I have noticed that alot of people who born in 2005 and now they are 18 are so smart and creative almost every person i see in internet who is doing an amazing job is 18
It's become a bad habit of mine over the last months that I mindlessly scroll through RU-vid for hours looking for something that I feel connected to, then by accident I found this video and you struck a chord in me. Took me only 1 minute to hit Like and 4 to hit subscribe. I LOVE being creative and can totally identify with your mindset and just realised what you describe is what I've been missing for so long. I gave up on trying new things or even doing what I am good at because I developed a great fear of failure. Now I feel encouraged to pick up my brushes again and dust off old projects that I never finished. Thank you so much.
Your " rambling" is more coherent than a lot of folks' carefully crafted speeches. I'm going to learn to quilt in 2024. Let's journey together. Happy New Year 🎉
Well, you’ve helped boost the motivation of this 61-year-old who just spent the Christmas holidays exploring the creative potential of oil pastels that I’ve carted around with me for 50 years with using them. Suddenly I discovered a new joyful activity and reawakened a skill that lay dormant since grade school.
“i need more color in my life” i don’t think a quote from a youtube video has ever hit me so hard. the way you string your words together is so beautiful and inspiring. your artwork is also breathtaking. i can’t wait to see what else you create ♡︎
Excellent presentation, editing, narration, and paintings! Not sure what it is about the colorful fish but it's oddly fun to see them painted and come to life. Great work as always!
I have been craving this sort of inspiration. This video is SO relatable (especially when it comes to being interested in the many facets that this world has to offer). I have been struggling for the past couple of years when it comes to creativity. From drawing nearly everyday as a young adult, to never picking up a pen in MONTHS as I am nearing the age of 30. I hope to do something creative every day with you, too. Thank you giving people like me a little spark of creativity, a sense of hope, and the feeling of not being alone in craving color in our lives.
Absolutely beautiful! You are so gifted with a voice for storytelling. I love listening to your every word, please never stop. Love the rings you make also! 😻
I speak like Lemony Snicket and I love it and is the way I love to narrate my head and love hearing people speak it’s so calming and makes you actually want to listen and get up and really do smth
Thank you for the inspiration Mick. My daughter bought me a sketch book for Christmas in 2021. I just found it in a box the other day, with only three pencil drawings in it. You've given me motivation to work on more. Maybe to supplement your income you could have prints made of your paintings and sell them. They are great!
Hiya fellow artist and creator! I’m pretty blown away by your attitude and accomplishments for someone so young! It was interesting to see the way you worked with watercolour on this painting. You used it pretty much like gouache and the brush you used was definitely making it even more challenging. Now that you’ve discovered watercolours, I encourage you to dive deep into the process and learn what magic it holds. It is a medium unlike any other and when allowed more freedom on the page (use more water! Lol) it can create a million little masterpieces all by itself! Play around with different brushes, papers, paints and techniques. Let it loose on the page to flow and mix with other colours…you will have an absolute ball! Welcome to the watercolour lover’s club. Happy painting! ❤
I hear and watch many, many videos here on youtube trying to rescue the joy in me to create, that in the past year I've completely lost.. and none did anything to me, until today I saw your video. I will learn to dance and tattoo in 2024. There is so much life in what you do, keep posting. This was so lovely, like a flame that lits others. Lets all make company to each other in the way; Warm regards from Brazil
This is my first video of yours and I was immediately enamored and inspired by your talent and passion. You're an artist in the truest sense and this little five and a half minute video motivated me to keep creating even when discouraged so thank you :)
That was just what l needed at 5.30 am. I can't sleep. I'm happy to be awake watching this. Calming, inspiring, and mesmerising. It occurred to me that you might enjoy Chinese Colligraphy. I purchased a pack of brushes to paint pictures with. They are a dream to paint with. The brushes are sort of far with a tapered off tip. They hold an incredible amount of paint. I recommend mixing up thin coloured inks or watercolours, and starting with petals or leaves, you will be stoked with the results. ❤
I constantly worry about not drawing good enough and therefore not getting into art school. Something like this, taking a step back, really makes the stress disappear, and in turn I make the best art I ever have nearly every time I create, purely because my perspective is no longer negative. This year I’ll try to explore the natural world with art, and hopefully share the journey with you :)
This has absolutely left me floored and inspired to make and try lots of stuff - please make more watercolour paintings and more on who you are, what you’re all about. You’re not going to mess it up - just be you. Lovely to have the RU-vid algorithm do its job and recommend a great person ❤
Beautiful work! 🤩 I’m also a lifelong maker, always trying new things, last year I started blacksmithing and will continue diving deeper on that this year and probably many more
Mick, I absolutely love what you are doing. I appreciate the short quick concise videos that are packed full of interesting, intelligent and intriguing content! Thank for sharing your talent and encouraging others to join in the journey!
It is a delight to witness the amazing process that brings one's ideas to physical reality ! The brain/eye/hand connection is a real gift ! Thank you ! Happy to go along on your journey ! Stay safe , well , creative and always , finding Joy in unexpected places !!
Happy New Year Mick! So excited to see all your beautiful creations on this channel in 2024. I don’t mind voice overs either! Wishing you all the best in 2024!! ❤🙏
Enjoyed this Mick. Voice over is fine. Delighted you didn't say "Toil for your food" Just nice farewell sentence. Natural. Thank you. I am going to enjoy your journey. I'm also looking for to see you making those rings and going back to the cabin. You have been very honest. Great work. Interesting and entertaining journey.
Hello Mick...you have what it takes to not only create beautiful art, but to inspire & light that spark of creativity that that is inside all of us who love making art. I put all of my dreams of being a painter on the back burner to raise my 2 kids, etc...that was many years ago, but thankfully, that dream never left...I try to paint or draw every day. as they say, "just show up"! Can't wait to see what all you will accomplish! Peace & Love..
AHHHHHH...a joy to listen to good enunciation, clear explanation, and good grammar. A rare thing nowdays. It was a pleasure to listen to you (plus your voice is very lovely). Enjoy your life.
You are so gifted Mick! I hope you turn your art into works that can be purchased. Maybe your own Etsey shop. I would support that for sure! So excited to watch your art journey.
Wow this wideo really hit home! Speachless. This is exactly what I need for this moment, been yearning to establish a habit of creating art everyday. And seems like Im not the only one. Thank you Mick, Im glad to join this community🌻🌼🌸
I love the watercolors you’re doing, and it would be amazing to see more! It would be really cool to see you try to mesh two concepts together(two animals, an animal and an object, an object and a word, etc.). I’ve done similar exercises before and it really helped sparked my creativity, especially when I had the goal of just creating and not necessarily making something perfect.
I have been following your Alaska cabin build and liking it, but this......this art theme is awesome!!!! It blew me away! I look forward to seeing more. As I was watching, it dawned on me that your book of 2024 paintings may one day be showcased on a museum wall.
Houston here. First time watching. Your tone and the music were so calming. I just found diamond painting. I’m really enjoying it. At first I was rushing thru it, pushing down to hard on the canvas, gripping the gem tool with a death grip. As I noticed this I slowed down, relaxed, an my crazy self just paused a bit. This gramma has rushed thru life an now at 73 I’m at the edge looking over. I pray for peace.
Love the fish. At the end of the year you’ll have a gorgeous book. Even if some days you may not love what you paint, thats a good day spent arting regardless. Love that. :)
This is so amazing. I admire how you can use a brush so casually, ideally wow! I love how the page turned out and you really inspired me. I mean I have never seen a person that is so engaged in creating. And when you said that "You have nothing to loose, only to gain" or something these lines, it hit me. I can take out the clay and make something from it. Thank you❤
Just got back into creating after a mostly non creative stretch of 10-15 years. I’m 65 and I’m so glad I found you young man! You inspire me for sure! 😁
You sound like me! I do the same. I clicked because of your awesome fish painting here. I would totally buy a small print of that!!! I think it’s gorgeous! I was chuckling over your brush…. It looks like mine. 😊 Subscribed and thanks for the cool intro to your gig!
This video popped up for me today, and I'm so glad! Loved hearing your thoughts. I've already got a little project going for the month of January. May shift gears for the next month, but will play it by ear just for the fun of it.
I'm all in on this amazing creative journey! I've been wanting to start a journey like this but was waiting for a community to start it with. Your channel is the exact community i needed! Can't wait to see more, love your work 🙂
Funny how you say "I'm rambling" and I'm thinking "NO YOU AREN'T!" Funny, because I say this phrase a lot, and my best friend always takes exception. I've learned that what seems like a "ramble" to me, is not necessarily a ramble to others. I think it goes with that storytelling gift. Please - ramble! This is the best part of EVERY video you make. So good to find this channel. Wishing you the best in 2024.
I needed to hear this, thank you for the inspiration. I've been having trouble making things lately, even though it feels necessary for my mental health.
Thank you Mick! I am not an artist, but I enjoy watching the process and the fruit of your labors! I create in my kitchen. I love the process of trial and success. You have inspired me in so many ways! Your quest in Alaska has motivated me to buy some land this year. I also want to start a channel to teach others how to cook delicious, nutritious meals in the kitchen and over a campfire. Thank you!
Love your philosophie, I am krafter, florist the day ceramist painting, drawing, crochet, rake, smoke ceramic fiering , I think it’s amazing what you do you seems very good, wish you for 24 and over to always be amazed by wonders from this world
Beautiful art! I have a similar sketchbook/journal, and I absolutely love the texture of the pages. From one artist to another, keep up the flow and enjoy the process. I look forward to seeing more of your craft! ❤️
What kind of sketchbook/paper would you call that! It looks super appealing to work on but I'm not sure where to start trying to look up the type of paper
Your passion for creating is contagious ❤ This is the first video of yours I've watched, and I thank you for doing this. I've a lot of goals and dreams as well, and I hope I can act on them consistently this year. Best wishes to both of us, and to everyone else on their similar journey!
You are so talented! The painting is beautiful. And you most definitely have the gift of story-telling & the perfect voice for doing so. Looking forward to more content here & on your other channel as you continue building your life in Alaska. I'm a Floridian - born & raised here - but for some reason I am so drawn to Alaska. I'm about to plan a 5th trip there for later this year. It's such a beautiful place. You are very fortunate to have property there & with a nice view too.
The story of your creative journey helped me better understand myself. I’m glad I discovered your channel. Love your aesthetic and wholesomeness. Subscribed
I share your love of watercolor, l’m entranced by the luminosity and beauty achievable. I believe in the value of working each day, and I see improvement and growth in even a few weeks of practice and trying to pick up the techniques that other artists have worked out over many years. So, I will commit to doing something creative every day is 2024. Thank you for the inspiration.❤
never resonated so much with someone so much about having a deep fascination with the world and such a strong desire to create by whatever means possible; art has and always will be my lifeblood. so glad to have stumbled upon this video, I subscribed right away and can't wait to see all the work that you make this year. I absolutely will be filling a journal of my own, thank you for encouraging such a wonderful goal.
You're so talented! Your paintings are beautiful! I'm a sometimes artist and you've inspired me to do this everyday. I'll be on this 2024 journey with you :)
This spoke to me so much, it’s 12 pm and I just took a pencil and drew something, so now my day feels complete. Thank you for the inspiration. Looking forward to see how you complete these pages 😊
