I noticed that Empress dowager, Emperor and Empress tends to wear goldish or yellow clothes. And when that maid turn concubine after Ruyi cut ties with the emperor starts to wear yellow despite being only an imperial concubine. Clearly, she can't hide her ambition to be the Empress. 😠
Imperial noble consort was allowed to wear yellow. The color yellow was only reserved for the Empress Dowager, Emperor, Empress and Imperial Noble Consort (1 rank below the empress)

@@shielatv22 she was meant to be the empress all along. It was the previous emperor who disagreed and demanded his son chooses another woman. The reason we don't feel bad for empress fuca is because she was cruel and vindictive. When Consort Hui and consort Xian fist entered the palace she gave them bracelets with basil seeds inside which rendered them unable to conceive. She also had a hand in the death of other consorts kids, and schemed to kill ruyi while she was in the cold palace.

Also she's not the only shameless one, you have ling guifei later wearing yellow even though she knew she could only wear it as huang guifei. Shows how disrespectful and arrogant they are.
Traditional Mongol clothing was actually one of the inspirations for Amidala's costumes, along with Geisha makeup and details from earlier Chinese dynasties like the red dots. They threw a bunch of Asian cultures in a blender and called it a day xD

I think term "illegitimate" was not right to described Emperor's child with concubine. They're considered as imperial princes and princesses legaly, can ascended to the throne too. Maybe "lesser" more suitable.
Nah.. I will forever have love and empathy for the first Empress ♥️ Like despite the emperor not loving her the way she deserved, She really is and WAS the best main wife.. she upheld and respected her position, despite all the trials and embarrassments she’s had to overcome. Like being chosen as the first wife, then being chosen as the second cause Ruyi decided to rock up late and be disrespectful. First empress had her reasons for why she reacted the way she did.. She REALLY annoyed me at times, but I still understand why she did what she did
She killed at least 3 children, made Ruyi & Imperial Consort have fertility issues due to basil seeds in those matching bracelets, not even mentioning all the acts her "maid" Sulian did for her to better secure their "position".
