Absolutely great to see you getting the props you deserve Ray. And amazing to think there's still a place for Ilford in the digital era. There's a deep truth to B&W film that just can't be replicated or replaced... Your article is excellent too. I'm going to take up the challenge, order some infrared and get out my old SLR this summer..
Congratulations! That’s a huge honor, and very well deserved, too! I really appreciate how Ilford does notice the smaller photographers. I was fortunate to have them ask me to put a little article up about a photo as well, and just like you, I was very excited. It’s really something special when such a great company notices our work.
Congratulations again man! All that hard work on your original video paid off - this is a big achievement. Looking forward to checking out your new vids as always.
Wait I have Prince Edward subscribed to my channel?? Thanks so much. Could you ask your folks to go easy on Meghan and family, they are carrying a heavy load .
I am pretty stoked about this and so frekin' happy about it. It is fantastic that you have been recognized regardless of the fact that you are not ..well you know what I mean, we talked about this.I hope this continues cause we play a huge part in keeping film alive too. I am so proud man, you rock!
Well deserved! I watched your infrared tutorial last week and it certainly inspired me to take the leap into trying it. So glad to have found your channel. -- KIR in South Korea.
Hey what's up? Thanks so much. You're my first Korean commenter. Hey my wife can't stop watching Korean dramas on Roku. She's obsessed lol. Glad this was helpful
Great article and congrats on the feature, well deserved. While I don't shoot film at all, I genuinely enjoy all your film videos because it gives a fun look at another medium that is pretty timeless. Also great to see a vid of yours pop up in my feed, need something to enjoy and unwind with and your videos are always a source of fun and positivity.
Hello thanks techno, you always leave the most uplifting real comments. For you to not shoot film but still watchmy videos about it that's a huge compliment
@@Raychristofer Back when I was working 2 jobs, I worked in sporting goods on the weekend and since I had a heavy background in golf I was in that department and used to repair and regrip people's clubs. One day a guy was sitting there watching me and I told him he didn't have to wait for me to finish I could call him when they were done and he said that there was just something cool about watching someone that was well honed and an expert at their craft. That kind of stuck with me and I think a similar sentiment applies when i watch your film videos, it's just really cool and unique to watch someone in their element when they really know what they are doing and obviously you've got a cool style of presenting that ties it all together. Educational as well.
@@TeKnoVKNG23 hey thanks man I've got a story also. I'm not into phone reviews but the first time I reviewed 1 years ago one of my buddies told me I left out important tech points and he could tell I'm not excited about phones. He encourage me to do a bunch of research before I reviewed anything else and make sure it's something I'm excited about and I think that's what stuck with me. It's good to have friends to keep it real with you 😉
Congrats! Great article and beautiful images. I just shot a roll of Rollei IR400 with IR720 filter and was really happy with the results. Wish we had a color IR film to shoot!
Hello Clay thanks man, you're right I don't think there is such a thing as infrared film anymore. the sad thing is when I post my film work on infrared Facebook groups they usually talk smack saying that most people here shoot digital. Hey man feel free to share some of your images I like to see them
Congratulations! I've discovered your channel through your Helios lens review. I was excited to then see your IR film video, which is something I have been wanting to try. So neat to see that branch out into the article. Love your photos and videos!
Hello AR it's crazy right? One thing I learned is try to make the best work I can and not expect anything in return. The best thing I thought is they would share a photo on their Instagram but the fact that they trusted me to write this article is really cool. I guess if it sucked they would have not published it LOL
@@Raychristofer That's a great way to approach things, kind of in line with "sing as if noone is listening." We all need to learn that. On top of that, you have a rather charismatic way of explaining things and connecting with the viewer (and the reader in this case!) Congratulations on the article again and hope you're doing well. Excited for those videos you announced and of course more of your photography.
@@Raychristofer I have no worries that you'll keep it real, as always. 😉 Also, who wants to join Club 27 anyway, when nearly double their time has been good to us?
Congratulations Ray, that's awesome! Also thanks for the great content you provide! A number of your videos have been helpful for me and all of them are entertaining so looking forward to those upcoming videos you mentioned. On the note of SFX, I would like to try it as the results look fantastic! I just wish it was available in sheet film sizes.
Hello thank you. Hey I've been doing RU-vid for over 10 years you're the first person that commented from Israel I think. I always wanted to visit a place that Jesus walked. Respect
Hey I appreciate you taking the time to check it out. I wouldn't jive talk anybody on a subject like this. It actually makes me want to put together more articles. It's just a matter of finding other outlets to post them on.
Oh my goodness what have I done. you have my condolences, its cheaper to collect lego kits lol. let me know how it goes for you and definitely consider developing and scanning at home.
Hey bro how you doing? Forgive me I keep forgetting your name. thanks for checking this out I knew you would get a kick out also, one thing that special about this is I know I couldn't call up the company and bribe somebody to put me on I had to earn it. I guess I'm going to have to shoot wet plate next to stay relevant LOL.
This is it, the video I was talking about. You did it before. Cool! Congratulations! I think this is an interesting experience and opportunity. Better to change the title of the video to something like, "How Ilford Magazine invited me to write an article for them." Also, I hope you haven't forgotten this smartphone there. By the way, interesting music in the background. I like it. There is something in it, as if from an action from the 80-90s or something. Can you name the artist who wrote this music?
Hello Alex thanks for taking the time to check this out, yes I may have to adjust the title to fit the search engine optimization. Yes you notice the phone you have a good eye, I was controlling the camera using the Lumix app, that thing is a blessing being able to set focus from a distance. this was when I first started using art list music that song is from an artist named A.M. Beef and the title is "come true" . that feature has helped me already in several ways because when I reach out to companies I show them a link to that and it usually opened some doors. I'm still working on my article for 35 mm magazine but it's taking longer than I hope because it takes a lot of brain power to write something interesting. It's like music so you know the struggle.
