If you're a Fertile Myrtle (like me) you use 5 different things at the same time. The pill, condoms, spermicide, pull out... you do not depend on 1 method. I had a tubal ligation after my fourth child (four under six) while still in the hospital from giving birth. That was 1981. All family was on the other side of the world, so no help like they have today. Everything was fine. I remember my stomach being sore in the hospital when I coughed, that's all. It was not a c section. I didn't want any more children so took steps to protect myself. I didn't put it on anyone else.

About the couple who is having birth control issues: When we are young we hold a yes/no, good/bad, in/out kind of viewpoint. This immaturity is the root of the problem for both the wife and husband. When we are young we also feel like we have lots of options with our life and future. NTA, Birth control is a two way street. A woman can take all the proper precautions but birth control CAN fail, it takes two people to make a baby.
