I love the Style Arc Belle dress so much I made it twice - earlier in the year I made a summer version and now I've sewn up a winter version in our ex designer deadstock fabric. There is so much to love about this pattern, but my favourite feature has to be the clever waist design. A fitted yoke at the front is sewn to a shirred panel at the back meaning you get the smooth silhouette of a fitted waist without compromising on comfort and it is nice and easy to fit too thanks to the give of the elastic shirred panel.
The Style Arc Belle dress feels so elegant to wear thanks to the midi length skirt and I love the clever construction details too, which create a nice, neat finish. The button band isn't a separate piece, rather the edge of the fabric is fused and folded back then top stitched down and the bodice pieces are cleverly sandwiched between the yoke at the front. All in all a massively satisfying sew.
I've styled my winter version with my favourite block heeled suede knee high boots, trusty leather biker jacket and an aubergine handbag which tones well with the pretty popping colours on the ex designer deadstock fabric.
I love the bohemian feel of the Belle dress and the dark, moody abstract fabric felt like the perfect match.
