It's a reminder of how negative Hero Society can get considering someone as strong as Chimera became a villain from growing up being constantly insulted for how he looked.
This movie is considered the best one. And I don’t blame anyone for thinking that. It’s a true marvel. I’m not going to say much. I’ll just leave a few notes. How the class operates on this island is EXACTLY how I want them to be heroes once they graduate. And they all just refuse to leave each others sides. And they’ll all be a LOT stronger when that happens. And I hope they call the agency the symbols of peace or something. The whole class is a full family unit while they all are different strengths and not equally strong, I have no doubt none of them will want to be separated. This episode adds MORE lore to OFA. There ARE specific rules that have not appeared but all align EXACTLY with how this all plays out. Nine has 8 quirks, and could only take one more. And as we know, OFA is stockpile AND pass quirks. OFA is a quirk booster so Bakugo’s hold on his own explosion was increased A TON. And even exact reasons why the power returned to Deku. But there are TONS of mysteries you have to wait to be addressed. This movie like all the others are actual canon events. I can’t remember EXACTLY when it occurs in the timeline. But I think it happens just after the arc you’re about to watch next. This secures Bakugo and Deku as proper teammates this movie. Like work brothers. I STILL don’t consider them friends, but this is them probably at their healthiest. Strides are being made. This movie is definitely something special. I don’t know which one is my favorite, I hold them all in pretty close regard actually. But each one is an absolute blast. Good stuff all around as usual.
Let's not forget the best part of the movie, the music that was playing in the final fight when Deku and Bakugo were finishing Nine off was absolutely perfect imo.
What a glorious movie. Cinema over here went crazy when that happened. I remember reading somewhere that the original vision of the author was exactly how this movie went. But seeing how the manga was well received he build up more in the show. So the original ending got turn into this movie. Might just be a speculation but I like it. In the show we get to learn more about the whole one for all and how it works. So the movie in retrospect makes sense.
I cant imagine watching this in the cinema. It would have been awesome on the big screen. Are you from the UK? I have not encountered too many americans who call it a Cinema :)
You are correct. Horikoshi ( The creator) his original plan to end the series was this movie. Having Deku and Bakugo sharing the power and going 100% against Shigaraki. However as you stated, the show became popular and fans wanted more. So he changed the story and decided to make a better ending. Thankfully the studio and him found a way to turn his original idea into this movie ( Which is Canon BTW) into the story. Can't wait to see the new ending of the series probably in a few years 👍🏻
Fun fact! The author of My Hero Academia said that a certain "something" that happens in the second movie was actually his original plan for how My Hero Academia was going to end. He ended up scrapping that idea and putting it in this movie instead. You can probably guess what it is.
The thing about Deku sharing OFA with Bakugo is a little more complicated than just a "lucky shot" but explaining that would be a huge spoiler so all I can say is that nobody else is fit to use the power by decree of all the predecessors. You´ll find out more about it in the next seasons, trust me.
Also for clarification on where this film takes place, since no one has given an exact ep. It takes place right after Season 5 ep16 (ep16 isnt manga canon but serves as a "tie-in prologue" into the film) Also the 3rd film, World Heroes' Mission, takes place after Season 5 ep18
Emily and I plan to start recording S5 today. We liklely wont start releasing S5 episodes on RU-vid for a week or so. We have some other shows to catch up on and release next week. We will get there though
Always fascinating with this movie with deku giving bakugo OFA. Ppl always assume he willing gave it to him but once you factor in the quote "there's no other choice" that's not willingly as it was established in like episode 1 or 2
This movie was the original ending of the series but vs all for one. They change the ending but with this movie the author was showing us what was his plan from the start.
I read somewhere that this was the original plan for the ending of the story, Deku handing the power off to Bakugou. Not sure if that's true or not, but if it is....I'm just excited to see what the BETTER ending would be?!
I am not a huge fan of the movies, as they seem to me too much like they just had one cool idea (for this one and the the first it was 2 One-For-Alls fighting together) and they just through together some other cool setups to get you there while being placed somewhere that won't impact the rest of the show. I will admit that they get better with each one they made. I REALLY disliked the first movie, and if they bring the ending of this one back in some way I can see that changing my opinions of it somewhat. I enjoyed the third one a fair amount, but I would only give it a 6 or 6.5 / 10. (The first one I would give about a 3, and this one is a 4.5, maybe a 5.) They are flashy and exciting, but I just didn't enjoy them very much. Maybe I would enjoy them better if they were entirely non cannon and they just went crazy with them? I don't know. I am glad you enjoyed it though.
The MHA movies are canon. Horikoshi works on all of them, fits them into the manga timeline, and shows characters and objects from them in the manga later.
