My grease gun does not dispense, What do I do! - Lincoln Quick Tips

Yes. You can use tin foil or a plastic storage bag with rubber bands. Monitor periodically to make sure they are still in place.

WD40(original) and PB Blaster(original) are not necessarily cleaners, they were originally formulated as rust inhibitors and penetrants for loosening rusty bolts. I'm sure the respective brands have a cleaner/degreaser in their product lineup. For cleaning, a good practice is to use mineral spirits or an equivalent solvent. If heavily soiled, try to wipe off any chunks first, allow parts to soak for a bit in the mineral spirits, then scrub with a nylon brush. ~ John

Brake Cleaner usually have acetone in them which may damage plastics. we recommend using mineral spirits as the cleaner of choice. ~ John

Multiple different factors. In older units, could be a worn or dried out wiper, o'ring that seals against the follower rod could be worn. main seal between the tube and head is damaged/worn/missing. all units new or old may see seepage if unit is left unused with pressure on the grease in the tube assembly. Grease guns are meant to be used. If unit is to be used once or twice in a short amount of time(say a day or two) then stored for a significant amount of time, we recommend removing the grease cartridge and storing the gun empty. Doing so will reduce the risk of grease finding its way on the spring side of the tube assembly. ~ John

Which grease gun do you have? Majority of our handheld grease guns have a threaded cap on the front which houses a spring and the check ball. Watching this video shows where this ball check is located. In some cases(Even new) the check ball may stick to the check seat, and may need a slight push to unseat. fill the grease gun head piston passage with a thin oil and slowly cycle the handle should create enough pressure to unseat the ball. Other times its as simple as an air pocket is still sitting between the grease and the cartridge and the ball check.
