I spent 6 months waiting to go to meps because I had a previous stress fracture. Its healed , no rehab , no surgery .My recuiter lied to me and never submit anything. I switched branches and got a awsome recuiter and took me one month to go to meps My new recuiter said it's a easy waiver to approve but it takes time . I passed my physical submitted all my paper work , clearance letter . Now the chief surgeon of the national guard kicked it back and wants me to go for a orthopedic consult with their doctor . It always one thing after another. But I know I'm gonna pass this consult and continue on to swear in .it just sucks and is frustrating because I just want get my life started . Just gotta hang in their ! Cant quit now after all that I've been through so far . 👍
I have been waiting for my MEPS Approval for over a month now. Hope to go in the next couple weeks. Waiting for the prescreen for an illness that was cured.
I hope you have the best of luck, truly. Been to MEPS 3 times already. Was waiting on my Moral Waiver to pass and the 2 Star General denied it without reason (I have zero convictions with legal stuff btw). Currently waiting now on the next step which they said is probably going to be resending the Waiver back up and try and "catch him in a better mood" (verbatim what the Captain I spoke to said). Honestly this videos I find of meps/waiver stuff helpful in just seeing others who are struggling with this like me. I think ill make a video too, eventually to also see if I can reach other people like us just trying their best to serve their country. Again truly the best of luck, seems like thats all we can hope for at this point :/ Edit: I went to the recruiters June 1st 2018, on my 4th recruiter now and its June 23rd 2019 fyi

I just went to meps last week. I'm waiting for a waiver because I had open heart surgery as a premature baby. Hopefully all goes well , I did good on the asvab and physical. I hope your stuff goes well
Dustin Catalan that’s a pretty big surgery, but as long as it’s all taken care of, and you have a clearance from your doctor, and some sort of operative report as well as preop and post op, you should fly by. Sometimes it’s hard when it’s medical records from a long time ago. The biggest thing is a clearance from your doctor. Even if you go now to do it. Good luck!
@@xtne.e1100 yeah it took forever to get my records as a baby. I have a good feeling about it since I was cleared to go to meps in the first place. But yeah I've had no issues with my heart since birth
I’m going up to meps for this week for my physical. Praying everything goes well and I can finish being processed for a waiver! It’s been a long time coming.
For real, I had to go to like 5 different doctors. To get notes and paperwork and tests done. For medical conditions that happened when I was a child lol
Been waiting for 5 months here in NYC and is same I’ve not been sent to MEPS yet. In prior service idk why is so crazy besides what they say that they’re trynna fix system
New York is a heavily populated area. I believe that the MEPS process is a lot longer than other cities. But yes, I was approved for everything before going and the process was seamless. Hang in there!
Congratulations on making it to OCS and your achievements so far!!!! This video is really helpful because I'm in that phase at the moment. It's been a struggle trying not to be a thorn in my recruiter's behind with follow-ups. Hearing you go in depth about it kind of soften the anxiety. Just out of curiosity, what was your fitness level like before you shipped out to Basic training? I'm a bit worried because I've heard so much about how the PT score makes a huge impact on the OCS package. I'm a bit out of shape but taking advantage of this waiting period to really whip myself somewhat back in shape before I go further along in the process.
Ima ask my recruiter tomorrow to see if they can actually go ahead and schedule me an meps appointment for my physical at least instead of waiting for an approval on my prescreen
That’s the same boat I’m in I was supposed to take physical in sept 2018. But I had a dui and scars from a bike 🚲 wipeout so kinda fucked myself over there and I’m still waiting it’s been 5 months now OMFG 😱
raven hicks hi! I didn’t get a waiver, I just waited to have my pre-screen paperwork approved before I was cleared to do my physical. In regards to the drug test, you have that done in the recruiters office, at MEPS, and again before you go to enlist. If you have to worry about the drug test... then maybe you should wait longer until you’re good to go.
I Went through the same process. It took MEPS 3 months to schedule my appointment for ear lavash and and another two months for my eye consult Congratulations on passing MEPS. Check my channel. They will find out. They always do. Happened to me. And others I met at meps. One got sent home from boot camp for it while at boot camp. That is, IF it’s on your medical record, whether you provide it or not they can see it.
