We're riding a round trip in Sweden, staying within the borders of Sweden, on backroads. Lot's of gravel and awesome scenery. Total of approx. 6,000 kilometers.
I'm riding a BMW R1250GS Adventure, Klim Adventure gear, TKC70 tires (Rocks on rear).

Just been watching this again (as lockdown 3.0 here really dragging on..and there is only so much ac50 one can put on the bike)-and think you should do more ‘silent movie’ segments! 🤣🤣

Excellent video as always 👍 Coincidentally took almost the same route this summer, although more asphalt than gravel on my R1200RS with a couple of friends. Got quite a loot of rain on the trip, but nevertheless the national parks in northern Sweden are fantastic. Excellent hiking in fortunately nice weather. BTW, live very close to you just outside Malmö. Keep the videos coming 😉

Lmao loved the disclaimer in the middle of the video ^_^ - I could almost ride with you with my R1250RT on those "gravel" roads - if I wasn't -admitedly- too afraid of non-paved roads.

You've gotten stylish new adventure glasses! Nice to see you've managed to get some riding done this summer. EDIT: Also I'm a Finn and I see moose on the roads every year and I have to say those moose whistles are absolute rubbish. It's kinda like putting tin foil in your head as a way to block radio signals and then say it works because you haven't gotten any radio signals in your head.

Sweden is a beautiful country with great people but just too expensive, only been there for business all paid for plus a week driving around! Shame would love to ride there.
@BackroadMotorcycleAdventures
@BackroadMotorcycleAdventures 4 года назад
If you wild camp, it doesn't set you back as much. But some camp sites are expensive, that's true. At camp sites, it you are a group of 4, a cabin might often be a better deal. Also, at some sites, we only paid for one tent as the tents are relatively small (compared to family tents, I guess). Prices are sometimes negotiable. Thanks for watching.

I’ve just watched this episode, and enjoyed it very much. Two questions though. 1) did you sort out your rear brake problem. I have the identical bike, and my rear brake failed due to my big feet resting on the pedal, I’ve never had this problem on other bikes, but I’m extra careful now not to make that mistake again. 2) when you go on the gravel roads, do you put the bike into Enduro mode, I tried it once, but found the loss of traction control made life difficult, so, on the rare occasions that I do venture onto those roads I just stick to road mode. I’m definitely not an off-road rider. Look after yourselves and take care. Keep the vlogs coming. ATB
@BackroadMotorcycleAdventures
@BackroadMotorcycleAdventures 4 года назад
Yes, it got sorted after bleeding the brakes. Michael, who was on the ride too have had the same problem. I understand that it is normal that air get in to the system. On the front brakes, their air raises easier with its more vertical hoses and ends in the reservoir where it is out of the way. Yes, I do change to enduro mode when I’m off the tarmac. I do want the rear to spin and the abs to not kick in so fast. On the hard packed gravel it doesn’t matter so much, but if the ground is more soft I don’t want to loose the power as the grip may be sitting down under the first layer of dirt, if that makes sense. Thanks for watching 😊

what's with all the campingsites in a country that have allemannsretten??? is it because of showers?
@KristoferOlsson
@KristoferOlsson 4 года назад
you cant (you can but your not legaly allowed under Terrängkörningslagen) park your Caravan/campervan in the forrest. Then people like toilets, showers, electricity and Kitchen and more. Also if you want to stay a couple of nights or a week on the same place you need a Camping. Allemansrätten do not allow you do camp in one place for a longer time.
@BackroadMotorcycleAdventures
@BackroadMotorcycleAdventures 4 года назад
We only wild camped for one night. I must admit, I do prefer flush toilets. Thanks for watching :-)

@@KristoferOlsson got it... but parking you bike on the side of a gravel road, and camp for one night each place... that is leagal.. ins't it?
@BackroadMotorcycleAdventures
@BackroadMotorcycleAdventures 4 года назад
Yes, it is. For a single night, and out of peoples’ way. That’s what I do anyway (although on this trip we did it only once).

Do you need to pay a lot of toll on the Swedisch roads ? That you have to stop a lot of times and take out your wallet ? I hear that is the case and it would annoy me a lot because you have constantly watch with roads you need to ride. I like to ride a bit without a plan and mostly would like it to travel on backroads/gravel and a bit more offroad. Not to much because when riding alone and you get hurt bad it is not great. And with a big bike if you crash you crash hard most of the times. A great country to do hammocking i see instead of that bloody tent.
@BackroadMotorcycleAdventures
@BackroadMotorcycleAdventures 3 года назад
There are no toll roads in Sweden. Some private gravel roads are closed to the public but they are clearly signed. Either by a no entry sign or by a gate. There is the right to roam rule that allow you to camp even on private property as long you’re not close to the houses. So if you find a spot and can’t see any buildings you can camp. Thanks for watching 😊
@keesverhagen9227
@keesverhagen9227 3 года назад
@@BackroadMotorcycleAdventures Thank you, i will certainly do. I heard you talking about something like Ioverlander. I did a search and came up with an app. I will use this in the late afternoon for finding a spot to camp. My experience is that when you drive through the day you will see all kind of places that would be ideal to wildcamp. But when ot is actually time to camp you will not see those places anymore. 🙈
