3 seconds on the clock to 100 seconds and he still comes out with a draw against a super grandmaster. That is why i love watching this guy play chess.

For those who don't know, Peter Svidler isn't just a Super GM: he's one of the most accomplished active chess players today (I know it's implied to an extent by being a Super GM, but hear me out!). 8x Russian champion, World Cup winner (and runner up), and several third-placed finishes in World Championship tournaments (back when they were a thing), in addition to being in the candidates about 10x and a boatload of other tournament wins. Probably the greatest Grunfeld player in history, too.

That was a sweaty testicle of game, thanks for sharing it. Not mad keen on the Taimanov due to the pawn on D7. Always feels about as much fun as finding blood in your stool when someone plonks a piece in D6.

Whenever I play the Sicilian and white castles queenside like 1:36, I get absolutely steamrollered every time. If I castle kingside, then 2 moves later there are 37 black pawns checkmating my king. If I leave my king in the middle, then he gets deleted by that rook-queen battery.
