With all the great Leica gear...why invest in Nikon Z9? Great selection of Leica gear. My favorite Leica was also the M6 w/ 35 f2. Enjoyed your video! Dave
I am also keeping my M6 bought in the late 80’s. My favorite lens is the 50 mm Summilux ASPH. It is difficult for me to justify the purchase of that expensive 75 mm Noctilux since I already own the limited silver edition of the APO Summicron. I have been using my collection of M lenses mostly on the SL2. I found it works well even with the 135 mm f/4 Tele-Elmer lens.
Die Leica Kameras haben eine Eleganz und Schönheit die seinesgleichen sucht! Die Fertigungsqaulität ist hervorragend! Wer einmal eine Leica Kamera in den Händen hält - der weiß was ich hier beschrieben habe 🌞
Thank you for sharing. Do you ever pair the Leica lenses with the Z9? I am a Z9 shooter and currently own a few old Nikkor lenses, my favorite being the Nikkor ais 105mm f/2.5 via an FTZ2 adapter. I am currently waiting for another adapter, a Techart PRO Leica M - Nikon Z Autofocus Adapter ver II (TZM-02). This adapter has inbuilt motors which allows you to autofocus Leica manual focus lenses!. So my question to you is, what would you recommend me buying as a lightweight, walk around lens as my first Leica lens? Also, do you have a link to good resolution photos from your Leica lenses that we can view in detail?
Yes I got the Techart M to Z adaptor and it works very well very accurate. You can see my images on my FB or I can email to u . The Techart on my Z6 is beautiful
@@stephenspiteri_zunkus try to friend me on FB and I'll friend you or you can email me and I'll send you specific images from Leica or Nikon , Hassy etc. I think that would be better. johnishii@me.com
John, Assalaamu Alaikum! Apa khabar? Thank you for sharing your vast and amazing Leica kit. I am an unofficial Leica fanboy. My kit has gone through several iterations but currently consists of the M3, M11, & SL2-S. The 24 3.4, 35 f2, 50 1.2, 75 1.25, & the 135 APO. But your sharing has created a question that you specifically may be very qualified to answer. I’m currently considering some kit additions: The MP. The new 35 1.4 FLE II. And last but hardly least, the Noct 50 0.95. My question to you is, which fast 50 would most recommend in 2022, the legendary Noct 50 0.95 or the new and highly acclaimed Voigtlander Nokton 50 f1.0? Very curious. Thank you for your time. Continued happiness and success to you and yours. Salaam, Doc Chaps
Ah good question my friend, pagi to you. Your collections looks very vast and comprehensive . Firstly the M3 is the king period your lucky you got one. My wife has the M11 and loves it. As to your question I had the Noct 95 but sold it as it was to heavy never used so it just took up space. The new 35 summilux I would pass as I have 2 already its more than good "if it ain't broke don't fix it " Cant see upgrading huge RM for what. So the only fast 50 is the Nokton1.0 which I just got and its heaps better than the Leica 0.95 and way cheaper for sure. And I use that lens on my Nikon Z6 which works great. To me the ultimate 50 is the APO Leica 50 f2. But big money. Try to find a 2nd one. The prices of Leica are insane and lucky I got my collection over the years. The MP is really cool looking I feel love it. But for me no more buying Leica cameras, Leica has gone astray and are trying to capture the luxury folks and not photographers which is a shame. The Leica SL2 is pure junk in my oppion came back from Mongolia and in very cold weather the SL2 cease to work and the battery life was only 10 mins or less. As for my Nikon Z9 one battery 24 hrs in minus 25 which out any issues . My M10 did pretty good but only used the Leica Summaron lens which is must have lens also. Hope this helps you out. This my opinion only and my experience using Leica for the past 30 years.
Your humility is amazing and very much respected. But anyone shooting Leica for 30 years is a voice to be listened too. Thank you for your quick and informative response. I value it so much so that the Noct 50 0.95 is completely off the table. The MP may be as well because I rarely shoot film. So definitely not enough to justify a $5,000 purchase. The Voigtlander Nokton 50 f1.0 is my next purchase and I’m very excited about that. WRT the Leica APO M glass. At one time I owned every lens. 50, 75, 90, & the 135. Bokeh is very good but I primarily shoot portraiture, Street, and documentary/travel photography. So ultimately I sold my APO glass, except for the 135, and started buying character glass. The Noct 75 f1.25 is incredible! But as you said, not a full body lens. So that super fast 50 should handle that nicely. Thank you again for unselfishly sharing your knowledge and vast experience with me. Please review my website: thakirahphotography.com. Continued happiness and success to you and yours. Why so many very light sensitive lenses? I avoid them on a Leica M, because they are big, heavy, and most of all block the viewer. Why carry these disadvantages around all the time, just in case you need f1.2?
