That was HILARIOUS seeing you guys trying to get around Crabtree mall and giving up!! Food court is upstairs near where you were, gotta use the Macy's or Belk escalators, yo! lol You ended up at a better place I think.. Still, rockers need to go to Angus Barn a few miles away 😀. VIR is great place to see a race, they have a Ferrari day, but that Blue Ridge event did look like a nightmare! Honestly, come back and play the Lincoln Theater in downtown, or Cat's Cradle in Chapel Hill. That's where all the alt rock/metal happens locally. Small venues though. Still Rev Horton Heat, and the great Robert Cray have played those places!

I stage managed a huge country festival. Actually the first HUGE country festival in the USA when it started back in 1977, I can't believe this shit!! The busses came straight in to the lot and the production off was right next door and the stage was right in front of the lot. Loading docks on the side. Even when we first started that it was way better than this. Now I remember what happened. they screwed the union hands and they walked. Not to mention overbooked, not enough water, not enough waste facilities. This was a money grab and I'm glad it failed.

Thank you and love your videos and love love the tour diaries. I might not be the sharpest tool in the shed but how many millions of records, cd’s, t-shirts and fan magazines have Ratt and Motley Crüe sold this should be a Jeopardy question. The festival forgot a few things five star hotels and restaurants, limousines and chauffeurs, traffic police, water stations, more entrances but the helicopter is not necessary.

TankTheTech's account of Blue Ridge in his role as tour manager for Electric Callboy is harrowing, and well worth a watch on his channel. He was involved in loading and unloading gear off trucks, and found that the festival had only ONE flatbed to cover the entire event. By some miracle the band still managed to play a show despite HOURS of delays in setting up. Apparently 200 of the volunteers walked off the job the next day over sparsity of facilities like toilet and showers. The festival made up some bullshit lie about how weather caused the cancellation. Hopefully everyone responsible will never work in the industry again. Although if they managed to make money off it then there are always scumbags out there willing to hire them to do it again.

We were there camping it was a complete shit show. I'm mid 40s, grew up listening to Motley, Metallica, Guns N Roses - but I still like the new music too. I have listened to Dr Feelgood hundreds of times, but man Vince sounds awful now. Sometimes you gotta know when it's time to retire.

Been looking forward to the this. You guys have to blame the booking agency. There was no way for anyone to know how bad all of it is or was going to be. The agency looked at the money and said "yes". Maybe I'm wrong, but there seems to be no way to know how bad, except for previous festival history, and how bad that was. I think there was some research from the previous festivals that could have led to a predicted bad experience

So, a logistical odyssey of over 20 hours to grace the stage for 40 minutes? If you paid me $10,000 I would not attend a verm-fest like this…I never understood these things - I never went to any festival except to see Pantera at Blossom in Cleveland. We rode in, watched Pantera and then rode out. Just the generic stage with amps on wheels and switch in switch out takes away from the magic of a concert.
