@@nacio01 I’ve already had my interview. An appointment is an official acceptance by the government and specific brach/ academy for you to attend one of the academies. It’s normally takes until March/ April to know if you’ve gotten one or not.
I’m crying. I ran across this video years ago at a low point in my life and I was never able to find it again until now. The passing memories this stranger showed was so beautiful. It was then that I was inspired to do my best with my life too. I’m glad I found this years later. Thank you.
I love rigid discipline and military life, plus I want to study aeronautical engineering. I'd rather get that degree from USAFA than some other college. But I understand what you are saying
Awesome! Just work hard and if its your dream then you'll make it happen. Sure its different than normal schools and probably a little more stressful than what the average undergrad goes through, but it was worth it to me and was the best decision I ever made.
Don't listen to any naysayers. Ask any grad and almost without exception they will tell you that going to USAFA was the best decision of their lives. I wish I could go back and do it again - '77 grad :)

My younger brother dreams to go here. He is pushing himself to be the top of his class (he is succeeding in) and does sports. This video just shows how much fun this place can be not just brutal hard work.
Wished I could go there one day. Never knew about the academies. Grew up abused & neglected so I never knew anything about these kinds of opportunities. I'm glad that these are available to the younger generation who are lucky enough to both know about them & study hard to gain acceptance.

Hey Adam! do you recall what classes relating to math and science you took in high school that helped you get an edge when applying for the USAFA? I've read plenty of articles on what classes to take/what grades to get/sat score to shoot for, but I'd love to hear what classes in high school a cadet from the academy took and what grades they got in those classes if possible! I Know for you High School was a long time ago and some things might be hard recall!
Hey man thats a good question. I took pretty much all AP Math and Science classes, I think my last math class in HS was AP Calc BC. I did relatively well, A's and B's all around. It is important to take those classes and do well in them but the Academies definitely look at the whole person and see that you can excel in several areas.
Just out of curiosity were you on the AFA’s Jump Team from the amount of parachute video because I’m going to apply for the academy and that’s one of the things I want to try and do there if I get in.

Brought tears to my eyes....ALL that had work, sacrifice, to be The Best, and the FUTURE of the USAF. Pretty daunting shit....and welcome relief to a generation(s) that thinks the world revolves around their ass. You know, like the typical RU-vidr who thinks "What I Fucking Ate Today" is fascinating shit. And weirdly enough, is....because it's all about Views! And monetization. And somehow people make money doing that....Life. Meanwhile, these Academy grads HAVE a Life....and are willing to sacrifice their very lives for a higher purpose than Self; Country.

There's a fair share of people who graduated from USAFA that grew up with nothing. Some of these individuals I am lucky enough to call friends. If you earn your spot at USAFA you will get free tuition (free money-wise) and actually get paid a few hundred dollars a month depending on your class year. It's not much, but it's enough to do everything in this video even if you're completely on your own or have no place to actually call home. In that scenario, your friends and sponsors become your home.
