In regards to repercussions to Deku’s actions; remember that he has a provisional license now, which means he has the authority to act as a hero in emergency situations. It’s why he got in trouble with Stain but not with Gentle. It was more like he got scolded by his teachers.
@@alphakytendo2505 It's because he put his own motives before what he should have done, which is to alert the authorities, even if it meant the school festival getting cancelled
Overhaul arc - Part 1 of the saving Eri arc (physically) Cultural festival arc - Part 2 of the saving Eri arc (emotionally) As Nana Shimura said it best, "Heroes don't just save lives, they save hearts too."
The thing that touched me the most was Jiro's parents being so open minded about what she wanted to do with life, since it's something I struggled a lot with my parents when I was a teenager. Seeing that made me think what kind of parent I would want to be to my children.
@@Lolo-ji9xs even if there's potential to make a couple of two daddys in this show, it was already confirmed by the author that Deku and Ochako ship is about to Sail. So I rather see this episode like two big brothers making their little sis happy.
20:53 Completely agree Chris! Thats why Gentle is one of my favorite characters, he failed a bunch and society kinda let him down in some regards, but even as a villian he was never irredeemable, and that end credit scene opens the door that perhaps one day he will come back as a reformed Hero! Also the 1A concert is too damn good, probably my favorite scene of the entire season!
Since when did society let him down? He's the one who broke the rules of society leading to him to this vigilante/villain life, that's why he doesn't blame society and not degrade to pure villainy because even if his life was ruined he knows it was his fault to begin with.
Riku Harada yeah he broke the rules of society, but those rules are kinda messed up to begin with. Deku, Todoroki, and Iida only got away with what they did with Stain because they won. They technically did what Gentle did, but succeeded so they were praised (yet not given credit) What if they failed?
@@steed643 The law isn't supposed to be fair and convenient, it's exist because society needs it. The difference between Gentle's case and the Stain incident is eyewitnesses, the only reason Deku and the others got away from punishment is because nobody was there to witness it. The police knows that the law isn't fair that's why they are lenient and wasn't punished, but they know it's needed to discouraged vigilantism. The biggest threat to the MHA society isn't villains but rather vigilantes. Because it's a grey area where it disregards the boundary of morals and the law, meaning it would be extremely hard to differentiate between villains and civilians thus leading to the crumbling of the hero society.
Riku Harada That’s honestly why I love how detailed the laws of this world are. I was reading the vigilantes manga and it really goes into a lot of detail the ramifications of being a vigilante vs a hero. You’re right, I just thought it’s still kinda fucked that stuff like this can end up happening.
Riku Harada alright but what about when deku went in to save bokugo in season 1. He would of died to that explosion if it wasn’t for plot (all might saving him) right? He became a casualty in the situation and only got and there were Plenty of EYEWITNESSES
The image of the shadow of Overhaul being blown away by Eri smile...The best thing about this whole episode !! Also, god damn Mirio is funny imitating Eri after the show ! Finally, the mission to save Eri is completed !
That was the big pay off. What I especially liked was he fact it wasn't the performance that destroyed the shadow, but it gave Eri the strength to break free herself which is an important detail on her road to recovery.
Monoma's ability is copy, so it makes sense that he would copy everything at once to make a play. TetsuTetsu doesn't really make sense though, right? Oh wait, his ability is STEEL.
Tetsu Tetsu's name is literally a joke about being derivative and redundant with Kirishima, it means iron, but the repetition is a pun like "same same" or "ditto"
@StoicallySuperior Monoma can use the quirk of any person he touched for five minutes, but he can only use one quirk at a time, and some quirks that store energy (like Fat Gum fat absorption) can't be copied. That's why clocks are important support items on his hero costume, he needs to know when a copied quirk has expired with an alarm.

I mean even if Monoma can copy fat absorption as well, since he only has five minutes to accumulate fat/energy...he won’t really able to use it for anything.
TheZapan99 yeah, and he also isn’t able to copy One for All either. It’s not much of a spoiler, as even though Midoriya worried about it for a while, it wasn’t a major plot point and was resolved pretty easily.
season 5 not only turns the whole story 10x darker, but it also makes the story have so much more depth. It basically is a turning point to the whole series.
I hope it doesn't stay continually dark forever, I’m not against darker stories I just hope it doesn't stay that way for the rest of the series. It doesn’t need to as light hearted as this episode again but it be nice to have a break after such events happening right now in the manga.
March 11 COVID-19 was declared as a worldwide pandemic. Sports, shows (anime), basically everything public was postponed. Episode 13 of Season 4 is the anticipated "infinite one for all 100%" episode, where Eri is saved from despair. 10 episodes later, we have episode 23 where Eri finally smiles after she is saved. Episode 23 aired March 21; 10 days after the declaration of this worldwide pandemic. I think there's a lot that can be said about this season, as well as its (coincidental) timing. Alot of it can be said through the development of Eri - when we hit our lowest point, there is always joy waiting for us. This was a feel good episode through and through.
Chris tearing up over Gentle Criminal’s second chance was the best part of the reaction for me. He just got it- it was so genuine. He wanted to be a hero so badly and just strayed from the path. It’s so important and rewarding to see that he gets that second chance.
love this episode, Eri smiling, Mirio seeing her smile after all his effort and sacrifice, Jiro's backstory and that after everything these kids finally get to have a really fun time, be kids and be around their friends. Also I think it's underappreciated that its thanks to Jiro (and the rest of class 1-A) that Eri was able to smile, I wish there was a scene where Jiro was able to know the positive outcome of her music. I love seeing all of class 1-A just having a blast and this episode is so wholesome and joyous.
"Technically they didn't do anything wrong." Technically they did (assault and trespassing), not to mention that there are several videos online about them committing crimes. Many forget to commit illegal acts using quirks is the definition of being a villain.
Not even committing just illegal acts; using your quirk in public without a license in general is completely illegal...even for Mutant types who quirks are their bodies
Heroes childhood development is so important this season. -We see the dark reality of having a heroes licence. -Saving Eris future development with a stable life. -The importance of winning over the hearts of future generations who have the potential be being heros of Villains. With bakugo and Toderoki. -Heros like Endeavor are beginning to consider they have it wrong and asked All Might what he was missing from being a hero. -The future of the Academy Students -Jiros parents chose to be musicians to save peoples lives. -Gentle criminal cause more harm than good by acting without an education or licence. -The end credits contains heros and villians when they were growing up and had the chance to go either way.
Nivender in the discussion Nahid was taking about how Endeavor never did anything to his family and blamed the mother for being the one who abused them
@@gustavodomingo7256 Oh wow... thanks for telling me that. I didn't mind him talking shit about Deku last episode, but that was the stupidest shit i've heard in a while.
A fun fact about Hound Dog: he's a hero and teacher, but he also operates as UA's guidance counsellor, which explains why he's so passionate about the students being happy while they're still young and safe.
This episode always gets to me!....having jiro's flashback and then eri finally smile and then mirio looks like a proud dad....and then gentle having a second chance....this is my favorite episode in the series

The thing your talking about with strong people unable to become quirk users, actually has its own side manga, it’s called My Hero Vigilante. It’s actually really good and builds on some members of our main cast. I strongly recommend it to anyone who sees this. Edit: I forgot to mention this but it’s written by the creator of the OG Manga and show, Kohei Horikoshi.
la brava was looking in the end credits at the guy she wrote a love letter to. they guy talked about this in the episode about la brava, he said she was a stalker
I love how this is such a feel good episode. I love that they were able to have one school event and have fun just being high schoolers with out some villains spoiling all the fun 😊
jirou was my favorite character from the moment i saw her in season 1 , so seeing her get this much attention in this arch and seeing this episode especially made me very emotional…
*Eri smiles* -Whatever *Mirio tears up* Midoriya? -still meh *Mirio still sobbing* Sir? Are you watching this? -*Me crying like a 3 year old who got their favorite toy taken away*
Wow, so glad you guys liked it. Back at the start of this arc I was surprised to see people saying it wasn't a popular one, that you guys were gonna be bored. Nah, the slice of life is triumphant.
i have been waiting for 2 months for this reactions, and i am happy to see that some of you couldn`t evade the tears of joy, for me it was the best chapter for the season, with the final one of course, a nice story about changing
I am so here for My Hero Academia: My Two Dads spinoff..haha, I've been going back and watching reactions since I just finished the new season, this was such a good episode.
I’m really happy you guys liked the episode! It was such a fresh air for My Hero in my opinion, finally the kids could have fun without it being ruined uwu
@@eastsidereviews727 He was mentioned and shown in silhouette earlier in the season when he invited Tokoyami to work with him. We meet him next episode.
@@oppai_dragon7351 It's actually AoT "Red Swan" that he didn't like and thinks it sucked. Because it's the song of the 3rd season he thought it was the third opening of the series but actually it was the forth opening. He keeps bringing it up and saying that quote over and over again in almost every Naruto reaction at the time and keeps referring to that specific AoT opening. Everyone keeps telling him in the comments in those reaction videos "Dude, It's Not THE THIRD SONG!!!!!". That's the reason why that quote was legendary.
there are heroes that go out and try to better the world in the MHA universe that don't have licenses. there is even a manga series that follows some of them called MHA:Vigilantes (also sometimes referred to as Illegals)
damn i loved this ep i rewatched it so many times and i literally cant stop myself from crying when she smiles every time... also i really wanna see their reaction to the finale now so bad
12:19 It is at this moment... With great energy of sound, light, and strength of joy... That the shadow looming over the young child all her life... Was banished forever... And the child could, at long last... Begin to smile...
Im rewatching the normie my hero reacts (it's a comfort for me for some reason) and I TOTALLY forgot they basically reacted to a whole season during lockdown😭 But I guess, in a way, so did we all.
shout out to the studio animation on how good they adapt it the concert scene from manga to anime and improved it to that quality. i hope BNHA never change animation studio like how other top anime destroy their anime by doing that. BNHA animation studio really know the heart and identity of BNHA
