I'm one of those people who never even watched anything Gundam when it was on Toonami back in the day, so I started with the og show that started it all. It was pretty amazing and so far, Zeta was even better! For those getting into Gundam, you might like that one and Zeta if you're as into old school anime as I am. If not, maybe give 00 a try. I'm considering checking out 00 myself after all, it looks pretty cool (and having a bunch of adorable haros to break up the tension when needed kinda helps).
I just got into Gundam recently with “Origin” and working my way through the three film version of the original show and really enjoying it! I’ve also caught the first two episodes of both “MS 08th Team” and “Iron Blooded Orphans” and like both of them from what I’ve seen. (But I like “MS 08th Team” more).
In my personal opinion 08th and Ibo are really good starter Gundam show. also since you really liked Origins and the original UC setting you should check Gundam: Cucuruz Doan’s Island it's a really solid movie that just!
My theory is that Char suffered from some form of brain damage post Zeta Gundam due to being out in space for too long. Probably even made his visions and PTSD of Lahlah Sune even worse.
Sounds kinda similar to what happened with Amuro's dad. Brain damage due to a lack of oxygen. Made his obsession with his mobile suit creation work even worse to the point that his relationship with his son basically eroded when they met again. Wouldn't be surprised if that was also the case with Char post-Zeta.
@@ShinetoZeroX agree 100%. I liked the first half of Destiny. Shinn is one of my fave Gundam MCs and I love his shit stirring attitude. Designs are awesome and the music is kick ass. It had some issues like Athrun being an indecisive fool again but it was building towards something good. The absolute nail in the coffin is right after the Impulse takes down the freedom. After that it goes from a solid 6.5 or 7 to a 1. It is unironically the worst anime I have ever seen from that moment

Final Update: I just want to say thank you for all the support this video has gotten. the Remake is definitely on its way! After having to remake the video from complete scratch, the recording segment is completed, I now have to go into the editing stage and then the video will be ready. I don't know how long that will take but it will be released this year! to make it easier and faster on myself. I broke the video up into six 28 minute long videos all of it will be released as one giant video please stay tuned !
I agree with Trailblazer (the only parts I liked about it is ELS/Non ELS 00 Qan[T]) being shit but i think some characters didn't die they just got assimilated by the gundam version of venom you can see it in the ending where the girl that died from opening the door,actually lived and has some silver part on her face and hair

So I wanna post a bit of an update I have the 1st half of the gundam tiet list remake mostly recorded now, So basically I already have 19 series ranked and I have another 19 series... So I have no idea how long this would take to edit but I just want to make everyone know that I am still Actively working on this!
I agree that the very first series of Gundam need a remake with the graphic and animation to grab the attention of new generation like me to watch it cause it's just look that old that idk if i even want to watch it although the story is good is what I heard of
Sorry for The extremely late reply, I don't necessarily think Gundam needs to be remade but I know it will be remade I think as it is it's perfectly fine. If you really would like to watch to try watching the movies first. You'll probably have a better time than watching the original anime.
Watched the movies recently... and yeah it's dated and I really struggled. Things really start picking up in the third movie, that one is quite solid. 08th MS Team and War in the pocket are fantastic indeed as stated here. And IBO of course (S-tier IMO).
@@Draclord35 I think the old movies still hold up in my opinion but I can see why most people would want an updated version, Heck even the original character artist from gundam wants to make an updated version and if you've seen the recent rumors that actually might a possibility. IBO, war in a pocket, and 8th MS are all solid picks for S tier. Also sorry for the spacing, I'm writing this my phone and it's glitching out.
I can see it being remade as an ova series tbh. It'd definitely bring more fans into the series who might not be into the old school anime look and feel. I was able to get into the anime as opposed to the compilation movies because old school anime is right up my ally. While the story is pretty cool, you can also definitely see its age in the animation and in the theme song. (also, og Gundam's op theme is a HUGE ear worm and it's been playing in my head ever since I got into the show lol)
I grew up with Wing but I was so so about it. Later when I watched 00 and loved it I couldn’t understand why I didn’t like Wing. Does anyone else feel this way?
For me I think it was more so cause of episode airing, like they'll show some episodes in order and then jump back or too forward and makes the series confusing at times, not to mention the poor handling of the underrated wing Gundam, that honestly felt insulting with how pushed to side it got. What got me into wing was not only because it was my first Gundam series to see but the Gundam designs were what catched my eye big time compared to other giant robots or mech series, there was something about it that just really stood out with my obvious favorite being wing Gundam.
Char was who he was in counterattack because he wanted to fight Amuro again. Char was never about making the Earth uninhabitable, he just wanted to battle Amuro because he blamed him for what happened in the battle where LaLa the love of his life died in the OYW.
I think you're right, but I also think there's more to it. Char's Neo Zeon is really just a more extreme AEUG, and in my opinion, being basically left for dead at the end of Zeta would be just the radicalization needed for that kind of change.
in my opinion, the top tier is MSG IBO because it feels more realistic where this series does not recognize the name beam (except for the one in Mobile Armor)
What grind my gears: Gundam Origins not S? 8th Ms team is not S? WHAT?! IBO is in C? It should atleast belong in B F91 is an A? Well maybe if F90 is added it would really be great. NT is a D? EVEN SO... What oils my gears: ZETA Gundam in S A Fellow believer of the sign of Zeta. I'll put Zz in A though being slow in the first half but Haman Karn is just great.
Honestly I plan on retconning this whole tier list once I finish more Gundam shows but You're correct Origins and a 8th ms team should have been in a higher-tier I don't know why I put them in A. Don't get me wrong I B O is a good show I'm just not in love with it plus I'm not a big fan of the mobile suits Also I take my opinion back on NT the movie is actually pretty decent. Honestly I should have put up a disclaimer saying that this tier list is based upon my own personal enjoyment of the Gundam media and not based on anything else.
I wouldn't say that in Japan classic Gundam is extremely popular so from my point of view it's only a matter of time Also in Japan the RX 78-2 is still one of the most popular gundam of all time so at some point they're going to need to remake the original and sunrise staff have already said this at least once. So it's probably going to happen in the next couple years because you know Sunrise is always planning something heck just last year they announce Unicorn 2 so at this point Anything is Possible

I've only seen four gundam series, Mobile Suit Gundam Wing(which is my top 2 favorite anime of all time),OO, Gundam Seed( which I really liked), G Gundam which I really liked

Zeta = S totally agree. But Unicorn is a bit trash for all the budget they put into it. Seemed like it was Sailor Moon half the time with the transformations. Idk that series just seemed way over the top 💁🏻♂️ Unicorn kits that I’ve built are kinda trash too they just look cool up on the shelf 😂 pretty sure I built them bc everyone else thought Unicorn was cool lol

@@ShinetoZeroX hey, at the end of the day it’s all opinion, to some extent. But we must keep an objective attitude when ranking shows and see them for what they truly are. Yes the very first mobile suit Gundam was the one that started it all and had a very good story and characters. But, it had very dated animation. Does it still deserve S. Yes metal gear solid was the first one game in the series that started it all but does it deserve number one spot? No. S is the holy grail, perfection. Even though something is good and better than the rest doesn’t mean it deserves S.
