I've been binging your videos because I'm struggling to choose between history and mathematics at university. History interests me a lot more, but honestly the studying and exams were much harder than maths was. Maths on the other hand, I have little interest in outside of education but I enjoyed studying it more and had little trouble getting As in all of my modules :/

Aww thank you so much!! I'm planning on spending next year doing a masters and after that I am hoping to go into either the Space industry, Tech industry or potentially study a PhD!! A lot can happen in a year and a half so I am remaining flexible but I would LOVE to pursue a PhD! I definitely agree, the job market at the moment is definitely a challenge!! As long as I get to do a job I absolutely love I'll be happy🤓

@@EllieSleightholm thank you! How many tutorials do you have per week and how many students are there in them?

@@thebeautifulrainbow in first year I had 4 modules per semester so every other week I would have a tutorial; it worked out with two one week for two modules then two the next for the remaining modules (hope that makes sense!). Then they got less frequent in second year and in third year we no longer have tutorial classes. The idea is that by third year you become more independent! Tutorial classes are a lot smaller compared to lectures. In first year I had roughly 15 people and in second year maybe 20-25! Hope this helps! :)

I'm a second year maths student at York and I'm glad there's someone else that loves Fluid Dynamics! Everyone complains so much about it but I love my Waves and Fluids modules (almost as much as Classical and Quantum Dynamics)!! :)

Aaah omg you're literally the first person I've met who hasn't said they hate it!! 😂Leeds cancelled Quantum Mechanics modules this year so I'm well sad that I didn't get the chance to learn that :( looking forward to my Masters though which will specialise in fluid dynamics & astrophysics... video coming soon 🤓

@@EllieSleightholm Ah that's gutting - Quantum is so good! I unfortunately chose all pure modules for my third year because I thought my applied modules were so hard, but in the last month it just kind of all makes sense so I'm defo swapping them haha. I LOVE your channel btw, so glad there's videos out there for people that love maths!!!

Thanks for your videos, they are really insightful for people like me who are thinking about studying a maths degree! I'm hopefully starting my degree at UoL next September, and am wanting to do financial mathematics - do you find there is a lot of cross over between the people studying straight maths and those studying maths related degrees like financial maths, econ & maths, etc. ?

Thank you!! Hoping you get to start your degree at UoL! Yes! My housemate actually studies actuarial maths ☺️ you find that there are a lot of optional modules, like finance 1,2&3 that straight maths students take too so there is a bit of a cross over! The only difference will be the compulsory modules you take :)
