Doesn’t have to be Michelin star level or anything, just be able to sustain yourself and not Uber eats all the time

@@shotpister1002 Absolutely. When I took home-ec in the early 2000's, few guys took it. Then I dated a guy who still lived at home in his early 20's (which that alone wasn't an issue in and of itself as I didn't move out until 27) and his mom cooked everything for him, PLUS he was super picky about not eating any vegetables (learned to debunk that when he ate a rotel dip I made, which had tomatoes, though smothered in cheese and ground beef), and well...I knew then that things weren't going to last between us, lol. It's now a dealbreaker for me if a guy says he doesn't cook whatsoever as I actually don't like cooking but I cook because I do like to eat and it's way cheaper than constantly ordering Doordash. I usually piggyback off of processed things to make a meal, so I'm not the greatest cook myself (like last night, I combined beef Ricaroni, ground beef, smoked sausage, canned stewed tomatoes, and steamed broccoli to make what I call "One-shot Pot", lol. I switch the vegetables up based on what I have available and sometimes add a can of beans). But I can at least form a functional meal. That's all I'm asking, it doesn't have to be anything glamorous.

@@cindys.w.8566 I honestly don't like him in the kitchen. Not because he can't cook but because he uses every dish, leaves every cupboard and drawer open, and makes a giant mess. Lol

@@BewareTheLilyOfTheValley, this is why I’m make my son cook at least a meal a week or we cook things together to speed up the process (like when we make fried chicken). He and his sister learned how to make a basic Béchamel sauce to turn into a cheese sauce for homemade mac and cheese when they were teenagers. I created mac and cheese monsters who would make it for a snack! We also went through a lot of milk and cheese. But they can both cook it from scratch and he can also now make homemade scalloped potatoes with ham. He’s pretty good with the grill too. He’s also the family caramel maker. At least twice, he made caramels after school in order to give gift bags of them to his teachers for Christmas. He really hasn’t been dating, but when he does move out, either alone or with roommates, at least I know he will be able to feed himself properly without living on Hot Pockets. He might even teach them that homemade chicken fingers are actually easy to make.
