Lot of aspirants have been reaching out to me about their issues with anxiety, depression and low confidence during this period of UPSC.
In this session, I try to cover all the small actions I took to make my anxiety and depression/under confidence be handled better.

What things I cover about handling anxiety, depression, low confidence and loneliness during the UPSC studies process: 1. Taking small actions -- Walking -- Lying on a floor/ground -- Short meditations -- Weekend small trips to nearby cultural places -- Rebuilding your routines -- START before you think YOU are READY 2. Mindfulness -- Making your bed -- Thinking of people less fortunate than you -- Helping someone -- Journals 3. Eating well -- Daal, chawal, roti, veggies. Not outside food. 4. Using your body to beat your mind -- Its not about 5 steps or 20 steps or 200 steps, IT IS ABOUT YOUR ONE STEP AT A TIME 5. Talking openly -- with friends etc. 6. Cutting social media 7. Sir, I've a query. I'm currently reading NCERTs and as you told us that we should read them for 3-4 times, like I'm currently reading Geography so whether I've to revise it for 3-4 times or I should start other subjects as well then revise them altogether or I should stick to one subject and revise it till I get the conceptual clarity and then move out to other ncert books like history, polity, economics, etc.

I have been stuck in a routine.As you have said, routine things make you feel a machine and I also feel it. Sometimes, I take a short break and for the refreshment I used to scroll down the RU-vid,say comedy video, entertainment show and in the next blink ,this short break becomes half an hour,45 mins,sometimes even an hour.Afterward I feel guilty.That guilt leads to depression, frustration and so on. I really appreciate, that you made this video, and I can't even express, how much this video is motivating me.Thanks for being the inspiration, thanks for being the mentor. Tons of love 🌻

Sir , I would like to share something here . I am preparing through last 3-4 years , and I am very happy with that , but not happy with the lifestyle I belonging at right now , then I realized I am following other person not me what I used to . I am used to all time living in a room , and feeling overburden . But listening to you I discovered that I am like that from my childhood . Whenever I am in problem with studies or other things I go for walk . Now I revive myself and living a blissful life with my books ....thank you

Thankyou Sir', I want to share the issue that I feel.. it is that I have this constant feeling of inadequacy while studying, writing answers etc.. I feel it is due the fact that I have been a mediocre student through my school and college days as I was more interested in sports and other activites then but it has become a constant fear as I think about my competition and relate it unconsciously to my past.

The thing with Indian households is that, they never consider Depression and anxiety as the topics of discussion. They think that everyone but their own child can be depressed. They don't realize how grave the situation an be until they actually lose their child. Depression and anxiety is something I have been dealing with for quite a long time (6 years now). When I tried to talk about it, I was told that, "TUMHE KARNA HE KYA HOTA HAI, SIRF PADHNA, KHANA AND SONA. ABHI RESPONSIBILITIES NHI HAI TAB YE HAAL HAI, DESH KYA SAMBHALOGI". I was made to believe that everything I suffered was a delusion and I am using it to cover up my failures. This was all when my we have lost my elder cousin sister to Depression and suicide. I just don't get why mental health issues are not given similar importance as physical health is given. I just want parents to believe their children. In the name of protection, they end up having anxious and depressed kid. And same applies to children as well, if you feel that your parents might be depressed or so....just talk and counsel them as well. They need mental support as much as we do. Mental health is important and it is not delusional.
