if you’re looking for spooky graphic novels/manga, i always love recommending junji ito. ‘uzumaki’ is really good, but it is relatively lengthy.

I finished Uzumaki last night and it was amazing! I've already read Loveless and Shiver by Junji Ito and honestly just found them mildly amusing but Uzumaki is actually creepy. I'd like to mention that Junji Ito's stories are mostly body horror, I'm only mentioning it because I didn't know going in to reading his mangas and I found them a bit weird at first but Uzumaki was amazing!

I had very strong feelings about the new Riley Sager! Can’t wait to hear your thoughts. As for graphic novels-a cute, not at all scary one I just read was Garlic and the Vampire about an anthropomorphic garlic who lives with a kitchen witch…it’s major tea dragon vibes and I highly recommend(and it is Halloween-ish with witches and vampires).

💀💀💀 I get so happy whenever you post a new video. Best of luck with the daily vlogging - it's quite the undertaking! Can't wait to read The Woman in the Library. I absolutely devoured The Thursday Murder Club, and the second book as well. Highly recommend the audiobooks. Narrator is fantastic. A spooky-ish middle grade graphic novel I'd recommend is The Weirn Books by Svetlana Chmakova

Oh, I'm so excited about your upcoming vlogs! I've only read four of the books you mentioned: "Small Spaces" is a book I read because of your videos, and it was increeeedibly cozy! I really do suggest it, and if you don't manage to read it this summer, it'll be amazing for autumn time, too! Grady Hendrix's books are always a win! You will not regret reading them, they're comedy horror and are very witty and atmospheric. "I'm thinking of ending things" was really unsettling, especially in the first half, and many think that it's a book you should read twice. Can't wait to see your actual picks!!

I don’t usually read spooky, but I added three of them to my TBR. I’ve had And Then There Were None by Agatha Christie on my list to read for a while. One of my reading groups has prompts for a book challenge for the year and #25 is the favorite book by our favorite author. My current favorite author and I read everything she writes is Sophie Kinsella. She wrote the Shopaholic Series and the Undomestic Goddess and about 20 other great books. Well when she went on her book tour last year for My Not So Perfect Life, her husband knew they found some of Agatha Christie’s jewelry that had been missing and discovered in a box in an old car given away years ago. There was a diamond and emerald ring that came up for auction and her husband bid on it and got it for Sophie Kinsella (I believe it was around $100,00 pounds) as a good luck item for her book tour because Agatha Christie is her favorite author. I love watching your blogs!❤️☠️

I LOVED Small Spaces. I don’t read Middle Grade, but my 11-year old sister really wanted me to read it, and I really enjoyed it. I also ended up reading the other two books in the soon-to-be quartet!

You have a few of my favorites on your list!!! I love Grady Hendrix! I think that the cover for My Best Friend's Exorcism is AMAZING!! I loved Southern Book Club also. I read The Woman in the Library recently and loved it. I flew thru it. Sharp Objects was good, I figured it out quickly though. In My Dreams I Hold A Knife was one of my top reads of last year!! I cannot wait to hear what you think of them!! I don't have a set TBR - I'm listening to Final Girls Support Group and physically reading Hide.

I actually just ordered I’m thinking of ending things a couple days ago, I wanted to wait until winter to read it since that’s when it takes place but now I think I’ll read it for summerween. Theres stuff in here I wasn't prepared for/aware of and although it doesn't ruin the book for me it isn't my favorite thing

SBC's Guide to Slaying Vampires is one of my all time favorites! 📚🦇🍑 It includes three of my fave things.. books, true crime, and vampires. And he made me LOL and say "ew gross" at the same time. Can't wait to read more of his!

When you are a witch, it’s always spooky season! I don’t love scary reads, but I love murder mysteries, so I will add a few more to my library holds. I’m also reading a non-fiction book about the Salem Witch trials, and it’s so sad. The two middle grades you recommended in previous videos just arrived on hold for me, but our library isn’t open today. 😩

@@alexandraroselyn Six Women of Salem: The Untold Story of the Accused and Their Accusers in the Salem Witch Trials. The first portion is a bit slow because it is laden with dates and facts. Then you are thrown into the stories of these 6 women, and the people in their lives. It’s fascinating and heart-breaking.

I also want to know about good spooky graphic novels! I just read Fangs, and Garlic and the Vampire which had Over the Garden Wall vibes. I also looked through some of the past nominee lists for the Bram stoker award and picked a few to add to my list, but I've no idea if I'll like them. As for prose books, I'm currently reading What Moves the Dead and The Haunted Bookstore (Japanese), and might later choose between Our Wives Under the Sea, The Queen of the Cicadas, The Path of Thorns, or Slewfoot, depending on my mood. I was just about to read The Drowning Summer and The Woman in the Library! For graphic novels, (and these are not really scary but they have Halloween vibes) I loved The Okay Witch, The Witch Boy, Beetle and the Hollowbones, Cat's Cradle, and The Last Witch.

I'm looking forward to those reading vlogs. I personally love horror or gothic set in spring or summer or very green settings. I know you didn't love it, but part of why I loved Plain Bad Heroines was the fact the aspects of the haunting was very focused in nature such as the wasps and the apples, and the fact that it was set in the middle of summer on a lush island. I also particularly like it when the green and natural aspects of the book goes hand in hand with the horror, like house of hollow having flowers grow out of their wounds. I like descriptions of heat, and sunlight, and moving the horror out of the dark into area where you are meant to be safe. I was interested in Reckless Girls but I also saw those negative reviews and I think personally I will give it a pass.

I'm so excited for you to get to The Southern Book Clubs Guide to Slaying Vampires. If you can get the audiobook I highly recommend. Also, I've heard that some of the characters in My Best Friend's Exorcism are in Southern Book Clubs Guide. So they're stories interconnect which is super cool. 💀
