I had a tubal ligation during C-section... I have had stabbing pains ever since. That's 21 years of stabbing pain... I was assured it was temporary and when it wasn't, I was assured it was "common" and it's not, and then told it'll stop when I go through menopause... It has not stopped. Tubal ligation is, or can be, very painful, and in some cases, forever. (Tubal done in 2004) I wish I had been better informed.
@thisisanaltacct

There is a thing called Post Tubal Ligation Syndrome, which includes symptoms of pain among a long list of other not fun side effects. According to one site (North Carolina Center of Reproductive Medicine) up to 37% of women experience symptoms of PTLS after healing from their tubal ligations. I could not find a good source on what percentage of those women experienced pain. On the other hand, men can also experience post-vasectomy scrotal or pelvic pain. According to the American Urological Association, pain associated with vasectomies significant enough to interfere with quality of life affected 1-2% of men. The failure rate of tubal ligation is 0.5%, and failure rate of vasectomy is 0.1-0.15%. I am not a fan of making someone get a medical procedure against their will. That is simply unethical. However, after pushing 4 whole ass human beings through her vagina (and wanting to be done with it after 2), it is not a huge ask to get snipped. He still has bodily autonomy. He doesn't HAVE TO get the procedure done, but she also doesn't HAVE TO stay married to him.

Nah. Just like lsd, they open up portals and allow demonic entities to have access to your temple AKA your body, and of course your mind. They will try to replace your thoughts with their own and most people don't even know, they just think they are their own thoughts but they are not. All drugs and alcohol give demonic entities access to you, it's not a coincidence why alcohol is also called spirits. Or why people blackout when they are drunk and they do things they never remember doing, and most of the time those things are bad, well who do you think is controlling your body when you are blacked out? Certainly not you. Best to stay away from those things, nothing good ever comes from them, evil is always beautiful on the outside, that's how it draws people in and fools them. But once it has you in its grasp, you will see how ugly it really is.

Although I can't agree with everything you said, there is some truth in a psychedelic experience uncovering things that are already there. For some, psychoactive substances are more like pouring gasoline on tinder and lighting it on fire. If there is a latent mental illness, those substances can ignite it. Whether or not the illness works have been triggered later if not for the drugs is up for debate. Please use these substances with caution if you have a family history of psychosis, and do not use them at all if you have been diagnosed with a mental illness with psychotic features. Psychedelics can be medicine, but any medicine taken recklessly or at the wrong dose can become a poison.

The pregnant woman story... i understand how she felt. Heres my issue... she is placing sole responsibility for birth control on him or her or in one method. If you're a Fertile Myrtle (like me) you use 5 different things at the same time. The pill, condoms, spermicide, pull out... you do not depend on 1 method. Also, men are protective of the family jewels. I know it's stupid. Accept it. Get over it. I had a tubal 27 years ago. It can be done right. You instruct your dr to remove or collapse the fallopian tube. I didn't get my "tubes tied." I had a section cut from the tube, and a lazer burned and collaped the tubes. No ectopic pregnancy is possible in that case. My recovery was uncomfortable for a few days. I had 4 small children as well. My oldest was 4 and I just had a newborn. 92 - 97 and 4 children. I said done. No more. I was 28, and I told my doctor to fix it. And that if I were to get pregnant again, I was hunting him down for child support. I was serious. He then said ok I can do it this way, but it's 100% permanent. I said good. So he proceeded. Thank you Dr. Timmons. You did an excellent job. So OP needs to stop whining about what she can't force another person to do. Do it herself. Is it a bigger deal... I don't think so. His recovery is shorter but its still getting clipped. He doesn't want to do it. He does not want to do it. That is the most important thing. He does not want to do it. And she is trying to blackmail him into it. "I'll divorce you. I'm keeping the kids away. This is your fault. You broke my trust." I call BS. She has gone through trauma, which doesn't give her the right to dictate what happens to other people. Now one other option is available for her. Abstinence. But she said no, i can't do that. She has an excuse for everything. She's a controlling a-hole. Sorry if people don't agree.

Wow. You really don't have a lot of empathy. It takes two people to have a child but it's still her fault. If she wants to break up with him because they don't agree on the contraception it's also her choice. Abstinence is ultimately the best way to not have kids. He also treats her as replaceable. HE can't have a vasectomy because he wants the possibility to get another woman pregnant, but it doesn't matter if SHE wants the possibility to have another man in their life later. In the end, she's the one the most in danger and difficulty with pregnancy so I can understand why she doesn't to take any risk

You know I agree with this take actually for the most part. The thought occurred to me, though, that even if OP's husband agreed to getting the vasectomy done, what if the marriage falls apart anyway due to the argument they had? Then he would've just gotten that procedure done for nothing in the end. I dont know how reversible a vasectomy is, but its gotta be tricky, right? And even if it isn't, it'll still cost him financially.

Story 2: OP's husband said unforgiveable things, just stop at that and separate. OP is NTA for separating for that reason, but not sure on the vasectomy part. I would be more on OP side if she did not held the marriage and kids hostage. Yeah, OP don't "force" him to do vasectomy, but if he did not do that. it is what it is. and you can kiss goodbye to your child. I'm sorry but this is coercion for me. And honestly by separating OP will give up sex life anyway. which baffle me why OP she did not want to make sacrifice on the sex part. My golden rule is, if you switch the gender then its bad. All family was on the other side of the world, so no help like they have today. Everything was fine. I remember my stomach being sore in the hospital when I coughed, that's all. About the couple who is having birth control issues: When we are young we hold a yes/no, good/bad, in/out kind of viewpoint. This immaturity is the root of the problem for both the wife and husband. We can be quick to pull out one reason for not doing something rather than weighing it in a more nuanced way. Ectopic pregnancies from IUDs aren’t common. When we are young we also feel like we have lots of options with our life and future. It may be true, but it is foolish to be so quick to shut out your husband and father of your children, though he was in the wrong a few times. He was obviously being immature and reactive too. If you’re going to raise 4 kids either together or apart you’re going to have to grow up! From someone who has had 4 kids, an IUD, and (with no IUD at the time) an ectopic pregnancy.

She lost me here 28:20 because 23:59. I know she said she isn’t looking for a new relationship but there is always a possibility of something happening and if he can’t get the vasectomy reversed he’s out of luck hypothetically if he wants more children with someone else. It’s definitely a way better option then getting the tubes tied but neither want to deal with these procedures. Seems like something they should’ve talked about before marriage, It’s kinda complicated because I think they should get divorced especially if the only big argument they had led to a separation but they are about to have 4 kids and every option they have to stop more children one or both denies it, super frustrating and messed up on his part with how he denied it. A lot of problems both sides and they need to figure out a compromise. Also no she’s not the asshole I just think this whole situation is stupid and her husband messed with her trauma which led to the ultimatum and I think at that point they should just go their separate ways and co-parent. Which leads me back to my first point if he wants to get remarried and or have more kids he can because I doubt this relationship will last. I’m very mixed on this because it’s very complicated all around and I don’t fully know all the ins and outs.

Most vasectomies can be done in the doctors office and the patient is left with just a couple of stitches. A tubal ligation is an invasive surgery and takes several weeks to recover from fully. My husband had a vasectomy while I was pregnant with our fourth child. Within five days he was riding his motorcycle and within a week we were having sex again. Any man in my opinion who refuses a vasectomy is not very much of a man. most birth control devices and pills contain hormones that screw up a woman’s system.

By that same logic, any woman who refuses any sort of birth control surgery when they don’t want kids is not a real woman. If a man doesn’t want to physically alter his body as a form of birth control, he has as much right to refuse as any woman. I’m a woman who has no desire for kids and no intention to take any birth control meds because of how much they screwed with my hormones when I did, nor do I intend to get any sort of surgery because the idea of physically altering my body in anyway through surgery just grosses me out. However, I’m still a real woman who’s just choosing abstinence as my birth control. I know your comment probably wasn’t about everything I just said. However, that last line just irked me because it removes choice and shames men for choosing not to get life altering surgery so they don’t have kids. Whether that was your intention or not, that’s still what it was saying by saying “no real man refuses to get a vasectomy if they don’t want kids” (I’m assuming you were only referring to the men who don’t want kids).

@crazyminegamer2339 3 месяца назад
@@bethmoran6190 Nope. That’s why there should be a version of the pill for men. My point was that men currently have permanent potentially irreversible surgery and hoping a condom works, while women have the options of permanent potentially irreversible surgery (more than one variant of it, mind you), a pill that messes with your hormones, and hoping the condoms works, so women have more options for contraception and 2 of the 3 aren’t permanent potentially irreversible things. I know if I had to choose between taking the pill and my partner getting a vasectomy when he’s not ready for it and may actually want kids someday, I’d take the pill, and I know how badly it screws with my hormones. Shaming a man into getting a vasectomy is the same as shaming a woman to get any sort of contraceptive surgery. NTA, Birth control is a two way street. A woman can take all the proper precautions but birth control CAN fail, it takes two people to make a baby. Plus the whole "you are forcing me to get a medical procedure done" while saying OP should get a medical procedure done is laughable. Will the husband be taking time off of work to watch the kids while OP recovers from getting her tubes tied? His wife is literally pregnant with twins, pregnancy is severely taxing on your body especially when you have more than one baby growing in your body and he was practically saying "well I want to be able to have kids with my future wife" as if he is already making plans to leave OP and that is disgusting. OP has been trying to take measures to take birth control and it obviously hasn't been working but he can't put in the effort to try? He should be less concerned about his imaginary future wife and more about the health and happiness of his CURRENT wife the mother of his children. It's his decision not to get a vasectomy he has the right to do with his body as she does with her's, she isn't forcing him to get the procedure done it's not like she is physically holding a gun to his head telling him he has to get snipped or get shot. Although there’s plenty of false information in the medical world, most of it starts with some evidence. In the matter of vasectomy causing cancer, the mistake was misinterpreting correlation as causation. Huh? Let me explain. Correlation means that two outcomes are linked or associated with each other. For example, using name brand toothpaste is associated with Alzheimer’s disease. Does Colgate cause Alzheimer’s? Of course not. But, if you can afford name brand toothpaste, then you are more likely to have medical insurance and regularly go to the doctor. If you go to the doctor as your memory starts declining, they will likely diagnose you with Alzheimer’s. Do you know who isn’t being diagnosed with Alzheimer’s? Your crazy uncle who lives off the grid, doesn’t go to the doctor because “he ain’t sick” and also doesn’t brush his teeth at all. Yuck. This is very similar to the link between vasectomy and prostate cancer. In order to be diagnosed with prostate cancer you need to: --Go to the doctor and have a PSA blood test. --Get referred to a urologist if the PSA blood test is elevated. --Have a prostate biopsy diagnosing prostate cancer. Who’s most likely to go to a urologist for a prostate biopsy? The same guy who went to urologist 20-30 years earlier for a vasectomy. Correlation not causation."

"Vasectomy and prostate cancer in men. When it comes to men and prostate cancer, there is no evidence linking vasectomy to increased risk of prostate cancer or any other type of cancers in men. In a study published in the New England Journal of Medicine, researchers examined 1.6 million men who had undergone vasectomies, and compared them to 1.3 million men who had not undergone vasectomy. They found no association between having a vasectomy and prostate cancer risk, or any other type of cancer risk. A study done by the Harvard Medical School followed over 6,000 men for 15 years and found that those who had undergone a vasectomy were actually less likely to get prostate cancer than men who hadn’t had one (Harvard Health Publications, 2000). The same conclusion was drawn from other studies as well (University of Iowa Hospitals & Clinics). To further the evidence, the World Health Organization (WHO), which found no association between vasectomy and prostate cancer. In fact, WHO states that they “we are unaware of any scientific evidence linking vasectomies to an increased risk of other types of cancers.”"

Story 3: Op is deffinetlly in the wrong but that doesnt excuse the husband but shes not really being fair either shes basiclly saying he can either get the vasectomy or he can just not get to be in his kids lives which is not ok and is not fair at all but the husband was in the wrong for what he said but i still feel like its unfair that she just expects him to get the vasectomy or he just misses out on his kids childhood which is not ok

Yeah, throughout the argument they had I was just thinking “Are condoms there illegal too or something?” Like, wearing and having what op has basically no chance if any of a pregnancy

@hypo7351 She's mentioned 3 failed condoms already. I don't blame her for not trusting them, even with a second birth control on top of it. I am on two forms myself and I _still_ occasionally get hit with that fear of miracle babies. Plus, if neither want kids anymore, surely the surgery isn't a deal breaker for him. He may be squeamish but 1.Vasectomies are cheaper, safer, less invasive (no cutting open abdominal muscles), and according to studies more effective than tubal ligation. 2. Tubal Ligation recovery can take 2-4 weeks to recover, which is a lot of time to be unable to move or bend down due to muscles recovering. Not to mention how it can affect a woman hormonally. Cramps, heavier periods, and menopause like symptoms are not surprising. Vasectomies take a week at most to heal and rarely if ever have side effects. 3. Good luck finding a doctor willing to do any sort of sterility treatment in the deep south on a woman. Even among doctors there is a deep stigma against sterilizing women. 5. The risk of ectopic pregnancy cannot be overstated. If an egg can be fertilized and attach to the fallopian tube and it isn't caught that can burst the tube and cause sepsis FAST. And in the deep south with anti abortion laws, some doctors will let the ectopic pregnancy grow to the point where the tube bursts to avoid any legal abortion issues.

@@AidaKittyBoy Yeah, I very much get why she doesn’t trust them anymore. Though I may have misunderstood if she was on BC as well as using condoms or not. Still the safer option than without. Maybe the husband is scared about something happening to op and wanting to keep his unsnipped in case something does happen?

@hypo7351 according to the CDC and WHO Condoms have a failure rate of 18% if used correctly every time, vasectomy has a failure rate of 0.15%, getting tubes tied is 0.5%, so vasectomies are more reliable. The only argument that I can see for her getting her tubes tied is that she is more likely to have to get a c-section since she is having twins, so she might have to deal with the long recovery regardless and they can tie her tubes during the c-section. I get her frustration though, because going through pregnancy is a big deal, both medically and financially, and it is not unreasonable to ask the other person to do their part to prevent further pregnancies. If not divorce then I think it's fully reasonable to just go "OK, then I guess the good times are over. no more sex. It was fun while it lasted"

@@Zynt0xik I did not know those percentages, neat. I get her frustration as well. Earlier I was just trying to come up with a way for it to very much reduce the chance of a pregnancy happening again, while there being a bit of a compromise. If she forces him to get a vasectomy, he may hold a grudge or start acting distant. He already showed he was very against it so making him do it will probably result in the marriage not being good for at least a little
