Centipede myth idea. Centipedes are segmented so maybe there's a legend about a bunch of little bugs that got connected together into a whole creature that keeps growing forever, sort of like real world stories of the rat king.

Regarding your intro, I dont think videos like these should be considered "filler". Since people really enjoy your painting and especially this culture project, I think it should be considered your main content too, and the videos that take longer, require more research etc could be special projects within that, or the cabin fever painting should be framed as a series. Idk if it was an attempt at humility but saying you consider this as filler was kind of a letdown right at the beginning! I think you've doubled in sub count since i first started watching, which is awesome to see and well deserved. I really like your art style, thoughtfulness, and how you handle mediums/material. Trust me, if people are asking what materials you use, its because they think what youre doing is some kind of magic and the material must be the secret ingredient. So if youre getting that question, you're doing things right!

Hi Mick! I pray you are well! I used to paint, draw, and write poetry back when I was 4-5 years old. Sadly I allowed a negative comment, shortly after that, from someone dear to me put an end to all that. At 57 I wish to reignite that blessing, the good Lord willing, once again. God bless you! ~John

Mick you are artist through and through. Art is in every cell of your being! Just be who you are and keep finding a way forward! No fear! Your genius level talent will make a way for you.

I think it’s a good idea where you stopped and put the one piece away for now. Not trying to force it. Your subconscious will come up with something while you are working on something else. The art is very cool looking.

As a fellow creative person, this is one of the most fascinating videos I’ve seen on YT. I really enjoying seeing you work through your creative process. It’s given me a lot of good inspiration for my own creating. I can’t wait to see what you do next!

I love to see people go in depth with their fantasy cultures. Far too many very cool worlds are marred by having their cultures be literally just actual cultures, e.g. Medieval England or just Ren Faire. It's a loss for the creator because it's such an overdone trope, so I'm excited to see where you take these! To be honest I've struggled with that in my own world, though I think I'm getting better. I can't wait to see what this world ends up like!

Can't wait for you not only "writing" about the material culture of all these cultures but also making it, Jewelry, weaponry, religious artifacts, etc, etc... No need to rush it, but happy that you have found something that can keep you busy for a long time and serves as a perfect "excuse" to learn all kinds of skills. Maybe in a couple of decades you'll be erecting giant granite monoliths in your local park hahahaha!

Centipedes are scary, very scary. A friend of mine had one (scolupendra) he kept in a very large round bodied bottle(like a meter high). When it was dinnertime the creature would run in circles and actually gain so much speed it pretty soon figured out it could climb upwards through that method, like one of those Wall of Death motorcycle attractions. My friend basically had to pull of the lid, chuck the food in and close it up fast. He soon gave it away to someone who knew better what he was doing because having that thing in the same room as where he slept while it was so fast and ferocious was simply to much. I simply don’t want to think about a giant scolupendra charging through thick jungle vegetation, slithering like a snake through all the plants , the rhythmic sounds of all it’s feet hitting the ground. Even at huge sizes it would be fast and because of it’s sleak build very well-adapted to moving fast through the jungle. Not gonna lie, if you are a lone human that would be near certain death. You can’t win. The animals themselves make no sound, the only sounds they make come from interaction with terrain. I’ll never forget the frantic tapping of the legs on the glass bottle, and that was a small one. A huge one would make grown men cry in terror… The tales of the centipede wouldn’t be mythical, they would be horror. They would be effective tales not only told to children but also adults about why wandering of into the deep jungle is a very bad idea. An elder telling the story while others would produce sound effects by shaking branches or tapping on the bottoms of ceramic pots would send chills down spines…

You commented in your video that you don't know how to paint a 'carved stone effect'. Mary Sanche [a RU-vidr] has an excellent tutorial on how to paint in watercolors carved stone runes [ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-QJ2ASTbel8A.html] Highly recommend her video. You'll have no problem using her technique for your carved stones. By the way you are very creative and love your world building/painting videos.

I really enjoy your videos. The voice over, music and content are top notch! However…I cringe every time I see your brushes. Do yourself a favor and buy a few good brushes. You have shown you dont need expensive supplies to make amazing art but a nice new brush will make the process more enjoyable.

If u really loved art, you wouldn't leave such comments.Lot of artist prefer working with more "destroyed brushes" for its texture or whatever reason it can be. Me, myself an artist, i made art out of toilet paper. He uses those brushes because he clearly wants to.

Yep, that's typically good advice to replace old brushes. Depends what you're going for.
