it does feel a little tight.Did yours wear in after a while?The L is a little loose
@BackroadMotorcycleAdventures
@BackroadMotorcycleAdventures 4 года назад
My head is 59 cm, and the helment is size L (59 / L / 7 3/8). I think they do get a little bigger, but not much. I don't recall mine being too tight. If the M is uncomfortable, I'd be a little reluctant to buy it. Although it probably get a little bigger, and may go from tight to comfortable, I'm not sure it goes from uncomfortable to comfortable (if that makes any sense). I tried once, listening to the seller saying, "if you can get your index finger between the forehead and the inner padding, it is big enough", which I could, but it was way too tight and after a couple of hours it started to hurt. Thanks for watching :-)

Great short video Jesper ! Which microphone do you use for your GoPro? I purchased one for my DJI Osmo Action that levels out the audio, resulting in no usable audio.
@BackroadMotorcycleAdventures
@BackroadMotorcycleAdventures 4 года назад
It’s a Røde SmartLav+. Then I use a TRRS to TRS adapter as the GoPro and DJI don’t work well with TRRS. Check out the mic here: www.rode.com/microphones/smartlav-plus and the adapter here: www.rode.com/accessories/sc3

what drone do you use for travel photography?
@BackroadMotorcycleAdventures
@BackroadMotorcycleAdventures 4 года назад
I did consider including it in the video, but more and more countries are restricting use, some require a permit, other countries other rules. But to answer your question, It’s a DJI Mavic 2 Pro. Thanks for watching 😊
