My Journey as a Rhythmic Gymnast: THE COMMONWEALTH GAMES

My daughter has recently started RG and I’m going to show her this video even though she is too young to fully understand it, but the attitude that you have is more important than any results. This was very moving.

Thank you for this video! I was on the pre professional ballet track when I was younger and into my teenage years. I didn’t get on the professional track, however I continued throughout my adult life, I missed performing and the ballet world so much, with the help of different teachers and privately training hard with my professional ballet dancer friend, I performed a solo in a show last week for three nights and received a standing ovation on opening night. In a few weeks, I’m auditioning for a nutcracker and I’m almost 40! With the help of mentors, god and perseverance, my ballet dreams are coming alive again!

I have started RG in the age of 5 I'm currently 12 I had a birthday on the 24th of Jan. This video was really inspiring, I will have my first abroad competition in April it's in Poland. I'm very excitet, just getting the opportunity was my dream.

It was kind of surreal hearing the voice of Christine Still, the BBC commentator, during the excerpts of the routines you showed. She's been covering artistic gymnastics since the early '90s iirc but I don't think I've ever heard her on RG. I've been subscribed to your channel for a number of years now, so you seem familiar and relatable. Hearing her talking about you made me remember that you are famous! Your coach (the lady who was with you when you got your scores) seems like a sweetheart! Why do rhythmic gymnasts wear kneepads while training? I love how you always express gratitude for what you are experiencing even when things get tough. In the distant future, when you look back on these memories, you will not have any regrets. I've already said this 100 times, but your family looks like so much fun! They're so supportive of you, and you're always thinking of them. Thank you for the video!! 🙏💚🦘🌷🐨😄

Thank you for sharing you're story Hannah. As many of you have shared your story already I thought it only right to share mine too. I started figure skating 1 year ago and I love it soo much. One of my goals is to compete to the highest level I possibly can. I'm also going to start medical school in September I don't want to be in a position to choose one, that would absolutely break my heart. I decided to dedicate all my energy into doing them at the same time but I don't want to have any regrets so I'm going to give it my all until the end!!

Thank you so much for sharing this. Seeing you on your journey and seeing this makes me feel quite emotional. You are such an inspiration and I very much appreciate how you communicate with the people on this world who follow your journey too and maybe aspire to become as strong as you are. I follow you since a few years now and remember exchanging some comments with you about how this sport, rg, is so rare here and how hard it is for people at my age on finiding a spot in a club. I knew you had rough time, because you mentioned it, but I didn't know it was that rough. Normally seeing documents about athletes, videos where they talk about their journeys feel so far away but suddenly you seem so close. Of course you are leagues above and I don't dare to say I know you, because that wouldn't be true at all. It was just this video, your story... I actually can't put it into words. Anyway for you I am just another follower but to me I realized you became a small part of my journey. Your words back then, your videos and posts they all became an inspiration to me and strengthend me. I may not be a professional nor am I a real Rhythmic gymnast anymore but when I think about it, it may be also because of you, not you alone, but at least a small part of it, that I created my own team. I became a coach but I am also a member of my team. In one year I created little show gymnasts who are crazy for learning new rhythmic and acrobatic stuff and always smile when they can show the people what they have become, - what they can do. And so do I. I now do things I only dreamed of but felt I would never be able to do them at all. It surely is not the path I hoped for or even thought of back then but it is my reality now. I do not have an ultimate goal. Right now I just aspire on always beating myself and become a stronger and better me who can put a smile on peoples face. I am glad I have found you because you teach people like me that there is always a way as long as there is a will to keep on moving, keep on fighting. Normally seeing and hearing those things from a person who climbed as high as you become intimedating or feel empty towards those who are so to say 'inferior'. But it's different with you. Thank you so much for everything. You truly became an idol.

Great video Hannah. you are an incredibly talented, disciplined and dedicated young woman.I truly think you will go far in the ballet world and beyond that who knows? I think like Darcey Bussell who also started out in gymnastics, that you could have a career in the media. Maria Khoreva also started out as a RG so the sport gives you a good grounding for dance.

How did you place at the games at the end?

I have done national dance when I was 6 for a few month and gymnastics at 9 nearly for a year. I want to start ballet but I am nearly 13, my dream is to do at-least 1 competition before 20. Can I make it?
