I've only had the overheating problem when I went offshore and there wasn't much wind. Other than that, I use a small external battery (big enough to last all day), and mount it to the side of my hat. It allows me to record all day, without overheating. I will say, it starts to get a little uncomfortable after about 2-3 hours though. But when you're catching fish, you forget about that feeling! haha I agree though, GoPros are pretty overrated. Mine recently stopped connecting to my computer, so thats a fun twist... :)
Usually my hat one is just on and I record when I want and not continuously and it doesn’t overheat but my over the shoulder one that I run continuously is always overheating. Just have to go back to the long usb c cable and battery I guess
