Susan I have to tell you that this is the first tour of a sketchbook that I have really enjoyed. You also inspired me. I have yet to really pick up a brush (but sooo want to) and I never thought I would be attracted to doing structures and that type of painting but seeing the ink with watercolor I am really inspired.
I loved this video. I am tempted to do a sketchbook but I throw away so much stuff it’s too much of a commitment. I have to wait until I have more experience/confidence. Your reflections were quite nice and I thought that the last one (on a lake) was very successful and beautiful.
Starting any sketchbook is daunting! I still have my hesitations :). One thing that I found that helps is to start one that I can designate as my messy sketchbook - helps me set low (or no) expectations for it to be great but helps me have a sketchbook practice!
Love the sketches. You should try daniel smith "essentials set" 6 colors. You can actually mix any color. Including a beautiful tourquoise. I love how your sketches match your vouce so soft and delicate! New subscriber!
Thank you so much! Ah yes, the essentials set! I should look at what colors I'm missing that are in that set. I have a bunch of loose ones and I know there are a few in there I don't have.
I want to try watercolors so it was interesting to see it used for Inktober. Wow thats a cool sketchbook that can handle watercolor on both sides of the pages. I liked your reflections, all the architecture drawings and the bricks too. In Fremont there is an old historical farm called Ardenwood Farms and they usually have a pumpkin patch around that time of year. They have a lot of interesting things to explore if you are in the vicinity and want to bring camera to get photos of Victorian home, gazebo, gardens, livestock, blacksmiths area and more. They've got a website, but i haven't been in years.
Yeah! It's a great sketchbook for watercolor sketching with ink. If you want to do this style I would highly recommend it! Thank you for your thoughtful comment! My husband grew up in Fremont!
