My Little Pony G5 Issue #1 - Review & Analysis 

i loved this comic! i can't wait for issue 2. 😁

This comic feels less like a contained story and more as build up for the next issue. 1. The flashback raises the question of how Argyle knew about Canterlot when it was an era long before him. It's also strange that both in the movie and here, Argyle has so much faith in Sunny. Dr Wolf had this theory that Argyle somehow knew/prophesized Sunny's Future ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-8IDNpYENigc.html 2. It's also odd how Sunny and Pipp casually mention Twilight. In the movie, it was implied that the Mane 6's existence was forgotten/doubted 3. Another thing is the lighthouse. While we hardly see the outside, it turns out it still the same lighthouse from the movie, the inside is simplistic instead of colorful and extravagant and the Unity Crystals are on an altar instead of a floating glass shaft. Since months passed between the movie and Make your Mark, maybe the comics take place in between and they will explain how the lighthouse changed. But that raises even more questions/plot holes, especially since Tell Your Tale is implied to be canon

I don't get it, I thought the point of the timeskip was to move on from old things? Would the ponies really not just inhabit Canterlot or patch it up or something if it's not like, lost to time? Is it like an uninhabitable radioactive danger zone? Strikes me as a weird cynical choice, like they're only doing this because we know what a Canterlot is.

I think it'd be neat if Hasbro decided not to place G5 directly in G4's shadow.

Consdering the head writer lady for this has some....weird credits to her name and some really boring detective comics I can't say I am suprised. Lets call it for what it is, this will suck and over 10 years of lore and 100 issues of the G4 comics went down the shitter. It honestly boggles my mind how Hasbro just axed G4 regardless how dull the show was for me, there were probably alot more fans and Bronies out there that would've consumed 2-3 more season. Unlike Disney Star Wars they really didnt screw up the original vission for the show too badly so the money would've just printed itself, but NOPE they axed it and a decade of lore and character development dosent matter. So Twilight was groomed by Celestia from the beginning to take the throne so she and Luna can retire and despite all Twilight and her friends accomplished Equestria falls apart after no more than a decade or a century. That is just...wow...it basically means it didnt matter in the long run. Thanks for the review, now I know how right I was about the new comics.

Does it really matter? Going by the last mlp comic series, it's not going to be canon.

Since the canterlot is here that means twilight sparkle spike flurry heart and cadence might be alive somewhere in G5 except for discord which is apparently

Izzy and pinkie pie is same just half they over fun and joy and side they have serious issues about abandoned just like pinkie pie her friend doesn't come to party

i love the art style though
