Morticians and Physicians are very similar. A physician does all he or she can do to save a patient, a mortician does all that's left to be done for a patient after the physician can no longer do anything for the patient.
The cellophane is a great idea! not to mention if the body got a bit wider than the clothing the family picked out for them. love your expressions, the sponge hahaha... been there, that startling discovery made me stop using sponges for dishes. Morticians is the last person who can make a difference before a decedent is seen by their loved ones one final time. just as the first impression when you meet them while alive, the last impression if shocking will stay haunting forever. I don't know how one prepares for the job that you do, but tremendous respect for you and everyone who does this for a living. those who passed away peacefully I'm sure is the easiest. Preparing the mangled remains for open casket ceremonies of someone who died in accidents, bodies of children in accidents, bloated remains of a drowning victim... I don't know how to decouple and focus on the task. How do you "dress" and bathe a body that went through autopsy? reattach the skull with glue? powder the skin seams after suturing it back together? stuff the cavity so that their belly isn't a sunken crevasse?
The head is not cut off during the autopsy. The seams are not visible through the clothes and the bodies that I get are ready for dressing already. Thank you for your lengthy, insightful comment.
Hey Martin, how are you? Thank you for sharing your experiences. I am a Licensed Funeral Director and Embalmer in the U.S. Regardless of culture or beliefs, the men and women in our line of work have hearts of gold. You're a good man. 💯
Thanks I'm good. Working at the anatomy department of a university now and dressing the bodies as a side job. Thank you for the kind words. Nice change from the usual 'burn in hell'.
It's funny. I found this channel after a very "easy to understand" explanation on 9gag. Since then I tune in every now and then. Due to what you do I have a huge respect for what you, and others such as you do. I've come to respect the dead in a completely different way. However. I am also for some reason terrified of having someone doing what you doing glue my eyes shut, stuff my mouth full of cloth and then sew my mouth shut from the inside. Huge respects dude for all the explanations for the rest of us.
I somehow missed your comment until now. Thank you very much for saying that. I try to show death in a slightly different way. It's coming for all of us and it can come any day, so there's no point in not persuing our dreams while we still have the chance. I think that you wouldn't mind being stuffed because you wouldn't be there anymore, in that empty vessel, that you were travelling the universe in. Or maybe you would be there, who knows. I treat every dead body as if it still had a little bit of spark in it. They are my friends and I'm their pal, that they can count on :) I love my job and I often need to remind myself to not smile too much. Thanks for tuning in.
Keep up the good work Martin. Someone has to do this work im sure you don't do it for the money, as generally the more gory the work is the less you are paid.
I’m almost graduated from highschool and I’ve gotten in contact with a nice local funeral home that has agreed to let me job shadow some of their undertakers until I can start my internship with them. I’m a little bit worried about being judged in the field by colleagues as I fall into the stereotype almost to a T, but I believe It’s my calling and I’m quite excited to get started :)
Thank you for sharing your kit and your informative videos. The versatility of the boxes is perfect. Is embalming uncommon in Poland too except in certain circumstances? I think you have more skills in the makeup area than I do. Not that it would be a difficult feat to accomplish.
I know it is because we are exposed to so much American media so that embalming seems to be one of the most integral parts in caring for the deceased. I now know it is very rare here in Australia except when it is required for international travel or if there will be an extended period before the body disposition occurs.
I guess the Trocar and the Embaming machine and The Embalming Fluid are at the Furneral home u must be a Trade Mortician. U sure no your Trade. Good job.
@@necro4983 Dzieki.
Thanks. I keep spare nails because sometimes the casket needs a little Jesus on the cross nailed on the lid and it often just lies in the casket, waiting to be nailed to the lid and the nails are often missing.
Hi there ! MM I need to ask a question here ! I’ve seen you dig up two bodies now, the one you did showing your watch from 3.05-5.38pm was a woman who you said, and I quote “ as she’s not having anyone buried in here with her, we’ll just pat all the dirt down and let her rest in peace “ Right ok, so if a husband or son or daughter etc isn’t being buried with her, then why are you digging this poor woman’s remains up ? I’ve really tried hard to think of a logical explanation to this but I cannot ? So please Mr Mental Martin 😆😆 can you explain to the beginner in grave digging please 🙏🏻? Thank you 🙏🏻 ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️🌈🌈🌈
Martin Polski, I very much like your special dead body boxes of tools. Very good! But why you need to take tools out of place? Can you not leave tools in undertaker building? You traveling dead body person and work out of body shop? Very muchly interesting yes! Was you Papa undertaker too? Thanks most for answer interest question! You is good fellow doing job that very hard for most can not. Good wideo
isnt dead people scary sometimes? like if they have died due to murder or beatings.. the body wont be whole and that seems scary. what about the rotten egg smell?
@@jukeboxjaime8795 The caskets have little Jesuses on the cross on them and it needs assembly sometimes. The same with crosses that we put on a fresh grave. I nailed hundreds of them already. Take care.
You crack me up! Can we be friends?👻 I've always had an interest in working with the deceased. Most breathing people get on my nerves. Do you have any favorite music to jam out to while working?
@@MartinsGraveyard YAAAAAAY! I made a new friend!!! Woohooo! The Joe Rogan Experience??? Nice! By chance, have you read The Undertaking. Life Studies From The Dismal Trade? It is written from the perspective of a poet who also happens to be a mortician. It's a great read. I hope you have a great day!
