Happy Cerebral Palsy Awareness Day! 💚
I'm taking this day to reflect about why I started sharing in the first place and what continues to be my motivation. I got a little emotional putting this together.
Thank you for giving me a safe space to share my life with you. It's not always easy, but it's always worth it. Especially if I can help just one other person feel seen or expand their understanding.

I'm a little surprised how many people have never met someone with cerebral palsy before. My friend from school had about the same level this young lady has they walked exactly the same. He also had issues with his non dom left hand which made griping all most impossible. He was a extremely smart gentleman and pretty independent and the greatest sense of humor if people wood try to not mention his cp he would also say are we not going to talk about the elephant in the room. But like you say the school would try to put him in special ed an never give him a chance he was better at math then our high school teacher was. He was a great guy who never wanted any special treatment. Also when I was in the military one of the Sargents sisters had cp she was also a great lady used to hang around us when we got back. I just can't imagine people never running into someone with cp it's just kind of odd is all to have met at least five people in my life.

I find your videos inspirational. I work with the developmentally disabled and I think watching your videos has helped me see them in a different light. I’ve always seen them as able to do things but now I try to encourage them to do more. Thank you.

This is the first time I have ever commented on a post, but I have to. What you’re doing spread awareness about C.P as well as showing the world that you could accomplish anything as long as you work hard is phenomenal. Please don’t ever stop advocating for this disability or any disability for that matter. My son has cerebral palsy and I actually sent your link to him in hopes that he can look up to you and realize that he’s not alone as well as realize that he can accomplish anything. I tell my son I’m gonna tell you don’t give up. Don’t let anybody tell you can’t do something and just remember you got this.

AMEN! My experience has always been like that. Unfortunately my voice is affected which has both the affects of people thinking I have an intellectual disability (retired IT Director) and the issue of having to try to understand me. I've always said CP is 20% of the disability, how the world addresses it is the other 80%.

I suffered multiple brain injuries in 1977, at age 9. My disabilities are hidden, until I speak or it's known I had a memory lapse. I can relate to the looks and the discrimination you have been through.

I want to say thank you for giving me a moment that causes me to pensively think over my kids. 😔 This is what I hope my girl never feels to be blunt. It's a small part of why I'm tough with her and expect a lot out of her already. However, I also make sure she knows she's loved and try to let her go her pace as much as I can. I know she knows she can joke with me. That's gonna count for something, amirite! Also, "It's a part of life" is a very.. well zen/real outlook. It's your baseline as well. I guess it's a simple.. for lack of a better word, surprise, for others which I would also speculate makes 'social faux pas' probable probably. Sorry for the edit. Reordering and extra sentecnes etc.

I'm disabled as well and while I can maneuver around a bit easier than most, it's a certain line that really hit home. You can't comprehend how someone with a physical disability has a limited place in society.. it's unbelievably true and for some, it almost hard to see. But when we walk into a room we can feel it 🙏 thank you seriously for everything you do and all the things you bring to us for awareness. It's such a beautiful thing. I just wish the movement was bigger and humans were more accepting of us. But in time 💚💚💚

Why don't you band together with other people with spastic diplegia and come up with a comprehensive list of physical therapists who have expertise in and experience working with people with spastic diplegia? You could use your youtube channel as a way to find people with spastic diplegia in the US and ya'll could together come up with a list of physical therapists with relevant expertise and experience in each state. I really really hope you see this message. I was having tons of knee pain today and thought of your knee pain.

I can not imagine a better spokesperson for the CP community. And i can not think of a better motivational speaker to relate to anyone living with any type of challenge. You are such a dynamic, beautiful spirit, I cant think of a more positive life force to motivate others. Anyone living with any type of challenge can look at you and make the change in their lives, and learn to live with what they have rather than settle gor what society says they should live with.
