Hello, when making face masks and using 2 layers of cotton, one layer of non woven fabric and polyester whats the best size needle to use?

I have this same machine. I fixed the timing issue but I am still not getting a stitch. When I manually turn the machine the top thread catches the bobbin thread and pulls it up but when I use the machine the bobbin thread does nothing. Help me!
