1 III user here, altho I have the european variant. Have you tried to repair gour software using the newflasher and then the Xperia Companion? Saved me from gettimg annoyed. Also, check XDA. There's a ROM for this device called EvolutionX, and the developer had the care to keep most stock stuff like Dolby, Camera apps (some ported from 1 IV), and improves a cople of stuff like the GPU glitches on some games, some better thermals and even adds WiFi 6E for everyone in case yours is lacking (mine was). I was actually just reading about EvolutionX yesterday, It seems like they were able to incorporate some pretty interesting features. I'm strongly considering trying it out, though I am hoping to see another update drop beforehand to address some of the comments some folks have been leaving. I'm also impressed with some of the latest kernals coming out, good to see the device is still getting love! As for the newflasher, I'm not sure if that's something I've tried yet? I know I've used the Xperia Companion to recover from a failed flash at one point, but I'll have to do some more digging to see exactly what methodology I used. issues about shutter lag? i never experienced it in my unit. and my battery life is good, having tweaked lots of options. i do it in all of my phones. yes the phone heats up hwile gaming but isn't that true to all Snapdragon 888 phones?
I only on Sony a bit, but I'm using a 5 III currently which is a smaller version of the 1 III in nutshell, it's cool and so but i have mainly problems with the how the phone handles when gaming because the SD888 on this thing overheats (gotta have to use a fan on it lmao, idk if that happens on your 1 III when doing gaming or running emus tho also yes the flash on this thing isn't that crazy, tho i like the camera tbh I'm still using it as of now 👀 Thinking about running emulators on it because this thing is still good lol
It works great! So far I haven't had any issues playing anything through AetherSX2 or Dolphin, and a majority of titles I run through Yuzu/Skyline work great (though I haven't done extensive testing). PC games also work great through ExaGear / Winulator
It definitely gets hot, especially if you leave 5G enabled in your cellular settings. Turning off 5G in favor of 4G will keep the heat down across the board, though you can still expect it to get toasty while using more demanding emulators.
Holy shit dude, if my phone had just half of these issues I would have smashed it into a million pieces by now from anger. I can't believe Sony managed to produce such an utter garbage device. My Xperia 10 iv which is like 1/4 the price of this one has almost no issues. The only thnk I could think of is a crappy fingerprint reader, that half the times misses to read, other times completely bugs out. But everything else has been almost flawless for me. I really have no idea how people have patience to live with phones, that need constant restarting just to clear the built up issues and bugs. I would not tolerate such behaviour on a £100 device.
Good info on the Xperia 10 IV, thanks for the insight! I honestly LOVED this device, even with the issues! The screen is great, speakers are amazing, and the gaming/emulation potential made it perfect for a pocket gaming rig! But after the latest issues with the app's breaking after resets, it started wasting WAY more time than when I just had to reset the device. Pair that with some of the other inconveniences and my shifting to other devices and technical solutions and it started making less and less sense. I still might give the 1 IV or 1 V a shot when they see a substantial price drop, if only to see if they carry similar issues. Thanks for watching! ✌️😎
@@Unlucky1776 It is definitely worth it now, although probably you should go for the 10 v, they are both under £300 if you shop around. I think £250 was the lowest I saw.
@@doitallYT I'm from India and we are getting xperia 1 iii for like $400 . So I'm thinking to get it .. hopefully for that price its a good purchase. We don't get latest Sony phones in India we have to get them imported
That's what I paid for this one, so long as you don't have some of the issues I encountered it's a great phone! The display is AMAZING, if you watch a lot of videos you'll love it!
@@doitallYT bro I have the same issues on that but my friend said it can be because of android 12 update which is full of bugs and in android 13 they fix all the bugs so that can be one of the reason. And also unfortunately my phone has android 12 update and a Sony doesn't give any android 13 update on my phone. Also this phone have very basic ui therefore I am going to buy one of Samsung phone. And also it has all of issues which you discussed in this video camera stability issues and flash light and low performance on games due to android 12.
Funnily enough, when I got this phone it was on Android 12 and was having these same issues. I hoped the Android 13 update would fix things... But if anything the issues became more frequent 😅 such a shame too, I'd LOVE this device if it wasn't for the software problems, even with some of the hardware issues it has
