The music and cinematography during those reps were excellent. Fit the mood and energy I would have expected (or maybe wanted) to feel if I was doing some 5:40 mile reps. Awesome job!

So I woke up early this AM and did my usual 5:30 run, and the entire time I was fretting that I had missed the Houston Marathon and the chance to cheer you on. Glad to know I didn’t and that it’s yet to come. Even more glad to know you’re in prime condition and ready to rock it out! (Also glad to know I’m not the only one who clears their sinuses in their shirt. Sometimes the snot rockets just don’t cut it.) Best of luck!!!

Can't do anything other than wish wish you the very best of luck in the race. You have obviously sacrificed a lot by being across the Atlantic during Xmas/New Year (assuming that you like being with family and friends over this period!) so I really hope the performance in Houston justifies the hard work. Hope the taper isn't too stressful!

Well done Phily!! I can't wait to see what you achieve next week! If your target would be 5:20-5:30 at sea level, where would that sit in terms of your race paces? Just wondering how to adjust it to my own times

Pretty sure she needs something like a 2:20-2:25 to qualify, so that’s what she’s aiming for. That’s like 5:20-5:30 pace. Probably need closer to 5:17-5:27 to account for running a few extra tenths over the course, though she’ll be out front so she can run the tangent pretty well. Basically it looks like she’s doing these repeats at goal marathon pace.

It’s interesting to see you use the nasal strips. When I was in high school athletics, back in the late 90’s, they were a big thing. Everyone was using them. I had my son use them in one of his cross country races and everyone was like, “what is that on your nose?”

I tried Breathright strips. Great for night time to stop me snoring so badly, but they slick right off when I sweat. Now I use a Mute nasal dilator. Game changer!

Good job on Daniel's hair cut! My husband's mom cut his hair when he was a kid and accidentally shaved off a big spot so she double sided taped his hair (that she shaved off) back to his head and sent him to school like that!😂
