MEPS isn’t that bad I got back today. The only thing I have to say is they’re kinda rude, at least at Raleigh. So here’s a lil rundown You arrive at the hotel around 3:00 You get a room key, a meal pass (good food btw) you’ll have a roommate and you can workout, play pool whatever. YOU HAVE TO SHOWER at night and the morning. A quick body shower. I had a 10:00 curfew, try and get some sleep guys!!! I got up at 4 the next day took a quick shower got changed and went down stairs and ate breakfast. Which was pretty good as well. Then you’ll get to MEPS and first you’ll stand outside for about 20 mins as everyone goes through security. Then you’re gonna get your records, and start at medical. You do a breathalyzer, blood pressure, blood draw, pee test, and for females your breast and lower region is check out. Then In your underwear you’ll do a duck walk, and some range of motion exercises. Then you’ll start looking over paperwork with your counselor and they’ll explain your contract and ship dates and you’ll swear in. After that you go get some more paperwork and you’re ready to go. My day was from 5:00am-11:30am so it’s really not that bad y’all. And CONGRATS ❤️ y’all should be excited
My son left today for MEPS. He’s at the hotel right now. I hope all goes well. I’m going to send him your video. It was very helpful. Thank you. My son is going into the Air Force. He will be 18 in October. So he still has his senior year. He did the testing a couple weeks ago. Congratulations to you!
Thanks for the heads up. I'm due to go to MEPS tomorrow myself. **Update** A bit late on this, but it went well! But it certainly was boring as all hell. Hours and hours of sitting and waiting between exams and sessions. Get your sleep beforehand, I'm not joking. Some guys got sent home cause they nodded off.
Coleman Buckler bro I went like two weeks ago and we got to wait in a line for a long time to check everyone’s temperature and that’s at the hotel and at meps everyone lines up and gets checked one by one
Yooo what’s up guys! If you have any questions just leave a comment and I will answer them ASAP. If you liked the video please give it a like and subscribe if you wanna keep up with me!
Here before this channel blows up!! Also when im out of highschool I'm hoping to get into the navy. Parents are not supportive though so idk what to really do. Got any advice?
Don’t let your parents stop you from achieving what you want to achieve in life ( within reason, don’t dropout and be a SoundCloud rapper)! Since your parents aren’t supportive, try your best to convince them to support your decision, most of the time they think your gonna go off to war when in reality your not. Let them know there are other occupations in the military other than one that’s in combat. You could be an intelligence specialist 25,000 miles away from danger. If they want you to go to college let them know you can do both! Try to get your parents to support you your life will be so much easier but if that doesn’t work, your most likely gonna have to wait until your 18 to join which isn’t a big deal. As long as the military is what you wanna do. YOU WILL REGET IT FOR THE REST OF YOUR LIFE if you let your parents decide for you. I’ve heard someone say “I would’ve served but my mom wanted me to stay home, I couldn’t do that to her” ( a real conversation) don’t be that guy. Since your in highschool, find out if they offer ROTC, it doesn’t matter which branch of ROTC it is just join! Being in ROTC helps you get used to military life and it gets you promoted! Hope that helps. Also look at EVERY BRANCH before you make a decision, I wanted to be a marine in highschool and I’m now in the army. Don’t be blinded by the name, look at how the branch is gonna benefit YOU.
Isaac Simpson idk if you still need this advice but i have an unsupportive parent as well and tbh you have to live your life for you so do what makes you happy, it sucks that they don’t support you but you don’t wanna be miserable and have regrets because of that
Heading off to MEPS in the morning, never did drugs, never broke a bone, but still scared they'll find something, lol. Thanks for the vid, actually did help me calm down knowing what's going to happen, 11X OP 40 is what I'm shooting for.
i’m at meps right now, well in the hotel.. anyways their is this dude that was with us in the lounge and we all filled out a form that has rules for the hotel, I shit you not the first rule says “no drinking alcohol even if you are of age”, while we are talking to the main dude this guy just opens a beer and gets yelled at “we are contacting your recruiter and your going home” the guy then hits him with the “it’s ok, i’m a holdover”
I went into a MEPS virigina center in 2014 and drove there myself. Got to the part with the doctor to weigh me on a scale. Found out for my height I was underweight for miminum requirement of the Coast guard. That was my branch I was disqualified from and the Navy was the only one that didn't have this which he told me about. I still was upset my time was wasted being there for 12 ish hours and I was sent home to make a decision with my recruiter. He was pretty ignorant and naive when I told him what happened he said he didn't know that weight would be a problem and never saw that before. Could have wrote a waiver but I get why weight is important especially when you have to pull people out of the ocean and save lives. Ended up going to another career choice and never looked back.
Went to meps Houston yesterday. It wasn't as tough as what I heard, read, and watched here in youtube. I guess we were lucky! The doctors there were cool. I thought I wasn't able to go through yesterday due to my vision but man I tried my best for that. My vision wasn't that bad but the doctor told me I would need some glasses or contacts for greater eyesight. Finished all of it at around 12 but the thing is I had to wait like 3-4 hours to swear in due to some paper works needed to be fixed. Anyways, got through all of it, swore in as an EM, shipping out next year on march but I asked my recruiter to request for an early ship out and told me maybe this october or november. So yea. Thankful it's finally done!
Aaronb TV Thx man I was super nervous before going and I stayed up until 4:00 just watching videos 😂.But everything turned out good I signed my contract for 6years mandatory plus 2 years of standby as a 42A (Human resource specialist) in the Army.THANK YOU SO MUCH you literally described everything
Aaronb TV it was boring lmao long burning hours😂like you said , but I did it!! I’m officially enlisted, I ship to boot camp right after a graduate high school,
@@cesarcorona8859 i'm finishing up a waiver and hopefully going to meps soon for the army, i want to be a helicopter mechanic and work my way up to pilot... The tension and the wait is killin me, i havn't wanted anything this bad in a long time
I go to New Orleans MEPs station in 2 weeks but I'm inbetween DEP and Active Duty if that makes sense? I'm waiting for my MOS to become available before I leave. As soon as it's available I ship off.
I haven't taken my asvab yet I was planning on taking the PICAT and honestly I'm scared of meps 😅. I'm only 17 right now and man this shit seems scary as fuck
I went thru meps and it wasn’t bad honestly just do what they tell u to do and do it the correct way lol but I passed my Asvab with a 38 like barley 💀 I went in for the airforce so yeah cause I knew the marines isnt for me or army and I choose security forces cause I don’t want a boring ass desk job and I like to be hands on
I'm kinda nervous for tomorrow interview because I'm not a native English speaker...hahahaha I didn't get to practice to speak in English as my recruiter speaks to me with our native language! Any tips for answering their questions besides yes, no, and never??
I am going to MEPS in 3 days 😄 i have sooo many questions. What day of the week did u go? Im going on a Tuesday, its supposed to be the quickest day. How closely did they review your body for scars during physical? Did they lift up under clothes and look everywhere? Did they look at tattoos closely? How did u make time go by faster when u were just sitting and waiting? Were you allowed to have a water bottle on you? If u got secret clearance checked, what was that like? i have to get it for the job i chose (13F)
mike montalvo for me and my group, the doctor had 7 of us line up and he just quickly walked doen the line looking at lower thighs, and the lower parts of ur arm (top and bottom)
mike montalvo you’ll be fine just play it cool and try to avoid showing it btw they sell products to increase your hair depth so the scar will go from 80% - 99% covered. buy it before you go because they will do any and everything to slow your process down. Trust me on this one
Your recruiter will try to have another applicant go with you and you both share a hotel room. Both times I went to Meps I had a battle buddy with me and in my room as well. You might get lucky tho and get your own room
That MOS is one of the hardest to get in the Army. Good luck stay calm and don’t draw attention to yourself. You’ll be tired as hell and want to fall asleep. Find the right battle buddies and take shifts on sleeping for 5 mins and switch. One of the best sleep I got during MEPS. Also you are prob not gonna pick your job on Wednesday just all the test then they are gonna send you back and pick your job swear in and either dip out or get sent back home.
**UPDATE** MEPS was a great experience! I am medically qualified and the ppl I met were chill and friendly. It helps coming from a military family cuz without their guidance I would’ve struggled and signed something I didn’t wanna sign. It was chill till the end when I spoke with my counselor. I had to speak with the Sr Counselor for some reason and he tried to pressure me into going 31E instead of 31K. Which was weird cuz I never once mentioned an interest in Echo. But basically I didn’t sign anything and left. The recruiters and counselor said that I would most likely never get that MOS (31K) and that it won’t open up for me until 2022 which was kinda a bummer to hear but I also highly doubt that is the case. If anything maybe a couple months but 2 years is a stretch and most likely a scare tactic to make me sign for another job. Everything was great up until the end. 😁
ボーッWavy aye I’m glad. Also remember if you can’t get your job with one recruiter you can go to others and they can prob get your job and also don’t forget about the National guard. That’s what I was in and they got my job with a snap of their fingers. Don’t blow off the guard if you think they ain’t shit lol. But I’m glad you didn’t just sign and be miserable. 🤘🏽 best of luck to you and if you do ever get in definitely come back to this post would love to hear how it goes.
Hey bro, just a quick question if you don't mind. Did you have to fill out a huge packet at the recruiter's office before going to MEPS? Just wondering if that's normal...
Lmfao yea bro, I had to fill out a bunch of stuff and sign a bunch of stuff although your recruiter can make that process A little quicker if they’re nice and do some of the stuff for you.
So I been hearing if you go to meps you get sent out to the military the very next day I’m confused as far as delayed entry program and the shipping out the next day so my ultimate question is how do you know if you ship out the next day or if you are in the delayed area?
andy salgado dude, your chances of shipping the next day are like 1 in a million. Only time I’ve ever heard that happening is the person was homeless and literally had nowhere to go.
Talk to your recruiter, If you’re in the delayed entry program and your going to MEPS for the first time you’re not shipping out that first time but talk to your recruiter.
Yo Aaron I know this video is really old but I’m just now going to meps this week so I was wondering , where did u get all of your army shirts? Did u buy them yourself or do they issue them to you?
So I'm kind of worried. I have cat scratches on my upper arm. (Put my cat in a headlock dont ask why😂) but it looks self inflicted. I dont want them to not believe me and get disqualified. What do I do?
What about the exercise they make you do where you are in a squat position and fall on both knees them stand back up using your toes, please I need help I've gotta get the exercise down to go back to meps
@@AaronbTV but you know what exercise I'm talking about right, where you gotta lean back and use your toes to stand up,I can't do that one but I'm trying like hell to master it
Hi! I know I'm kinda late to this video but I go to Meps tomorrow (or the hotel tmrw and Meps the day after tomorrow), do you know anything about the female experience for meps and what kind of things they have to do cuz I'm a female
@@AaronbTV ok thank you, also what kind of information will I have to provide? Like do I have to fill something out about where I live, my highschool grades, etc??
Your recruiter should tell you everything you need but basically Birth certificate, social security card, maybe highschool diploma. Also your recruiter may just upload it all to MEPS where you don’t have to bring anything at all
Ok so right now we’re in quarantine because of the corona virus 😅 but I haven’t gone to meps because of my weight😐 do you have any tips on losing weight? Thank you very much and I enjoyed this video!
Mireya Soriano intermittent fasting tons of helpful videos. Many apps out there as well to give you a helping hand. Cut pop, sugar, water water water. If you’re going to consume caffeine small amounts. Because once you go to basic you will not have access to caffeine. You will have withdrawals headaches and other things.
Yosapa Gurkin thank you for the tips! I am currently doing intermittent fasting lol and I only drink water so that was a plus and yeah so I’m down a couple pounds and I’m hoping that I’m ready for meps:)
Okay there's a difference between self diagnosing yourself and official diagnosis. If they ask do you have depression? Think about that, sure everyone gets sad but did you go to a doctor and get diagnosed with depression? My recruiter said not to lie about legit medical conditions you have but if your fine your fine don't shoot urself in the foot
@@MaliqueNotMalik Kinda personal question. When you went, how thorough was the testicular exam? Did they feel all around or did the just look or sum like that?
