Bruce's passion,along with the rest of the band. Max really goes to town on those drums. One of the hardest working and underrated drummer in the business.
I've always loved Max, but seeing him live for the first time on Tuesday really cemented him as one of the all time greats. 72 years old and he still played those drums like he does in this video, with such intensity and passion. Amazing musician.
If you erased from history every song that was on a Springsteen album and were only left with the outtakes, he'd still be one of the greatest artists in rock n roll. Wages of Sin anyone?

I don't think Max gets nearly enough credit for how hard he works and has worked all those years. I mean he easily, along with Bruce, has the toughest job in these live shows. I don't even understand how he still does it, seriously. My hands would have been turned into mashed potatoes long time ago lol.
Did you k ow that when max wasn't touring with Bruce he was the drummer of the Paul Schaffer band on the David letterman show and in his very young days he played with the Ventures
@@jerrymichael1264No he was band leader and later, sidekick for Conan O'Brien. He was great, he has perfect comedic timing and he usually was portrayed as a pervert and sexual degenerate. And he was totally believable.He also has acted, doing episodes of Blue Bloods and Hawaii 5-0. He's very talented.

They were all great on that night. Nils on Youngstown, I do not know a better version of that solo, and I have about 30 different versions from that tour. And Lost in the Flood - first performance in ages, just try it out when the cameras are rolling for a DVD release... God, I wish he played NYC Serenade there.

If you multiply the length of concerts and number of shows over the decades by the quality of the drumming Max probably has provided more total great drumming than anyone else.
As a musician I can appreciate this live concert a thousand times more than someone who doesn't get music theory. There is a strong connection with every band member. They are all solid musicians and singers. You can't get this type of quality with any band. Only with people you can call family

The best live concerts ever! Bruce gives all the best in every single song and is able to feel and transmit his passion again and again. People becames crazy with these behavior. I've listened twice live this song, one of my favorites together with No surrender and Backstreets. "Long live" The Boss
I absolutely love this song. For a lot of reasons, mostly involving my late wife. It's definitely one of Bruce's best songs, and to think this was an outtake! His performance on the "Tracks" version and also on this live performance show why he is The Boss. This song has it all, but most of all it has passion. I can listen to this song every day and never get sick of it.
