I have a deep, never-ending desire to spend exorbitant amounts of my earnings on paint, paper, pens, an semiprecious metals. This channel is an attempt to justify those spending by turning them into art for the enjoyment of an audience.
Hi Mick, i hope you are okay! I want you to know that even though you haven't uploaded in a while it doesn't matter to all of us who watch your videos and love your art. Take however long you need <3
Mick you are a very talented artist. As an old lady I am going to take you literally when you said please comment and that is where you get ideas for videos. Is totally finishing your cabin in your plan? I would like to see it completed and good to go for the next winter.
It's nice seeing a fantasy world building youtuber who focuses on two of my favorite parts of fantasy world building being cultures and believable animals! Quite creepy in fact how closely this aliens with my interests lol. also that bit about giant flying lizards being unrealistic just had me thinking of Quetzalcoatlus that were roughly the size of giraffes and were lizards who flew, though that's just me nit picking. I prefer the direction you went in, made some very unique beasties
Yeah I literally bring up quetzlcoatlus in the video so I don’t know what I was talking about lol, I was more referring to the classic Smaug-esq dragons we’re familiar with. Really glad you enjoyed it:)
You are an artist through and through. You’re creativity alone surpasses any realism art the algorithm forces on us. And all that skill executed with that curved brush 😂 I love your work and I’m always excited to see a new post!!
Mick, love both your channels. I live in Alaska too just moved up this year. My husband is originally from here. I’m also a lover of all things watercolor. You should post your P.O. Box in your video descriptions so we can send you mail!
how can you hate dragons?!?☹😛 there are so many different types of dragons out there to draw! and so many things to do with them. *prepares for fight*😝
Thanks for sharing your art and your process. The best advice I've seen about worldbuilding is to write lore and you do that with your art. You have reasons for everything you do and you tell stories with what you paint.
What about more of the different tribal groups? Something along the lines of a more mineral/mining type of culture sort of similar to classic dwarves but in your style.
lol no, I watched the curious archive video on it but it’s not a huge influence. I take much more from the Vonyich manuscript and the paintings of Louis Renard (both are extremely cool go check them out
This was so fun to listen to and watch. You have such an interesting opinion on dragons, and your art is beautiful as always! I love this sort of thing. Ever think about writing a book in this world?
Those are sick! I love the idea of the arboreal nature of the jungle dragon. The hallucinogen is also an awesome way to incorporate the ridiculous speech trope.
I love dragons (primarily the European ones with colossal wings) but I like your process of creating these creatures. Your thought processes are fascinating, and I love the little details like the hoard of bones and the hallucinogenic effect of the venom. Thank you for sharing your artwork with us.
