Hey Max, whenever you are buying something, never pay more than the sticker price of food or clothes, etc (MRP - maximum retail price). In most cases, you can get a discount on the MRP when buying clothes on the street. For food items, it's rare to get a discount, but never pay even 1 rupee more than the MRP mentioned on the price tag. MRP has been set by the govt to avoid overcharging by shopkeepers. You overpaid for the Jeans, it's not more than 500-600 in most cases when buying on the streets. Same for shoes, slippers, etc
It feels like both of you are even better when you collab, like friends being more comfortable while they are in company, it brings out even better of both of your personalities.
You don't need to pay service charges in India. You can ask to deduct service charges because govt of India has clearly stated customers should not pay it. You ask them to deduct and they will do it immediately because that's the rule. I do it every time I go to restaurants and bar. Even most of the citizens themselves do not know that it's not compulsion to pay service charges in India. I know it because I am preparing for the civil services. Edit- I just mentioned civil services for the source of this information. Because not many citizens know about it unless they read newspapers very keenly. I don't want to brag about it though It's 99.09% chance that I could fail. :)
@@epictetus__ this is levied by govt on restaurant but they tend to force it on customers, but as I said you can ask them to remove it and they will not say a word. Even if 3 bills out of 10 pay service charge still they are in profit. They play with luck by chance, lol.
@@leonfit1131 it's not necessary for "if you don't like the service", by saying this they are just trying to give you the guilt trip for not paying for the great service they provide you and then customers will pay it bcoz they don't want to get awkward. Just don't pay if you don't want to pay even if you love the service.
Those two girls for whom Max kept the door opened didn't even say "Thank You" but that man coming after them greeted thank you to him. A little decency and good manners goes a long way and those two girls need to learn that.
Bunch of spoilt little brats are all that they are. Common courtesy isn't even related to education, but rather taught and learnt in the family which they clearly seem to be lacking at, big time.
@@shabanaansari4453That’s the problem with most girls and some boys. They leave simple manners at home no matter how literate they are. I noticed that and felt ashamed and yes I APMC an Indian living in London.
The funny part of the video was the man trying to sell the bag for 150 bucks and then agreeing to sell it for 100 after a guy next to him asks him to return 100 bucks. You make amazing videos man. Keeping on doing the great work and entertaining us 👍👍🤗
And he never took 100 RS back 🤦🏻♂️ Seeing Max over spend for everything gives me anxiety. Max if you ever read this comment, make sure you take back your money ( as discussed ) also please stop believing in that " You are my first customer " concept. That's a scam 😅
Thank God that you are safe....I remember your latest videos of Nepal. The moment I heard the news, your name clicked. Glad you are safe! Keep exploring and be happy always.
I find you the bestest outsider youtuber in whole india ..I wish all of your dreams comes true ..Sir i also want to say you that come Jammu and the nature here is best looking as like you bro 💗
This guy Max was truly an Indian in his earlier life. The largeness of his heart, his willingness to share and the way he relishes the spicy food , are indicators to this. Good Luck Max.
@Ravi Vasantham "This guy Max was truly an Indian [...] indicators to this. Good Luck Max." ======================================================= Apparently you imagine that the only people who are large-hearted and who like pungent food are the people from India. Good Luck Ravi Vasantham.
@@yevodee4024 If you can tell me where you are from, I shall be glad to add that country too. Smile mate, if not anything it just could improve your face value 🤣
Hey Max, It's unfortunate to hear about the unethical pricing practices being used by some sellers. I would suggest trying to negotiate with them to get a fair price. Keep in mind that some items, such as jeans, can be found for less than 1000 rupees, and shirts for under 500 rupees. It's important to stand firm and bargain for a price that you feel is reasonable...And the price in Fashion Street is very reasonable you just need to know how to bargain.. I watch your vlogs it's my all time fav 😍 we even love to watch u & Chris together ❤️
Some of these(street)retailers' first prices are ridiculous high, and if you bargain and negotiate, you end up getting it for 50%-60% off. Is it a hustle or they believe foreigners have allot of money and they can rip them off...it is bad for tourists and tourism ...and I must remind you Indians are known to be very very honest and modest people...but here.....???? Unbelievable
28:10 You gotta take things like that with a smile and positiveness. Tag is 400 in your face and hes asking 700 at the beggining haha your good Man ! Its fun to travel and not caring much about always winning bargains with these vendors. I know the feeling 🕉
Hey Maxxx... Welcome back to India. Love to see you back again in India. Hoping for full collaboration video with Chris next time😀... I don't know whether you were the first customer to shirt shop guy or t shirt shop or pant shop guy, but you the were first customer to bag selling guy. He showed his respect 🙏 to that 200rs note, when you gave it to him. 😊
You could have got the pants at 600-700rs, shirt for 500 rs and the tshirt for 300-400rs... usually these kind of small shops sell at cheaper rates generally in India
Is that normal for your generation: You are sitting together at same table but talking to others (vlog). It seems to me speaking to others is more important than communicating directly with the travel buddy. It seems to me that a vlog is mainly about the speaker: look, everyone, I am in India. - In view of Chris I know he is able to talk in hindi language. That's why he didn't talk a lot. And don't misunderstand me: Max is a very polite and charming young man. I like him, too.
Apple season ends in November in India, therefore, no more apple pie. Apples are picked September through November in Shimla and Kashmir. In the Nilgiris mountains in south India the apple season runs from April through July. Perhaps, if those apples get shipped to Mumbai, there will be more apple pie then.
Such a nice person bro love you for ur kindness much respect to you God bless you bro ♥️ the way you talking with people osm bro may your channel grows fast✨🙌
@@davelawson2564 it's for the flame I guess.. 😅 charging 1500 for a flame pizza where he expected to see the flame darker.. Title was just for attention and reach..But his videos are worth watching
Hello Max, new subscriber here. You got me hooked after the Indore Sarafa videos. This one is also very good. The 'Pizza by the Bay' place used to be a famous eatery by the name ' Jazz By The Bay' from around the 1990s till the 2000s. Its location is of course unmatched and it was popular due to live Jazz performances by artists on certain days of the week. Food was not a strong point even at that time as it was a total ripoff. It was made popular more by the people who liked to be 'seen' at a particular location rather than food or service. I could see that the flambe was more of a 'show' rather than the actual thing. But you hit the right spot with the Naturals Ice cream. Oh BTW, Anjeer is Figs in Hindi. And that flavor is to kill for! Coffee walnut comes a very very close one too.
I used to walk along this road almost everyday to work and back several years ago. It hasn’t changed much. Used to also visit Fashion Street. Now I’m watching from a different country!
Just like everyone in the comment section, the first person that came to my mind when I heard about the plan crash news in Nepal was you. Was really hoping for you to be safe. Glad to see that you're in Mumbai :) How long will you be here?
@@jimmy_newborn5922 you have brain or not ?? I just asked what he dislike that i didn't understand. Why & how criticism coming here ?? And look like you are a little kid...that's why without knowing you directly called others as a kid. you must grow up first, then tell others.
Glad to hear from you... Was worried bout the crash... Anyways cool video vibe as always. Hope those cricketers can gather together to organize cleanup their playground from those thrash. It's sad to see it like that...
Max I am hooked on your videos. You are so kind and humble respecting Indian culture and it's people. You give vicarious delight for us all in the simplest of foods and showcase the variety of a complex foodscape. I never tire of your expressions of ecstasy when you discover new flavor profiles. I really prefer your solo adventures without Chris. He is somewhat pretentious with his Hindi (he claims fluency but half his words are English and his vocabulary is limited - he repeats the same thing over and over) and totally disrespects the Indian and Muslim cultures with his social faux pas. @18:40 Max that is a cricket club. Kind of like a golf or tennis club in the US. Up and coming talent is developed/scouted at this level. @22:00 Shirt is too small. You want it a little loose, not so tight it pulls the buttons. Betel nut is the basic ingredient of all paan. Everything is built around it (sweet, sour, hot, bitter - are different types). DO NOT SWALLOW. It is like chewing tobacco. It will make you sick to your stomach if you swallow. @28:37. Mohammed Khan is a Muslim. The name says it all (he is not Hindu for sure). You noticed he avoided your question of where he was from. Always start bargaining at 1/3 price of their first offer. A good/fair deal is half, a generous deal for them 2/3.
Wow you are in Mumbai! Please go to Ahmedabad. It is birthplace of thousands of Gujarati delicacies. Your taste pallet will go crazy. Ahmedabad is super close to Mumbai and home to best people and Gujarati food.
Ah, how I miss Mumbai after watching this video! I was at Pizza by the Bay restaurant and that marine drive area just last year, and it was fun. I did not walk on the street because I am not young to walk around allover the city, but I had a rental car, and it was such a wonderful experience to simply drive around and see life in Mumbai. There's so much going on in the city, life can never get boring.
Max, you should visit my Indian home in Chicago when you are back in Arkansas! The spiciest South Indian food possible and btw, my favorite is dosa as well ❤❤
Basic things foreigners should realise: India is very diverse Hindi is spoken by most of the North Indians and it's not our national language South and North East India is safer than most of North India
I like the way he has learned the Indian negotiating method. Actually he is ending up paying the actual or near to the actual prices since people tend to overprice stuff to foreigners especially in the core cities like Delhi(I think its better about clothing and all but for transport its just the worst for foreigners) and Mumbai. Also was quite funny and foolish when that guy tried to sell a 400 rupee tagged shirt for 750, I think that was quite the wrong way since the customer realizes sooner or later while trying it on or putting it inside their bag or something also sends a wrong message about Indian shops and all.
Good job bro. Just came across your video. I like your videos because you show alot of respect and appreciation on your travels. I prefer your videos as you don't mock or ridicule anything. Thank you for being kind and considerate to India.
Max been watching all yours and Chris's vlogs, you guys are the dons, love the way you describe the foods.. being a cancer patient, I have been watching all the foods you guys eat and I so want to eat the foods, but sadly not able to due to my cancer treatment with chemo and radiotherapy... my taste buds are gone and cannot eat anything spicy... 😫 😩 😪... love the Indian foods, specially the street foods... Keep up the great work guys... top man's Peace
Max your all videos are awesome, Yeah I think you can bad experience starting time no matter where you go on world but it's ok, You are great max you don't even know many languages to talk but tried your best in every video and also you shown a confidence that know matter how risky to travel and shout video but you did it max lots of love from India🇮🇳
I never comment on videos. You are the most humble and nicest person.... visit aurangabad ( sambhaji nagar) caves .. amd pune also. You can go for treking on forts near pune. Try Panhalgad ....
Hey Max! Glad you've visited Mumbai, I think that Irani cafe wasn't the correct one you visited if you go a bit ahead of it you'll find a cafe named Military Cafe and it is the real Irani Cafe you should definitely try their keema pav and raspberry soda I don't know if they sell apple pie but at best of my knowledge it is the real Irani Cafe in that area.
My late father was 84 years old, He enjoys his food till he met his day. I once asked him, how to maintain health, he said, when we eat food, it should have 6 types of taste - sweet, sour, salty, bitter, pungent and astringent.
Max I like your updated and new personality you are more talkative and open. In the past you were more reversed and American introvert styles. Keep this personality style and add more to it.
That price doesn't seem worth it to me at all. I was in India 2 months ago, and there were 4-5 star hotels that offered buffets for Rs 2,000, and that included so many choices of salad, soup, mains, desserts, pasta station, etc. Even living in Ottawa, I can get an authentic Neapolitan wood fire 12" pizza for between Rs 1,000 - 1,500 - this from a very nice restaurant using top quality imported ingredients.
You bring out old memories, can't remember the number of times I walked drunk or sober, on dates , crashing Navy get- together parties , in my college days in this area . Edit - just before jazz by bay , you missed the best ice cream sandwiches in the world , its across Chateau Windors .may be next time .
Hi max there are different types of paan, which you had was hard and strong which burn in your mouth hence next time ask for soft paan and more gulkand(rose patels) sweet to add into it.
Hey max , i just love your vlogs man ! ❤️ Man you have an option to deny paying services charges in india. Its entirely voluntary and no restaurant/ cafe has the right to collect it from you forcefully. Hope this helps you in this incredible journey of yours. 💯 Lots of love ❤️
the best thing max ever do is feeding the cows and have blessings from them and he gets confident that his say will gonna b great to start keep up bro ❣️❣️
Max I hear you repeatedly call everyone "Bhaiya" (brothers), That is plural for "Bhaee" (brother) which is what you should be referring to a single man (as in Namaste bhaee). "Bhaiya" would be appropriate for more than one man or a group of men.
